Mary Ann, dont be afraid to get a second opinion if you are not happy with your doctors answers. if YOU know something isnt right and isnt normal, Fight for it and find the doctor who will help you.

Didn't do any measuring this week. I'm trying out an app on my phone that counts steps. So far it seems pretty accurate (when I remember to pick up my phone and take it with me). Yesterday was a rather sedentary day 547 steps. Not counting the steps I took when I forgot to take my phone with me. LOL Maybe I won't forget my phone so often now. But at least I will get an idea of how many steps I take when we go shopping and other places. So far today I haven't picked up my phone at all. I guess that's the down side of using an app on the phone. But when you're cheap like me (LOL) you like the price tag of free.

And all you really need is one good average day where you remember to take the phone with you at all times to get a general idea.

4K is considered the top of MFP's sedentary level, tad less for the general TDEE calc. Just as a goal.

I like cheap too. I mean..... thrifty!

Step count is only outside the house and is the entire week, not one day. I'm still playing with the app on my phone and never remember to pick it up when in the house. Even when I do think to pick it up, it doesn't want to count steps inside the house for some reason. Oh well, it gives me a rough estimate.

I got in two good days of beading this week! I got five necklace and earring sets done and a heart and rose.

Peace Sign Necklace and Earring set Metallic Teal/Black. Just waiting on the chain to come in so I can finish it. Also did a set in metallic purple/black, a set in metallic pink/black, a set in metallic Fuchsia/black, and a set in hot pink/black

And two views of the heart and rose sun catcher. I hang these in a window on a suction cup.

Busy this past week. I didn't do any beading. My whole body hurts from going to the U-pull it (Auto Salvage yard in case you are wondering what that is.) While it was a very clean and nicely kept one, the ground was large gravel, so my knees and ankles turned with each and every one of those 2000+ steps I took while there. My legs are still swollen as you can see from my measurements. Still not positive that my phone is picking up all of my steps even outside the house as I can walk the same distance and it will measure different steps each time. But I figure it gives me a rough idea just how many steps I do take when we are out and about.

Hope you all have a great week!

Sorry to hear about the difficult week and activity.

The phones & activity trackers use impact as indicator of a step.

Your height is used to calculate a default average stride length, your weight to calculate what the expected impact would be for that length.

Then actual impact is measured and the difference says what the new length is. Distance and time is pace. Pace and weight is calorie burn.
    That's how they do it.

But true, in hand your body is compensating for the walking already, so seeing impacts could be totally or partially masked that way.

It looks like your abdomen has continued to reduce throughout the time you've been following this approach. It's dropped substantially in size! It does look like you've had some fluid retention, but you have a good attitude about it. And it will leave soon. I hope your legs fell better soon.

Just for the fun of it, I carried my phone with me this morning. I counted 30 steps from my living room to my bathroom. I counted 30 steps and my phone counted 2. LOL I'd love to see me take that hallway in one step  Not to mention I would have to go around two corners in that one step each direction. But at least I am getting a fair idea outside the house. Yesterday was trigger point injections, so it was a rest day... of 1346 steps outside the house.

    Butterfly necklace
This is the only one I am doing of this pattern. LOL It's going in my cousin's stocking for Christmas this year.

    Legend of Zelda Shield
I don't think I'll be doing this one again either, it got quite boring by the time I finished it on the third day of working on it. Each and every bead is individually sewn to the bead next to it.

    Cool beading.

Have you confirmed the steps outside too?
Just thinking if it's that wrong inside, it could be missing a fair amount outside.

This weekend was the ASP (Allegany State Park) Geobash! Lots of hiking, but not nearly as much as we used to do on this weekend. Not in nearly as much pain either. So less pain really made it worth less steps. At some point I am going to compare the mileage in the app to the mileage on my handheld GPS. But I'm not feeling quite up to making my way out to the Jeep to get my handheld so that I can download the tracks. LOL Yesterday alone was 4526 steps taken outside the house. Have a great week!

This week I learned how to solder! I now have a nice set of copper ring splints. Some day I'll have the money to buy some sterling silver wire and make some that I won't have to clean twice a week. But at $7 a foot that will be a while. LOL But learning how to solder has opened a whole new world for my beading and jewelry making. I can't wait to see what my brain can come up with. I already plan to solder the stems on my roses making them even more sturdy and hopefully less sharp and pointy. Have a great week everyone!

Wow. Great skill to have. And look at your measurements - the scale is inching up, but the measurements are not. That's pretty cool... you're building muscle!

And what in the world would NY want for registration and certification if it even sounded like a medical device!

Feel recovered from the geocaching fun weeks ago?

shoulders felt like doing the workouts anymore?

Medical devices are taxed in NY now. Not to mention the fact if I make $2 they take $1 in SNAP and $1 in SSI away from me. In most towns it's around $25-50 per day to "peddle" wares in that town. Then you have to collect taxes, 4% state + 4-4.5% county. If you sell online you pay tax according to where it's shipped. It's a confusing mess. And from what I have looked at so far they want their "share" before you deduct costs from your earnings. Businesses are fleeing NY as fast as they can. Just in the last three years alone more than ten factories have left WNY and several talking about leaving. My eldest brother has worked at one factory 29 years and it's changed hands three times.

I have been feeling much better, not even sure why I haven't picked up my weights, maybe when we get back from all the ramming my other half wants to do I'll do some lifting. Guess I have to go get dressed now so we can leave. Thanks for the little push, I needed it.
