Last pregnancy i gained 23.5 and this pregnancy im trying to gain just what i need again but i feel so scared of getting gestational diabetes that im eating the lower end of what i would normally eat. I'm actually trying very hard to gain. My first pregnancy I gained 17 lbs the whole pregnancy and it wasn't enough. This pregnancy seems to be heading in the same direction. I'm very active, I normally eat about 3000 calories a day. Right now I'm eating about 3200 calories a day, but finding it hard to eat more. I've started eating a lot more stuff like cheesecake. I have some extreme food intolerances, so a lot is unappealing, but there a few foods I'm really enjoying right now like chicken wraps, porridge, shepherd's pie and cake Essentially my OB just tells me to eat everything I can to keep weight on, so thats what I'm doing.0 -

Background: I gained about 60lbs with baby #1, lost about 25lbs by 8 mo post partum and then I got pregnant again with baby #2. So this pregnancy I began about 35lbs heavier than I was with my 1st baby. I had been actively calorie restricting and losing weight when I found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks along, so I had dropped some additional weight early in my pregnancy due to that.

I gained 60 last pregnancy, but this pregnancy I ate 300 cals less per day on average than last time so what CICO would predict (24 lbs difference) was pretty close to being spot on.
Had my 2nd baby girl March 1st. I had a scheduled c-section but things didn’t go according to plan. I was forced to deliver vaginally with no meds, but at least I made it to the hospital in time to deliver, and she’s perfect!

Feeling much better this week! Just can’t seem to eat too much at a time otherwise I’d feel nauseous
Saw an exercise physiologist and we went through my routines and concerns. It was a great talk & made me feel more excited for working out with this little one inside and outside of me, lol.
Only bad thing this week: didn’t get to eat my own bday cake cuz there’s no actual celebration like before But there was a free dinner and that satisfied my pregnant taste buds haha!

My nausea has finally gone away and it is so much more enjoyable to eat. I still can't stuff myself at a meal so I have to keep including higher calorie items in my diet. I've been feeling the baby move and kick for the past 2 weeks, loving it so much. Anatomy scan this Tuesday, can't wait to see the little guy.1 -

Havent really gained anything since late Feb, which is strange. My eating is pretty much the same, and my workouts are non existent. Getting so close to the end now, as I had my first baby at 37 weeks.. wondering if Ill go to 40w this time or not! Ive been experiencing things that I very specifically remember in my last 2-3 weeks of pregnancy with my son!
I was SO sure I was going to be more to +40 lbs gained, but with the unexpected changes in gaining, its looking like Ill be within the 35 lb range.. close to same as my first pregnancy! Since I started off this pregnancy 30 lbs lighter, the post partum weight loss should be less of a mountain to climb than last time! Still hard work, but less of it! Haha

I wonder when will my weight increase... My mom has similar pre-pregnancy stats as mine & said she only gained about 8 kg when she had me (I’m the first kid). The book I got from ACOG said gaining 1/3 of total pregnancy weight by week 20. That means I have about 21 days to gain 2-3 kg... doable? I kind of feel like I’m hungry but don’t really know what to eat.0 -

Your weight gain is completely reasonable, don't stress too much about it. Weeks 18-26 are supposed to be more rapid weight gain weeks, if you look at the research. Weight gain usually isn't completely linear with periods of more rapid weight gain and periods of slower weight gain. If you are hungry, don't feel like you have to deprive yourself, just chose healthy, filling options.0 -

She's here! Last weigh in was +33.4 lbs at 36 weeks! Baby came at 36 weeks + 4 days! I didnt really gain anything my last 6 weeks of pregnancy.
Im now 2 weeks postpartum and only lost 15lbs of that weight, although baby was only a petite 5 1/2 lbs of that. Im so ready to get more focused on losing again.
