Just a quick drive by ladies, will have to catch up more later.

Cycle isn't due until the 29th, but figured I would pee on a stick today since I thought it would be a nice present for BF today if it was positive. Drumroll.....positive! OMG I'm pregnant! We've only thrown caution to the wind this cycle and can't believe we were blessed for it to happen on the first try. I know it doesn't happen like that for everyone, so completely blessed!

Excited, but nervous, since I did miscarry earlier this year when we had an oopsie. Definitely gonna call my doc after holiday to see if we can do hcg testing or if there's anything I need to do special since I have miscarried before. Just praying for healthy 9 months.

And one other quick note...I wake up yesterday and he gives me a card for some jeweler and says I need to go there by 5 to get sized and show the guy what I like. I'm not getting my hopes up that I'll get it today...have a feeling it's just so it can be ordered. But blew my mind wasn't expecting it!

    Merry Christmas!

    How was everyone's Christmas?

@Kirstie155 Christmas was good! Low key sans the positive pregnancy test.

No he didn't propose on Christmas I would have been shocked if he had. Maybe a few weeks ago he said February and was like you're so hard to surprise lol. Why did he insist on me going on Christmas Eve to get sized?? Lol who knows....guys, he said it was important. And then he got all pissy because I guess he's already picked something out, so he was worried that the guy showed me the actual ring he plans to give me because the salesman said "I think he was looking at something like this." Lol i told him unless he wants to show me what he picked out then I have no idea...and I'll guess we'll find out when you decide to give it to me!

On the pregnancy front I had blood drawn yesterday for testing to test my hcg and progesterone levels..so we'll see where I'm at and hopefully the second draw will show my hcg doubling! Not as familiar with what my progesterone level should be and how that should change over pregnancy.

My Christmas was good, my sister and her fiance are in town staying with me and i took an extra day off to go with them to Gettysburg and visit my grandparents. My parents and another sister live in my town, so have been seeing them quite a bit as well. Nothing super exciting, but a nice, normal Christmas. I did get an instant pot and so excited to try it!

My sister here in town keeps asking when I'm having a baby and I'm like, back off, Ill tell you when we are!! It's like it wont be exciting when I tell you if you are always expecting it :( Her neighbor has been trying since June and isnt pregnant yet and that is making me nervous.

@motivatedsister how exciting, a pregnancy and a proposal soon! I cant wait until the 19th when I go see the doctor and get tested for zika. If we are clear, we are going to start trying right away (I think, hubby still wont talk about it...haha.) He keeps saying "we will see what the doctor says."

I dont have any plans for new years, we keep it low key. Putting Christmas stuff away probably. Hubby is working from home tomorrow and thinks he is getting sick. Hopefully not :(

@motivatedsister So he already has something picked out? That's great! but I don't understand why he sent you there then. haha

@Kirstie155 Sounds like you're having a lot of quality family time! I hope your hubby isn't getting sick! So...does your sister think you're trying already? or is she asking you when you're going to start? Either way that would get on my nerves. The 19th will be here before you know it!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the group, and just wanted to say hi :) I've been reading all of these posts and it seems like this is a pretty awesome and super supportive group of women. I'm happy I found this!

@motivatedsister Congratulations on your pregnancy! Also praying for super healthy 9 months and good luck with the proposal :)

So, my husband and I stopped preventing pregnancy back at the end of August, and so far we are still not pregnant. My doctor says that we are still very early into the "trying" part, and to stay positive. My husband just turned 40 and I'm 29, so I want to have a baby pretty much asap, we both do. I've been checking ovulation and just had a positve OPK the other day. Luckily hubby and I had just done the BD the night before haha so please keep your fingers crossed and prayers in the air for us!

As for weightloss, I've gained probably about 20 lbs since the wedding just over a year ago and I'm ready to get back under 200. I need to. I want to be healthier. I struggle a lot with making excuses to not workout and I have an addiction to fast food (Taco Bell is my kryptonite ). But my doctor also says that losing weight helps with fertility, so I'm very ready to get back on the healthy train. I just have to remember K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid)...during my weightloss journey I have found that I tend to be much more successful when I don't pressure myself too much or try to be ridiculously strict with my diet. As long as I'm healthy and I eat things that I enjoy (in moderation) and mix that with some power walking a few days/week - I usually start seeing results pretty quickly. Gotta up my weight lifting game though. So I'll keep you ladies updated with that progress.

