    16th: 4.25 miles - MTD 75.00
    17th: 10 miles, 4.83 m running, 5.17 m purposeful walking - MTD 85.00

@kar328 - I was surprised that my blood test had been non fasting, the nurse said that was no longer necessary. I agree - it makes me smile too - 40 plus pounds ago blood pressure, cholesterol, the works -they were all in a poor way. Haven’t we done well, losing the weight, changing our lifestyle, getting off the meds <3o:)<3 When is your 4 miler?
Parkrun today, followed by another couple of miles. I have a 10k at the weekend that I don’t feel prep’d for ... then a 10 miler four weeks later.
@Leanz - how’s your recovery going? The ankle?

@k80flec: I am done with cholesterol tests. Went through the same crap and was told the same things. Now I told them, no more. I think their mission is to put everyone on cholesterol reducing drugs no matter what the results.
Congrats on your bronze award. Awesome effort gal!
    @Dave: What a beautiful gift!

I just held my 25th and final Jump Rope for Heart event at my school this past week for the American Heart Association. We still have donations coming in till this Tuesday but we smashed our record this year. Our prior record was $26,915.00 and we are currently at $28,225.00. My school has raised over $305,000.00 in 25 years. My coordinator told me that our school has the highest online increase in donations in the country for this year. What a nice way to finish my career.

Feb. 16 and 17: Lost my internet last night so logging two days. From 40’s yesterday and flooding to 2 inches of snow today, to 70’s and more flooding on Monday. This weather is just crazy.
Adding 21 miles of walking 10 miles, walk/jog of 3 miles and 8 miles on the bike.
    TTD:179 miles

From what I understand the way of thinking for statins is to calculate your risk of cardiac disease in the next ten years by some algorithm, rather than saying your cholesterol is over 200, herer's your prescription. My doctor says he'd treat it if it was 7% or higher and my one from last year was at 0.6%.

The four miler is April 21st. It'll be my third year doing it. Last year I ended up walking some of it, I tried to keep up with my trainer and one of her other clients (tall, thin, perfect, who thinks she struggles  ) and went too fast. I'm trying to work on the jealousy mind games for this one and may just have to start well behind them, so their running past me won't be an issue. There's a colorectal 5K in March I may do, I did it two years ago, one of the guys in my gym classes is a survivor. I skipped last year's due to my achilles and luckily I did, something happened with the route directions and they all ended up running over a mile extra.

No miles to add today, but did a TRX class where we did a lot of moves standing on top of a BOSU ball. My core went WTF Karen?

Feb. 18: Did an easy Galloway Run/Walk for an hour today. I am really trying to ease back into the running. May not be up to the half in May but not checking it out yet. I just do not want another year off of running. My bathroom scale is not happy with me and I am not going to upset the knees and heel again. So slow and steady goes the pace. I figure once I retire, I can dedicate the appropriate time into it. So for now, I will work on my 5k and 10k pace.
Adding 11 miles today of a 5 mile walk this morning and 4 Galloway miles this afternoon followed with 2 miles on my bike around the neighborhood afterward.

@K80FLEC - CONGRATULATIONS on your award!! That's fantastic!! :star: And that was a pretty tough romantic act for me to follow...but I did make her very happy with my gifts so I'll consider that a success.

@CLEPANT - That's wonderful about the money you've raised for Jumprope for Hearts, this year and cumulative!

Got another good cardio workout in today with 6.0 miles on the stationary bike and 0.5 mile on both the StairMaster and brisk treadmill walk each. That was enough for GOAL! Now on to the BONUS MILES!:+1:

Feb. 19: Adding 10 miles. Managed to get my chemo pup out for a walk today. Poor guy has been staying clear of other dogs and we don’t want other dogs sniffing g his chemo urine so today worked out. He is coming up on treatment 5. Also did some indoor biking because of rain.

@Dave: Congrats on your workouts and making goal.
@wanderan : Congrats on goal too! I see the resemblance to Kenya Sedgwick too. Perhaps relatives?
@Janet: yep...still lots of time. Will see wher my workouts take me. Most definitely will be a finish it run and not for a new PR.

Work and/or knee have made me miss a few days this month. Looking at the rest of the month, I can't miss another day or I miss my goal. Sorry work...I WILL be leaving on time this week. LOL! As for the knee, I am going a bit slower which my brain doesn't like, but the leg does. :-)

Happy Tuesday, if you had yesterday off for the Holiday I hope it was a great day.

This freezing rain stuff is for the birds. Our driveway is a sheet of glass and some of it ended up in our garage so it is just a mess. I thankfully had a long four day weekend so completely hibernated without stepping even a toe outside my house from Thursday afternoon until this morning. Hubby had to work every day though, and fell on his keister yesterday when he came home last night, even after putting about 50 pounds of sand mixed with ice melt. He's okay and all that hurt was his pride. Oh the joys of living in the country.

@darkrider42, I saw you were forecasted for the same crap as we had *AND* snow, stay safe. #joy

My hunter/fisher/outdoorsman sister in Kato is tired of winter so you know it's getting a touch long. ;)

@k80flec Congrats on the awards. Sometimes there is nothing you can do about cholesterol because of heritage. I have a cousin on one side who is 6'2" and maybe 180# soaking wet, married to a nutritionist, with ridiculously high cholesterol and blood pressure. He lives the healthiest lifestyle of anyone I know, exercises and managing his diet like a boss. On the other side, my cousin is 5'2", 300# with the best lab work and thinks exercise is a vulgar word.

@darkrider, that was an awesome gift!

@clepant, I agree with you on the drug issue.
