Went to the gym before work today to sneak in an extra swim.
2.2km is all I have time for before work. But it was good. Spent most of the time seeing with one of my "swimming partners."
I'll hit the pool door another 6.6km after work.0 -

1mile today - was going to be longer but lack of staff at pool meant I only had 30 mins

4150y today. A new distance record for me. As I was swimming up past the 2 mi mark, I started to see how gutzy can want to surpass his longest swim. I realized that I'd never seen my lap counter go into the 80s before. Or 90s. What would happen if I did 100 laps? It's not a fancy counter. Can it go that high? I might have to find out...
I stayed for the cardio class, but mostly because I was expecting my niece to show up. I was too tired for the usual intervals. Today, other than being hungrier, earlier, I'm fine I decided that in order to keep working on endurance, I'd like to get a 2-mile swim in twice a month. Fridays seem like the quietest pool days for that. A great way to end the week.3 -

skinnyrev, way to go! 5 min is a huge chunk of time! I have a hard time getting an accurate timeline for my swims because I either forget what time I started (Was it 3:45 or 3:55??) or I forget to check the clock when I stop.
I love the varied goals and workouts of this group. I was swimming along this week one evening thinking to myself, I think I'm there. I think I finally look like a swimmer. When I started 4 years ago, I definitely didn't. Such inefficient swimming, terrible technique, almost no endurance... it was all pretty terrible. Except that I loved it

This has been the longest trip yet. 54 days.
But because I stopped trying to isolate myself, I had more fun.
Broke and set 4 new personal records for swimming distance. To me that is more significant than the working get paid to do here.
And I'm getting closer to looking like I can swim as far as I do.3 -
Our Pool re-opens on Monday - I expect it to be a madhouse of lane swimmers getting their Fix.
I plan on being one of them.

Does anyone know what causes cramp in the feet? I have never in my entire swimming life had cramp, but the last two nights I've got it during training and it's been excruciatingly painful!!! Have just gritted my teeth and swum through it but it's horrible!!!0 -
we get a band at reception for which swim session we are going to. So I had the:

10-11 Public swim
11-12 Public swim
12-1 ladies only swim