I guess I'm just here to be surrounded by generally like-minded women with similar goals. I really could use an accountability partner. :(

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

@ataylorcpt Hi and welcome to the group! Sending baby dust your way!!! =)

I'm a fan of Taco Bell but I usually order a chicken quesadilla and nachos and cheese and I think together it's like 850 calories or something and doesn't keep me full for very long so I try to keep that in mind when I start getting the urge to go there. haha It sounds like you have a good plan in place, you've got this! =)

We're glad to have you and I'd be glad to be your accountability partner. I've already added you so feel free to message me about what you'd like from me to help you on your journey! =)

We look forward to getting to know you too! =)

EDIT: haha I just realized I put a smile at the end of everything and of course I've got my exclamation points in full use! haha =P

Weekend plans: Well Kayla, tonight I broke into my instant pot, and made some awesome pulled pork for dinner. I am now using it to make some chicken stock..yum! It was a Christmas present and Im so glad I got it, it makes involved foods so fast and easy! Tomorrow we are staying home and undecorating the house, and I am making some wings in the instant pot! My family always did appetizers like wings and spinach puffs and dips and things.

I really dont want to have to leave the house at all, it has been a super crazy busy couple of weeks! The vacation, the remodel (which has gone way off schedule and not done, will post pictures when it is) and my sister and her fiance staying with us for a week, Im so ready to just relax with hubby and veg.

By the way, I talked with the doctor today, and they confirmed that I would be doing a zika test and that its a blood test with results in 7-10 days!! Yay!!

@Kirstie155 Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend planned and that sounds like an awesome gift! I'm glad you're enjoying it! Awesome news from the doctors!

Turns out I do have some plans this weekend after all. Tomorrow I get to go get my car from the garage, yay! haha and we have to do some errands. Sunday I'll be going to my parents. We don't really have any specific plans for the New Year so probably just going to watch the ball drop and calling it a year. haha

I had this great post typed out the other day and it didn't post. Ugh.

Kayla, why is your car in the garage?
My dog ruins our new years eve every year. We have had her for 4 years, first year she had explosive diarriah all over the carpet after midnight when we were drunk and had to clean it up. The year after we were out of the country on our honeymoon. Last year she chewed her feather pillow that exploded bitty little feathers all over the place BC she did it over a vent. This year we woke up on Nye with multiple piles of fresh vomit on the carpet. Wth dog?! Still a bit angry about it. Most of the time she is fine so I don't get why she hates new years eve so much!

@Kirstie155 Maybe your dog doesn't like change...even if it's just the year changing? haha I don't know but that's pretty ironic that it's always something and it's on New Years Eve.

My car was in the garage because the gas lever that opens the door so I can get to my gas tank to fill it wasn't working. It would raise all the way up but would go at an angle and nothing was happening with the door so I couldn't get gas. That was replaced. I also got my battery checked since it died on me once (it needed replaced as well) and I had the air bag checked because it appeared to be staying off even when someone was sitting in the passenger seat but they tested it out and it worked fine. I don't have many passengers in my car anyway so it was something I had put off and since it was going in their anyway I just had them check it. Also got an oil change and lastly, I had to get the state inspection done which for PA includes an emissions test as well. It passed that. After an arm and half a leg later, the cars back home. haha

I wonder why your great post didn't post? What was it about?

The post was about my dog, just in greater detail and didn't sound so whiny. It was more thought out and like a funny antidote. But after typing it twice I didn't feel like doing it all over so I shortened it a bit. Oh well. I really do love her, but man, what the hell is with her acting out or being sick on new years?! So not cool. We went out and bought a $260 carpet cleaner when we woke up on nye instead of being lazy all day >.< then i had to vacuum and assemble a new carpet cleaner, then steam clean my bedroom carpet. Really not what I was hoping to do that day!

That sounds like an expensive trip to the garage, oh man! Glad your car is running safely though, winter is on its way.

