Congratulations to future_rockstar on making goal!!
Let's finish the month strong, friends.
I ran my half marathon this morning. Nice weather for it - 60F and overcast. Two laps around Central Park. The big challenge was the hills since there are absolutely none in Florida that I can train on. I came in just in the middle of the range I set for myself - didn't make my stretch goal but I was well above my "I'll be unhappy if I don't beat" goal. That last 2 miles were tough. So that's that. Thinking of taking a nap now LOL.4 -

Final total for April 111.65 miles did more leafletting than expected!2

30th: Ten .82 miles, 7.82m, warm up and 10k run, 3m purposeful walking - MTD 161.78
Did the Lancaster 3 Bridges 10k today. 11.2C, watery sunshine, humid, but no rain. Aim was to improve on my Feb 10k (1:10:15). I managed it in 1:06:16. I'm delighted..... a 4 minute improvement. I'm hoping to get my stretch target of 1:04 when I do the Pilling 10k in late May. @clepant (I think) I took a spoonful of honey in a plastic bag - struggled a bit with the bag .... but it was a fab idea.
I'm shattered now hahahaha

@Janet: Congrats on your half Marathon and bless you for doing two laps around Central Park. I never want to repeat anything in a race. I even hate out and backs because I know what is ahead yet.
Grass cutting, more grass cutting and more grass cutting today.

This may be dangerous because I'm pretty tired right now but I wanted to update again knowing it's the last day of the month and knowing Dave has been really busy lately. So please forgive me if I've made any mistakes LOL!
Congrats going out to belle_74, fanncy0626, and lisah8969 as they cross the goal line!
@clepant - I really didn't mind going around twice (other than having to climb Harlem Hill twice) because Central Park is so very, very beautiful. But it did sting a little when the leader lapped us at mile 6.
@k80flec - congrats on the 10k and shaving off so much time! Well done.2 -
@Janet - That's a pretty good job! When you can't train for a big hill, it can be a real killer. Back when I used to run, I trained for hills all the time. When I moved to Spokane I quit training hills and I ran Bloomsday. I did well to the hill and after the hill but I had to walk about 3/4 of the way up the hill. I really feel your pain on the Central Park hills.2

You marathoners are truly AMAZING! I've never ran more than 7 miles without stopping so when you guys say all that you do I am soooo impressed! Good job
Thank you to all you well wishers! I now have the ok to walk (some) & do my bike (without resistance) so May looks bright for me!!!
@clepant : I had a torn meniscus. They fixed me up arthroscopically. It was breezy!!0 -
Finished out April with another 2 miles. Now it's on to May and more time to get out there and move.
April total 56.75 miles.

@vhuber: Glad your surgery went well and that you are doing well. I had lots of PT for mine. One for Workmanship Comp which was a waste and once more to do it right, but still almost two years till it felt okay but never the same again.
@Janet: I did a flat half last summer and it was so different because of the lack of hills. I hope to do Columbus this fall which will be no hills and I will need to train on a more levels area if possible around here.

Happy Dancing !!!!
@clepant - training in a hilly area could make you super speedy on the flat.
@vhuber - take care and let your knee heal ... and I'm with you in awe of anyone who does any run with marathon in the title. I'm still trying to work my way up to 10 miles - where I may stop. My poor old bones take a long time to recover from the longer runs.1 -

CONGRATS to @MICHELLEG1965, @POSTOLACHE and @DJMICHEALS on making GOAL this month!!! :drinker:
I have several more comments and replies to posts from the last couple of days that I will add to the May thread when I update it next.
