    Today's plan:

work all day, then power yoga at 5.

    br: quest bar
    sn: grape tomatoes
lu: shrimp cocktail with no sugar cocktail sauce
    sn: shishito peppers
    di: lean sirloin, asparagus

Hubs is out of town, I'm fending for myself!

    Today, final:
Okay, first, an admission: I'm going up for a big promotion at work. There's lots of prep for it between now and December, and I won't know if I've gotten it until May.
Sometimes workouts get missed, and a skosh more wine gets drunk. Thus is life.
    Today, final:

    br: quest bar
    sn: grape tomatoes
    lu: shrimp cocktail and asparagus
    sn: more grape tomatoes
di: lean sirloin, some blue cheese, some onion, and the shishito peppers
    de: sauvignon blanc.
    No workout.
But I *think* I'm a few days ahead of the game now and should get all of my week day work outs in. AND hubs comes home tomorrow, thank Goodness.

    Hi ladies,
sorry, got busy, but have been keeping to the diet. although last night i was at a party and had lots of white wine. so, yes, cheated, but i didn't eat any bad food. so, i count it as a win, as there was lots of yummy food.
I"ve been watching all the news coverage of Irma. it is addicting. So tomorrow marks day 14. i'm worried about adding in good carbs.
need to do some reading to see what i should eat.
Thanks ladies for the concern. Sorry i worried you!

Happy to see you back. B)

    oday's Plan:

b egg burrito with hatch valley salsa (trader joe's), cantaloupe
    s green smoothie
l ak mak turkey sam with assorted raw veggies and bolthouse as a dipper
s carrot/orange freshly made juice (my supervisor treated me to one from Jamba Juice on Friday...I am going to make her a fresh one for tomorrow*).
d roasted veggies, jasmine rice, air fryer salmon
    d yogurt

bedtime sleepy time tea and pistachios

Meals took a turn at lunch yesterday. Made the slow cooker turkey mixture*...had that for lunch/dinner when it was done. Made a batch of Joe's Mean Green juice...had that...did not make carrot/orange. Had all the stuff for the mean green so wanted to use that up first.

    yogurt and pistachios for dessert.

*I am officially sick of this stuff. Hope it freezes well, cuz that is where it is going! Ugh. Too much of a good thing is too much of a good thing! groansmileyf.gif

    Monday turned out like this:

    Joe's Mean Green
    two light babybels
    killer dave's sprouted
    sam turkey cheese mustard
    Joe's Mean Green
salmon, rice, roasted veggies (jasmine rice, eggplant, mushrooms, onions, red bell pepper, zucchini)
    Yogurt

I go on kicks. This is my latest. The jasmine rice is a personal choice. I like it better than brown. 1/4 c dry...no butter. No need. EVOO on the veggies and then final minute steamed together in rice cooker. Lots of seasonings...touch of salt.

Joe's Mean Green...fan of Joe Cross. Would love to do a juice reboot. Maybe one day.

i added in a piece of Eziekel toast and an apple. i couldn't believe how sweet a gala apple tasted. Still down another pound. 9lbs so far! feeling good.
had chicken breast stuffed with sun-dried tomato pesto, mozzarella cheese and spinach w/ mushroom, asparagus & red onion stir fry. Yum! Made Orzo pasta for the hubby and kids. Wanted some, but resisted. It is getting easier.

Magic, i can't imagine feeling good enough about all this to eat rice. That seems so risky. lol. Although i did make some zucchini bisque soups and added about 1 Tbsp brown rice as a thickener.

Sabine, good luck on the promotion!!

NO rice tonight...just two servings of bread. However, if I were having rice, it would be jasmine...(full disclosure)...I am sick of brown rice. I use a food scale and measure 1/4 cup dry. Use a rice cooker...makes the best stuff without added fat. The veggies with the evoo used to roast makes it a great meal.

OK, that's it for now. Later, mates.

PS Perhaps it is that I am not sick of brown rice...maybe I just don't know how to cook it. But it seems jasmine is so very good. Kinda confused at this moment.

    Today's plan:

30 min run, Pilates at noon

    Br: Quest bar
sn: grape tomatoes (so tasty and sweet!)
lu: I think a simple chopped salad from Subway with a low fat dressing and some sardines on top
    sn: orange jello
di: good question! I have a work event. I'm betting a salad and two glasses of wine

If you haven't tried salad at Subway, it's not a bad option. You can put all the veggies, or add one of the meats. They chop it up really nicely, and then shake it. You can use their sandwich toppings, or they have a few dressings, including Ken's low fat/low sugar italian style dressing. Not as good as Panera, but fast, easy, and cheap.