@Kirstie155 Do people set off fireworks? Maybe she gets scared? But then you would probably have a similar problem in July. I'm glad she's okay though! and that does suck that you had to spend your day with the carpet cleaner but at least your carpets are all clean now! haha (Just trying to look on the bright side. haha)

Oh it was. I also forgot to mention that they cleaned off my back brake drums so they had the car a little over a week but when we dropped it off we told them to just fit it in and with the holidays (We dropped it off the Thursday before Christmas) and them being a little busy and having to order a part - it worked out. I'm glad to have her back and all ready for the New Year and winter.

@motivatedsister – Congratulations!! That’s so exciting! I hope the proposal goes well when it happens and your boyfriend doesn’t get too stressed out in the meantime.

@ataylorcpt – Welcome to the group!

@Kirstie155 – I’m glad you enjoyed your vacation! I hope the zika test is negative for both of you and you’re free to start trying. Please share remodel picks when you have a chance.

That’s really annoying your dog ruins New Years every year. Our perpetually broken dog had to spend 24 hours at the emergency vet a week before Christmas for eating some unknown toxic substance and getting severely dehydrated. My husband now teases the cats that all three of them could have gotten their own kiddie pools filled with catnip for Christmas if the dog hadn’t had to go to the vet :p

@WifiresGettingFit – I’m sooo sorry to have worried you! I kept thinking about this group but couldn’t find the energy to actually get on and participate :'( . I'm glad your car is running well and safe again. My husband finally gets to have his recalled passenger airbag replaced in a couple weeks, which will be a relief.

@VeryKatie – I’m sorry work has gotten so busy for you. Have you told your friends with fertility problems? I’m really worried about telling a really close friend who had a miscarriage a year ago and has been going through extensive fertility treatment for several months with no luck. I just don’t want to cause her any pain.

Oh no, your poor puppy! but that last part about the cats and the kiddie pools is hilarious!

@puffbrat Oh don't be sorry! It doesn't take much for me to worry. It's just how my mind works. I'm just glad that everything is okay! I do hope you start feeling much better so you can be around more. You were quite missed in case you can't tell =D I'm glad your husband will be able to get his airbag taken care of!

@WifiresGettingFit The really hilarious part about the cats and kiddie pools was after my husband told this to Diego (youngest cat) he turned and stared at the dog for a minute like he understood and was disappointed. I think the girls (older 2 cats) wish the dog had just stayed at the vet.

I completely understand. I tend to worry also. I think, I hope, I'm already on the path toward feeling better. At the least, being done with the holidays should help since they are fun but exhausting anyway.

    HI EVERYONE!!!

AH I have a day off from work and am back from all my trips (YAY).

I just got back from a week long trip for work from Montana. I'm so glad to be back. It was not a good trip. Allow me to tell you my story...

Day 1: Plane from Winnipeg to Denver and then from Denver to Bozeman. I puked the whole time because I can't take proper motion sickness drugs (due to being pregnant) so instead I was taking morning sickness pills (which don't work for motion sickness). So I essentially ate nothing that day (so healthy for a person who is growing a human - not).

Day 2 - 4: Not overly eventful other than, hurray, I was told be the f'ing secretary for the trip. If they wanted a secretary, they should have brought one. Not asked an engineer to act like one. Before we went, I told my boss "I will only go on this trip if I can provide actual value by being there. Traveling while pregnant is stressful so I don't want to go if I'm not providing value (i.e. I'm not going for training, and I'm not going if I'm just going to be doing diddly-squat and I'm not going if I can do the EXACT same job OR BETTER from a remote location - home). And what happened? It was a total waste of my time since not only was I asked to be the secretary, I was also told not to speak. YEP not to speak! The only woman in the room and she's been demoted and silenced.

