Forgot to add I’m only 5ft tall so have very little leeway, and have gained quite a few pounds back, hoping to get back to around 111 pounds which is where I was.

Welcome, please start a thread below :)

Hey Robert! Seems we have a bit in common. I am 42 from the Southeastern US. I started at 303 lbs. in January and am down 47 lbs. through a combo of IF and and OMAD. My current goal is to enjoy my meal tonight, and that's enough for me these days. This way of eating is revolutionary (at least from my vantage point.)

Although I cannot speak to the eradication of depression or anxiety, I can tell you the cessation of the feeling that food is ruling my thoughts and desires throughout the day has been a relief for me on a very acutely conscious level. I get more done at work, and have more fun playing, because I just don't think about food all day. In full disclosure, I do plan my meals with thoughtfulness, prepare them with anticipation, and enjoy them with presence. All in all, I feel it is a very healthy relationship, which is something I have not been able to claim for some time personally.

So welcome to the group, and to OMAD! We are here to help.

Thanks. Can say that I'm recovering from overwhelming feelings much quicker.

I like your attitude. Going to start putting more thought into meal prep and planning.

Good evening. My name is Robert and I live in the Southeast US. 44 years young.

I'm 5'11 and currently 241lbs, began at 273 in early January. I want to be below 200lbs on average, with a long-term goal of 180lbs and 10% bodyfat.

Will be starting OMAD tomorrow. The eating window will be between 4-8 PM, intially.

Let's say I've had a lifetime of mood and weight issues. Failed relationships and unfulfilled potential. Well meaning doctors...

I've had some successes and am grateful. However, I'm tired of feeling so up and down. It has been to the point of considering an early exit.

My latest search led me to this "insane" idea of intermittent fasting. Luckily, I'm an open-minded guy. The science made sense.

Why not optimize it with OMAD? Food would no longer control me, nor the never ending mood cycles. Could this cure bipolar? Depression? Anxiety?

My doctor is astounded and intrigued. He is on board.

I'm willing to give it a whirl.

IF has resulted in 32lbs lost (from 273 to 241) since January. However...

This is a constant battle - multiple meals in a short window. Just more chances to binge.

I started using this app 1/2 the way into my journey. Have been watching and commenting on Joe's videos for a month.

Long story short, I need this and a little support.

Will do all I can to help anyone here.

    Thanks.

This last week I ate a high carb lunch which I almost never do now. I felt really bad the rest of the day, really down. I think how we eat can help us at least some. Good luck!

I'm a different human when keeping my carb totals lower and consistent. For a risk of TMI: I'm also far more frisky and performance is much better.

Wrote this earlier in the wrong thread. Thanks EstrangedTiger. Today though is when I'm actually starting.

Today is my first day. I feel like I have a disability because if my weight. I have 100lbs to lose. I started fasting after reviewing Dr. Fung's Obesity Code book. Very eye opening. I don't have a problem with the fasting. I lost approximately 20lbs but now have gotten stuck at 287 for about 2 or 3 weeks. I started doing keto, recommended by my wife, but I don't think it's helping me. Maybe I have the ratios wrong but it's not functioning right for me. I do have occasional alcoholic drinks on weekends but that's not every weekend and it's not cocktails, more like whiskey stuff. This weight has me thoroughly depressed. I feel broken everyday because if it. Family and friends really don't understand how depressing it is to me. I refuse to buy any more suits to wear if I can't fix this. My son is also overweight and I believe that if I'm able to be successful, he will follow his father's example. I can't exercise properly because of a torn meniscus. I used to be in good shape but that's when I had the time and opportunity to exercise 2 hours everyday except on weekends. Your video of losing that weight in 11 months came across very sincere and I could relate to it, so I'm here now. Hopefully I learn how to do this right from you and this community. Thank you.

    Hi,

    2 to 3 weeks isn't necessarily that long for a plateau. I've had a 3 1/2 week long plateau.