    Good morning,

Sabine, i have had a subway salad, and i was impressed. I love how they chop it up.it has been awhile ago, before SB, but i had forgotten about that. I need to remember that option!

I had a panera green goddess cobb salad & cup of french onion soup yesterday for lunch. It was yummy! didn't even eat all of either of them. I have noticed that my appetite has gone down. Usually in the morning i'm ready for a good breakfast, but at other meals, i don't seem to want the same quantities i did before. I guess getting out of the carb/ sugar cycle really works!

Had spaghetti squash with meatballs and homemade sauce, arugula salad and a piece of multigrain garlic bread. Yummiee!
Still down a few ounces this morning.

having a mexican egg scramble for breakfast!

Magic, those veggies look amazing! I love roasted veggies. In the winter i'm all about roasted root veggies- so easy and the boys eat them without a fight!
I think cooking the rice correctly makes all the difference too. Plus Jasmine rice is so much better and brown rice.

Hi, folks, I'm back on-line. We were very lucky--all we lost was TV, internet, and landline phone service till last night.

Sabine--good luck on the promotion. We're all pulling for you.

Magic--I know brown rice is OK on SB, white rice is not. Where does jasmine fall? I've never had it, and I'm wondering whether to try it. Also, do you roast your veggies in a toaster oven?

VK--you're off to a great start! Keep up the good work.

My inspiration to juice comes from watching Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead

    http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/

and meeting Joe Cross at a book signing (May 2015).

Great motivation to move me towards a more plant based diet.

    https://www.netflix.com/watch/70173634?trackId=13752289&tctx=0,0,b4a66983a4f2b3986da9770fa364ed0785bd836a:b2cb5f738029ee2961b99a059cc8baa72294563d

There is also a part two. Just some background as to why I am going to juice two meals a day ... at least for this weekend. I have never gone on a reboot (juice only for a period of time). I would like to.

Smoothie is sure a lot easier. That is a huge plus for me. Not so much time involved. Plus you are getting all that fiber.

I don't think I can juice only while working. I know I can replace one meal...two is very iffy.

I did have Joe's Mean green last night instead of dessert. That was a first for me. I am just going to play around with it for awhile.

    Today's Plan

    b orange/carrot
    s light baby bels
l killer dave's turkey and cheese
    s yogurt
    d dave's mean green/salmon
s popcorn plain made in microwave 40 grams and sleepy time tea

My vacation time will be coming up sometime...not sure when. I am at my current job two years Sept 23rd. So I am now getting two weeks.

Will take one week and with the weekends, do at least ten days...start on Friday. A ten day reboot. Maybe by the time I get to the second weekend, I will be so into it, I could go the additional five days.

I really don't know how these people go so long without eating. I don't fall asleep very well or at all when I am hungry. So I would have to do this reboot on vacation.

I would like to see how much better my arthritis would be on a reboot. Since making significant changes in 2008 when I discovered SB, so much better. I can now walk...and a lot. But lately pain at night.

Last night for the first time in awhile, no pain. And I had quite a bit of mean green yesterday.

    Joe's Mean Green Ingredients:

    kale
    cucumber
    celery
    green apples
    lemon
    ginger

Part of it for me and smoothies is the fiber, part of it is that I can add protein and fats to a smoothie as well. That's a much more satisfying meal, for me. Good luck if you decide to do a reboot! and Enjoy your vacation!

Man, the mean green is doing the trick...really wiping out cravings. Dinner tonight, salad 1/2 spinach 1/2 baby greens, northern beans, pico do gallo, avocado, spritz of evoo and lemon ...really tasty.

Just got back from sprouts...major buy...will juice more tomorrow.

    Tomorrow's plan

b hot lemon water with ginger, carrot orange juices
    S mean green
    L. 1/2 sammy the ususal but only one half ...salad as described above
    S. Mean green
    D. Salad as described above...small portion of wild caught salmon
    D. Tea and pistachios

Two nights in a row, no pain during the night, while trying to sleep. I like that. Hoping it can be traced to the Joe's Mean Green and Carrot/Orange.

Need to expand my recipe base, obviously. But woke up at my usual 4 and feeling great.

Total reboot with juice only (ten days max for me) ... I see that ONLY when I am on vacation. Not sure when that will be.

    HAGDE!

Lots of great information in those two movies. I like this bit of wisdom from Dr. Fuhrman...your changes have to be sustainable. He was the doc that monitored Joe during his 60 day reboot. Very reputable.

“permanent change only results from permanent changes in diet and lifestyle.”