Day 5: I was checking to see if lunch was safe for me to eat (required use of my phone since my computer wouldn't connect to the internet). My boss sends me an email saying "Please don't use your phone beside Tom". And I am so stressed at this point since I haven't seen a vegetable in 5 days that I started crying and had to leave the room and hide in the bathroom. Where I decide I need to call my husband to try to calm down because it was basically turning in to a panic attack (trouble breathing etc.). So I complain to my husband for like half an hour while trying to calm down saying stuff like "My boss is terrible, he doesn't even know the law. You know he asked me twice if I was pregnant and he should know THAT'S ILLEGAL to ask that!!!" and things like that... I tend to hold grudges about stuff like that... so... yeah. Anyway. I finally calm down enough to leave the bathroom. I go for a little walk outside and then come in and email my boss back and tell him I want to talk to him about his email. So I sit down with him privately and say that 1) he new I was having computer problems and 2) he knows they order lunch at 9 and 3) he knows I'm trying to find out if the food is safe. I explain it has been hard enough to find safe food that I haven't even been able to focus on it being nutritious food and that it is causing me a lot of stress without him telling me NOT to check if the food is safe. Then he says "oh I just meant since you're the junior person here to step out of the room if you need to use your phone. I was just giving you friendly advice like you're my daughter" And then I was like "If you wanted to tell me to step out of the room, then THAT's what you should have said. You need to remember that I'm you employee, NOT YOUR DAUGHTER and you need to speak/act professionally towards me and say what you actually mean." (I of course am probably being hormonal and over-reacting but oh well, I've always wanted to tell him that...)

Oh by the way - the next day he said he heard what I was complaining to Chris about in the bathroom - OH GOD. As if I wasn't stressed enough. He doesn't seem too mad though... I apologized. And am currently still thinking "*kitten*".

Day 6: Just as lunch was delivered and I was starving, I was told to drive one of the guys I came with to the hospital. So I took him to urgent care and they told him to go to the ER because he had symptoms that could be ... wait for it... MENINGITIS! WHICH IS FATAL FOR FETUSES!!! And he REFUSED to get tested for it cuz he didn't want a needle in his spine (it's the same type of needle used for an epidural so I would like to point out that he's a wimp cuz most women end up CHOOSING that since it's less painful than labour. So now I'm worried I've been exposed to meningitis and that my baby could be dying because of this damn trip. Note - I do not have any symptoms of it though.

So I have an appointment with my doctor at 12:45 to get her opinion. I will get stuck with as many needles as I have to in order to make sure baby is safe.

I'M NEVER TRAVELLING FOR WORK AGAIN *cries*

But it is nice to be home. I slept so well. And ate lots of veggies. Weighed myself this morning... and even eating all that rotten stuff on the trip, my weight is low... so I hope I'm going to be gaining enough during pregnancy. I think the work stress is really getting to me. I am planning on getting my midwife to write a note saying that my hours are limited to 40 a week and that I can't travel for work. I'm just so done.

On a nicer note. My husband, Chris, took me out to Original Joe's for dinner and I had a yummy soup with lots of veggies and we just chatted a lot all night (we went to church too since I couldn't go while I was on the plane lol). And it was just a nice evening. So glad to be home.

I'm going to set up a January spreadsheet as well. Sorry it's so late. I feel like I haven't had a moment since December 6 to myself sometimes lol.

Oh, Katie!! I don't have time for a full on response just yet, but I wanted to say your trip sounds AWFUL and I am so glad that you went to see your doctor about meningitis, how scary. **Big Hugs* you stay home with Chris and worry about growing that baby...phooey on work!

That's horrible Katie!! I would be so angry and crying a lot if I had gone through that. Who the hell decided that a pregnant woman (you're boss knows) is the right one to take someone to the urgent care/ER?? That must be comforting that your doctor isn't concerned. I'm so glad you're husband is a great support to you right now and I think it's awesome you spoke your mind to your boss.

I told a couple coworkers yesterday that being pregnant seems to have brought out my "I don't give a *kitten* attitude". Usually I'm the kind of person to smile and nod while someone complains to me about my work, coworkers, etc. as long as they aren't telling falsehoods or setting anyone up for unfair blame. Last week though, I had enough with one person who constantly complains about my department and I shot back at him that if he wants to plan better for our process he NEEDS TO ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS in a timely fashion and not wait several weeks or months. He still failed to respond to all of my coworkers outstanding questions to him.

@VeryKatie I agree with the others, that trip sounds just awful, dreadful, emotional, a complete disaster and don't even get me started on your boss. I feel like he's either "kinda sweet" or "really unprofessional" Doesn't seem like there is any in between. I hope your midwife gets you the note asap. I'm glad to hear that your doctor isn't concerned and I'm glad you're back home!