Just put your body in a state of the lowest stress possible. And don't be stuck on any particular diet or eating plan. OMAD only. Remember, don't look for perfection. The only thing I had going for me was...inflexibility. I didn't listen to anyone but just kept the goal steadfast in my mind. That's about it.

    Welcome!!!

Been doing OMAD since February and I've been doing well. I fell off the wagon for about two weeks and felt terrible! I'm back on now and so far since February I've lost 10 lbs with a few weeks break and a little bit of cheating here and there. I feel amazing when I am sticking to it and have slowly been changing my eating habits to be more healthy. Since I've been on OMAD I've slowly been losing my cravings for unhealthy food and habits and if that's all I get out of this I will be happy but the weight loss has been awesome too! I started a diet last year and managed to lose 20 lbs but couldn't stay on it permanently as it didn't give me enough calories a day to not be hungry all the time. Now that I've switched to the OMAD lifestyle it is easier to maintain. I have loved reading everyone's comments on here, they are encouraging!!

Reason for Starting: Control binge eating

Hi! Here's more about my reasons for starting OMAD: Although currently close to goal weight, I have a recurring issue with binge eating, particularity cheap carbs. Given my druthers, I will consume baked goods and cold cereal to way past the point of satiety. I have attempted, several times, to tame this with Keto and Paleo diets, but neither diet was sustainable, and they eventually triggered prolonged binges.

I am tired of yo-yo dieting, and gaining/losing the same 20-30 pounds. My build is too light to get away with carrying more than a little extra weight (highest weight: 210). I'm also getting too old to continue this pattern, and need to commit to something sustainable.

I've been doing OMAD for a week, consuming 1500-1800 calories at a sitting, and I think I can keep this up. Less time planning/cooking/eating, more time for other things, more energy overall, clearer thinking. It was tough at first to overcome lifetime eating patterns and triggers, but I think the worst is over.

    Thanks for reading!

Hello, I am a Swede living in Switzerland, bin overweight most of my life. Was mobbed in school and eating was the way I went. Have been trying doing exercise and martial art and has helped it not go totally out of control. But found out with 25 that I have an Aorta Valve Problem ( only having 2 flaps instead of 3), never saw and a direct problem with it. But with my second marriage and my sofar only kid I was in a marriage where I need to do everything work and take care of my son and it went so far I got problem with my colon and needed surgery, small one first in Sep 2011 then Feb 2012 a week before my 50 b-day, the second one did not want to heal well so I got a Stoma in Sep 2012 I also got separated from my Second Wife and got Custody of my Son. They then found I had a big Fistel nest deep in my colon, but because I had not had a Heart checkup in many years I was sent to a Heart Specialist he directly phoned the Hospital to get an appointment to swallow a camera so they could see my Heart problem better because my Heart was very Big. There they found that I had been born with the Aorta Valve Problem and that my Aorta now Was 5 cm in diameter ( 4.5 is very dangerous). So was a bit of a chock. Then had a Surgery in Nov 2012 to fix the infection in my Colon, was then 2 more time on the surgery table in Jan 2018 because of problems with the healing. At the end of Feb 2013, I had my Heart Surgery all went well, The had the had 3 more colon surgery and 1 more to take the Stoma away so since Nov 2014 no more Hospital. I Meet my current wife online in Feb 2014, and visit her in Thailand Spring of 2014, She visit Me in beginning of 2015 and I joined Mfp in April 2015 with 121 Kg I then lost down to 98 Kg for Sep 2015 after that my gradely has come back and I Was 118 Kg this Easter. Then found on Youtube something about Water fast and dis 2 73 Hours fast over the 2 weekend after Easter lost weight but thought this can not be the way not eating a whole weekend, started searching found Dr. Berg and need OMAD videos and now found OMAD revolution for around 2 weeks ago. Now trying and have 22 hours fast windows and 2-hour eating. So far ok except when my Wife cooking she is a 5* Asian cook so very nice food and plenty of it.

Forgot Have HPB and take Medication
Also, need medication for my Mechanic Valve Blood thinner

    Thanks for listening
