October Week 2 Weigh-In

This was not a good loss I lost this because my nasty virus is apparently something like mono (but not mono) and my spleen is so enlarged that it's pressing against my stomach and making eating difficult.
It's nuts because this isn't even a very big loss for not being able to eat much (400-800 cal per day since Weds.). But all I've done is lay in bed so I haven't expended much energy.
I'll be okay--doctor has a recovery plan started. Improvements expected in next two days.
I'm grateful that I didn't wait one more second to start this journey. It changed my life and got me out of a rut. I'm grateful that the strength I built from March to October will still be there, ready to support me, when I recover.7 -

Exercise: Yes, decided it was time to up my game a bit and start my strength training program again. I'd forgotten how good I felt after a few months of that and how it gave me more energy. It will take a while to see those benefits again. I feel this is the only element missing in my attempts to get back on track. Ski season is less than 2 months away, I need to be ready.

@LesIckaBod --when we are documenting calories as a "no" that means we went over correct?
Saw my orthopedic surgeon. He has set me up for physical therapy. I plan on trying to walk today and stay close to home in case my pain flares up. I have at least been able to maintain during the challenge this past week but I have got to start seeing a loss.1 -

Not surprised that I am up 0.5 pounds
since it is exactly 1 week since my Dad had a serious health episode
as well as I had 3 Thanksgiving meals on the long weekend (Saturday dinner at my aunt's church, Sunday dinner at my mother-in-law's house, Monday lunch at my godmother's house).
I was just thankful that I didn't have to cook a Thanksgiving meal and that I had 3 meals that other people cooked for me after spending 7 and a half hours at the ER on Wednesday for my dad and 6 hours at the hospital on Friday for more tests for my dad.
As much as I hate being up, I am only up a total of 0.8 pounds from my lowest weight in this challenge which was on September 26th
and I am still down 25.2 pounds total over the course of the last couple of years from my highest weight.
I will continue to try my best under the current circumstances
but I know October will be more of a challenge for me with my dad's ongoing health concern that may be serious but won't know until the next test is done as well as trying to figure out what to do about the 75th birthday party I have been planning for him for 7 months which will be 4 days after the test which will determine whether or not I have to cancel the big party.

Rough news today...diagnosed with mono. Due to the spleen, the doctor wants me to stay away from the elliptical and weights for FOUR WEEKS.

@eevang Rough news, indeed. But, maybe this means you've unlocked a new level? We all know weight loss and exercise makes us better able to deal with illness and whatever stresses life throws at us. You've done incredibly at making yourself more healthy and fit, and so it's only fitting that you have a sickness challenge to have to work through. (I'm trying to find a way to look on the bright side here - did I succeed, or is this analogy hopelessly botched?)
Take care! I know that even if you lose some muscle tone while you wait out Boss Mono, you'll be back to kick A and take names!1
