Keeping this Monday check-in is really helpful because shows I'm down just a tad bit (b/c over the week I was down to 130.5 and now back up). I've been doing more low carb than keto - and Sat/Sunday- did not count cals and ate out. I would like to incorporate more fat. Bought some guac and cheese. Will buy some individual serving peanut butter or almond butter. spoonfuls of peanut butter in a big jar are just too easy).

Monday 12/24 - 131 (Morning of cheat time start, which lasted 9 days. More than planned as gifted a lot of chocolate and cider, so also had cheat meals each day. Didn't track after this day)
Tuesday 01/02 - 139 (Went back on here and yep, 8lb gain. Mostly water but 2/3lb is fat as went overboard on cals. I found I preferred keto alternatives in the end. Potatoes are so boring in any form. Rice, pasta and noodles also boring. Cauliflower mash and rice is so much better. Zoodles are great for noodles and spaghetti. Good keto recipe for other pasta. Bread I still enjoyed. Had toast with jam each day. Need to try keto bread recipe for toast. The overall feel of carbs and sugar though wasn't good. I felt crummy and towards the end my headaches were coming back, so was good to end before the migraines kicked in. I was also looking forward to healthy food again. )

Good luck. I am about the same height (5'6), and 133, and it's really hard to just lose 5-10 lbs at this weight. Why the 119 goal? Seems really low for this height but I do lift weights. (And I'm old!)1 -

I've taken a month off from the gym (I've kept busy walking 2-3 miles 4 times a week), so I am pleasantly surprised I haven't gained anything. But it's back to the gym I go...!

I have accomplished step one in my plan to recover from shoulder surgery. Step one was to wean myself from narcotics. I can proudly claim that I have done that after only 4 full days from surgery. Until I accomplished step 1, it would have been impossible for me to get back to keto.
So, I haven’t had any narcotics for 24 hours and my brain fog has almost disappeared. Now. I can feed my brain some keto fat and get back into ketosis. My lovely wife has decided to temporarily take over my keto cooking duties. I am excited to see how/if keto accelerates recovery. I’m thinking it will. Even in a drug induced stupor from narcotics I could see things like my skin drying out, my brain turning to mush, and my energy being depleted.
On to step 2 -- Returning to ketosis. I expect full recovery (100% use of my shoulder) to take 6 months. However, I do expect keto will enhance each step of the way. I hope to be fat adapted by our next check in. Of course, I will keep you all posted whether you like it or not because you are my go to sounding board. I keto and this group.

good time to start a new resolution and enjoying the fruits of your work (also, it will come back off and you will be rocking it again)0 -
I can't find where i posted it, so i will post it again: i won't have access to a scale consistently for the next 6 - 9 months or so (at least that is the current forecast/plan). but to help maintain accountability, and still participate, i figured i would share measurements instead (if that doesn't work, i will stop).

I probably won't post weekly since that change is much slower; but my goal is to have the confidence to post profile pics since Aug showing some change.3 -
I'm restarting KETO and IF after a 2 week holiday break, and I'm in for the January challenge.

Hi, I've been very successful with keto before. Then, I had a right knee meniscus repair. Well, guess what?? Now, my left knee has a partial tear. So, inactivity caused me to gain. I started keto December 26, at 158. As of January 8, I'm at 152 1/2. Yeah! So, keep it up fellow ketoers... It works! I'll post weekly. Thanks for reading!3

1/2/2019 - Hello all! I am giving Keto a try because I am at an all time high (258 lbs) and the doctor recommends Keto for my PCOS. I can't wait to read everyone's insights and results! Happy New Year!
1/8/2019 - 5.5 lbs down! All water weight of course but I will keep pushing and see what next week's weigh in brings!

Thanks!
If you are in time, 1 hour from when you posted then you can edit your post otherwise no. Once you've posted then you will see in the top right hand corner a little wheel (if you put your mouse /pointer there) if you press that it says Edit 1 hour. If you press the edit 1 hour part then you can go back to your post and edit it. I've just tried on this post to check!2 -

I forgot that this is supposed to happen on Sundays..oops...also I've gained 4lbs..i'm a emotional eater and these few months(jan, feb) are going to be hard for me. But I can't let it derail me. I know that I will mess up a few times, I just got to get back in the saddle..4
