I am tracking daily but my neck is not getting better. Tried walking on the treadmill on Tuesday and pushed for a half hour in severe pain. Walked the dog yesterday and barely made our regular walk--stupid idea because she pulls a lot. I am so bummed that I can't fully excercise right now. I'm going to try a regular walk around the neighborhood today. I was so excited about this challenge and now worried about success but am being very conscious about food choices.2

Since we are empty nesters we decided to try Hello Fresh. I think that will be very helpful with healthy food choices too. Looking forward to our first delivery!2

Tracked: Yes, and did it pretty much right after my meals, right on target for my process goal of the month
Weight was down this morning lower than my weekly average last week - finally! It just goes to show what tracking and staying below the daily calorie limits can do. Gotta get my head on straight to stay on track through the weekend!
Had a funny thought yesterday about "losing weight." Again, we all know it's not really "lost" -- it doesn't go hang out someplace else. But it hit me finally that what I have really done is consumed 45 lbs of fat. And that's kind of funny, because consumption is what got me overweight in the first place.
Anyway, I got plenty more left to consume!4 -

Yep, no intention of finding that weight again, thank you!
Also -- and completely unrelated -- I'm trying out life with a "standing desk" that I've pieced together with end tables on top of my regular table. Thoughts on Day 4 of this experiment:- my lower back pain is decreasing a bit from excessive commuting and sitting over the previous week
- I enjoy pacing and walking away from my work, which is a new form of procrastination
- I enjoy kind of marching in place a bit to stretch my quads especially
- Sometimes, I work using a "Captain Morgan" pose with one foot up on a chair, also good for stretching (and saying, "Avast mateys!")
- I need to find a way to focus more on work!
Anyone else using a standing desk out there?2 -
No standing desk but I'm a machinist so I stand all day anyways. I'm assuming that's why my legs are always so sore. I thought dropping the weight would fix it but it hasn't. It had however pretty much taken care of my knees which use to hurt.
Thinking about taking up some yoga a few nights a week to help stretch. Anyone here do yoga? Results? Looking to get more flexible and hopefully lesson the muscle soreness with yoga. Specially my legs.3 -
Just want to share my latest trick for eating out: when doing fast food, check out the kid's menu!
Both Chik-fil-a and Panera have some great options that are a good calorie amount for an adult woman (which should make us a bit concerned about what that means for kids). They have several options close to or higher than 20 grams of protein! I feel like I get to have my cake and eat it too (minus the cake, of course).2 -

Just posting to say my dad had a serious health episode when we were together yesterday which scared me to death and we spent 7 and a half hours in the ER.
He was discharged but needs to go for tests (1 of which is tomorrow) and has to take it easy.
I have been staying with him to make sure he takes it easy and for my own peace of mind.
Will post my weigh in when I have more time.4 -

Exercise oh my goodness yes. Hosted my book club tonight and talked my hubby into a quick 20 min walk after everyone left. His long 6’2” legs kept us at a very brisk pace for 30 min. I am exhausted.

I am actually pretty proud of myself. Normally this type of event is a great excuse to go off plan but tonight I planned exactly what to eat and drink and entered it before the first bite. I feel great!

The scale has been all over the place this week. A high of 149.1 and today's low of 147.5. I know, normal fluctuations. I'm obviously eating at maintenance so I need to step up my game.1 -

I had a very stressful week and did eat more than I should have, I think this weight loss comes from last week's efforts that didn't reflect on the scale at last week's weigh in as opposed to anything I did this week. I am proud of myself though for not binging as that is something that I struggle with especially during times of stress.

Glad to see the scale move but a bit surprised as I had two social events on the weekend that led to lots of eating and drinking. Was really disciplined from Sunday to Friday to end at a weekly loss. The plan for next week is to be at a steady maintanence each week and start introducing excersize4 -
So since I've started, I have lost quite a few pounds. I take pictures once a month and I slowly see the difference. Especially lately. But I feel 100% better on the inside. I feel way better than I look. I have been big all my life so I have no idea what it will be like to be thin, built, or even a normal weight. It seems that it's going to take quite a while before I actually look as fit as I feel. Does that make any sense?
I don't mean this to sound like a Debbie Downer post. I'm quite happy with my progress in the short amount of time. It hasn't been too much of a struggle to maintain what I'm doing as eating a lot of veggies has filled me up quite a bit while keeping my calories pretty darn low for the most part. Also I have made an effort to eat slower and have smaller portions on my plate. When it's gone I take a break and if I'm still hungry I'll get more but most of the time just by eating slower and not having so much food in front of me I'm pretty full and satisfied with a smaller normal amount. This is pretty basic stuff that anyone can do and lose weight if your truthful about it. I have been riding my stationary bike that I talked about getting a couple months ago pretty religiously. It's a lot of fun and my cardio has greatly improved. I have been noticing when I sit in chairs or things like that how much smaller I am starting to feel. Heck, my zero turn lawn mower has been going a lot faster now that it's not hauling so much weight around. I noticed this yesterday when I mowed how much faster it was. I got a good laugh out of that.
Let's see here, so what else is there. Well I have a four wheeling trip coming up the 19th through the 22nd of this month so that'll be a good test for me eating wise since I'll be away from home. I have a jersey I want to wear that I finally can fit into. Well two of them I fit in and the third is tight in the belly which is odd because they're all same sizes which run small in jerseys apparently. Hopefully I can lose enough weight to wear the third on the trip. if not that's okay, it'll be cool when that tight Jersey becomes too big.
Well I guess that's it for now.

I started work for the first time in three years. It was hard coming home to a very tired and hungry toddler last night so I ate a lot at home. I'm working one day a week, it's harder than I thought transitioning to being a working mum .3
