Thanks Farback and RodaRose.
I thought it was a good choice because I celebrated the 50th anniversary of my birth on that trip. I was hoping to go again in 2019, but I was unsuccessful in winning a permit in the lottery.1 -
Last month, I paddled the River O Green in Tampa on St. Patrick's Day with a couple of friends! Such a fun day and 5 miles of paddling done!

I need to take a picture next week.... This was week two of our city Spring Ultimate league. Last week was cold and raining. Oh joy. Today's weather was great; no wind, nice temperature, light out later, enough clouds that the sun's not in your eyes facing west. Yes!
I keep telling myself year after year that this is probably my last year. Too fun though. I picked up a new (to me) set of cleats, and I'll play at least another year. My team's name is "Everything Hurts." I'm the only one on my team over 50, so I find it humorous. I may have some aches tomorrow.
Looking forward to three Rogue River trips and a Channel Islands dive trip this summer. And I'll probably play Summer Ultimate if we field a team. If not; disc golf.
The Old McKenzie Highway ought to be open soon for bikes; that's always fun. That's a picture I actually do have from a few years ago...

Got in a couple miles in the kayak after a good 8 mile walk today. Saw a pair of mature bald eagles who live on this stretch of river.

Want that boat!!!!!1

Did a Century bicycle ride last Sunday from outskirts of London to the coast and back. Lovely ride as a charity fundraiser, mostly on quiet country roads.
This is approaching what I call "the green wall" of the South Downs knowing that the nasty climb up Ditchling Beacon is ahead.

My girlfriend and I went for a nice long walk in the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Even the Texans are saying it's unseasonably warm. My pallid Canadian skin is almost as glowingly white as my gf's shirt.

With the outside exercise I am more tanned in mid May than I was after a week in Jamaica in March

I wear a Fitbit Charge HR2 24/7. My post-retirement job in lawn maintenance is hard on that kind equipment, so a wear a terry cloth wrist band over the activity tracker to protect it. (Stylish, I know.)
The results of nearly two months of 10 hour days, 6 days a week, in the US Midwest sun.

Ten mile walk in steady rain. Saved big on sunscreen! Who’s the idiot now?4 -
Another 10 mile day in much better weather. Went to Grand Pre National historic site. This is awolfville harbour at low tide. 30 foot change. We’re a lot like Texas.

Yesterday, two of our local paddling clubs hosted a birthday paddle for our sole living founder. He will be 89 years old next week. He doesn't paddle much class IV anymore, but he still paddles. In fact, yesterday he was in a tandem canoe with his nephew.
This was a relatively non-threatening section of the North Santiam River. The rapids are class II with a couple that you could call II+ at some flows.
I was paddling the pink canoe near the right side of the photo. I'm in a yellow drysuit back up under the tree trying to patch a wrist gasket that tore when I was putting my suit on. Bummer. The birthday boy is in the stern of the tandem canoe near the center of the image.

Goodness me I would never in my lifetime here in the uk see anything like a tortoise in the wild. How lovely. That would have made my day2

Our Ultimate team won the championship for Spring League last week. There were only four teams. Everybody had a great time! Yeah, that diorama is the trophy. We sign the back, and it lives behind the bar at Squirrel's.
I think I was the only player on our team over 50 for spring league. We have about half the team over 50 for our summer league team.

Not a swimming hole, I'm guessing...

Everest Base Camp trek--that red coated person is me. One heckuva two-week exercise excursion.

Saw this little guy while fishing last week. He was so still that I was not sure he was alive at first.

We must hear more about this adventure. Please give us some details, Jackie!

Just back from five days rafting the Wild & Scenic Rogue River. We had a layover day at Horseshoe Bend, but that set us up for an epic 19 mile day into strong wind the next day. I'm still recovering. AND... I'm ready to go back.
Here's three of us relaxing in the shade at Horseshoe watching the river slip by:
And here's the other raft running out the bottom of Blossom Bar:
Then came the two kayaks through the main move at Blossom:
And the tiny (27 feet by 70 feet) spit of wet sand covered with goose poop that we had to make our last camp at:
No Rogue River trip would be complete without having the giant jet boats zoom by in the lower stretch of the river below Blossom, Devil's Stairs, and Gleason Bar:

Kilroy's first kayak adventure. We were actually doing duck retrieves but I had the kayak in the back and decided I needed to get on the water. He wasn't too sure about it....there really isn't much room on there for both of us.

Just back from our second Rogue River trip for the year. Five days. Four people (all over 50). Great weather. Great food. Nice flows. So many smiles, I will probably be grumpy when I have to go back to work Tuesday.
Jump-off rock below Clay Hill:
Paddle boarding near camp:
One of the kayakers surfing at the Solitude Wave:
Kayaks in Mule Creek Canyon:
Pothole near Clay Hill:
Bald eagle flying over Half Moon Bar; this bird was being harassed by an Osprey:
One of our little camps:
Me rowing Black Pearl Honeybee through Upper Black Bar:
