If you were offered the job in a phone call try not to worry and call them 1st thing Tuesday letting them know you received a verbal offer but not the letter they indicated you'd receive. I had an important job related doc not make it to my house one time because someone keyed in a wrong number on the zip code. @cgcrutch0

Thanks. I will call on Tuesday for sure. The letters were sent by email, which is why I don't understand why it would take so long unless they didn't want to offer me the position anymore1 -
I hear ya. Emails have glitches too though. I've been a licensed active realtor for 20+ years with the same primary email address and every now and then there will be a glitch and a doc won't come/go through. That can be a problem. And it isn't one that generates "undeliverable" but rather is just hanging out there in cyber space.
I hope it all works out for you.2 -
Question - let me know if anyone has ever done something low carb or keto for just a short time in order for muscles to "pop" or look more lean for a specific event. I want to try that, but only do it for the (really minimum) time necessary.

I think employers do not have an issue with a candidate calling (as long as you don't do it too often, just once or twice). Best of luck!0 -
Update on that new job I was worried about... I start on Monday Update on weight loss... Gained from a bowl of cream of wheat, then lost it. Now I'm where I was before the cream of wheat and black bean soup. Still have 5 lbs to lose by the end of the month!6

Hey! Just found the thread and joined as I’ve started a low carb/no sugar Keto type diet for weight loss to help some health issues. Any advice on how to get through the temptations while eating out would be much appreciated as this is my biggest issue!!!0

Hello, 🙋♀️ I'm new to Keto diet and MFP. This is my 3rd week.I'm trying to lose weight too.I'm realistic about my progress🤷♀️.It took years to put on extra fat🤦♀️ so it takes time to lose it, right ?👍1

Hello everyone. I started my Keto lifestyle on 1/1. It took me about 4 days to get my keto strips to 1. I am currently sitting at a 3ish level. Best part was lost 11.6 lbs first week. Hopefully this week goes as well.
I used to snack all the time. I am finding that after each meal that I am not hungry for a longer time. I am eating more veggies than before but I am struggling to hit my macros for fat. Adding butter, coconut oil, avocados to everything still not hitting.
Me too, I stop snacking all the time now. If I'm hungry between meals I just drink water🥤 or tea☕.I will try vegetables 🥒🥦too. Good luck.🍀0 -
@Trixi510 depends on where you are going. if you are going to a place that has hamburgers, order without the bun (and other condiments that are carb-heavy, depending on your macro goal for the day); if it has steak, eat steak ; if it is burritos, ask for it in a bowl/no tortilla shell. avoid fried foods (:'(). look at nutrition calculators before-hand, if possible.
and, most importantly, know that you will not always be able to get by without an accurate carb count or go over your macro. but keep at it. it does become easier (depending on what you are used to/like.)1 -

I don’t recommend them as a staple long term, but fat bombs helped me get away from y sweet tooth and stay satiated until my body got the hang of what was happening.3 -
Love this daily check in! I am someone who weights daily because it helps keep me on track and for me to understand what foods affect fluctuations (which I never care if the weight goes up because I usually know the cause by now). It has been great motivation for me and for helping see how food works with by body2

I weigh daily too, like you I find it helpful.
I also measure every 2 weeks and try on "almost" clothes. Even when the scale goes up or doesn't move the measurements go down and something fits.

Thanks, I’ve been trying to do this as much as possible. Just meat and veg on the side. I am keen to try to bake a little more and I would love to find an alternative to bread ie Keto Muffins etc. The recipe I tried was microwaveable and made of egg and coconut flour and honestly it looked and felt so awful I couldn’t even attend to eat it!!! I want something I can use with peanut butter or cheese as a topping ideally

I’ve been weighing daily and I am now down 6 kgs since the beginning of the year .. it’s better for me to keep monitoring as it justifies the hard work!! I want to get my BMI down to 30 ideally0 -

Do you have any fat bomb recipes that you think are delicious and would recommend?0 -
Hello everyone. I am 50 years old, and 60 lbs overweight. I lost 38 lbs 4 years ago, eating low fat and counting calories, and was hungry a lot of the time. I unfortunately gained it back and then some. I really have been so unhappy with myself, and know I need to make a change. Last Monday I started Keto, but haven't been super strict with carbs. I try to say under 50. I have lost 6 lbs so far and haven't been hungry or craved sugar. I am very happy so far, and just need to keep telling myself, A cookie doesn't taste as good, as being so heavy feels, and I don't need it. I am so surprised how many carbs are in so many healthy things though, like salad and stuff, Why Carbs. I don't know how people can keep it under 20. I feel I couldn't eat much healthier. Have a great day everyone.3

It is extremely hard to go into ketosis unless you are strict with following your macro amounts. Being super strict with carbs is very important. Good luck!1 -
A good friend of mine is a nurse and she is a very healthy weight and keeps her carbs under 50 no processed foods, so that is what I am trying to do and it's been working for me so far. I need to do something I can maintain, and 20 carbs for me is a no go. What I am doing is a huge change for me. I have lost 7 lbs in 10 days so far and even if it's water weight, i am grateful for it. As long as I feel good I am keeping up with what I am doing.

hey guys! not new to keto or low carb, but new to this thread. I've toyed around with it for the past 4 years. Always giving good advice, but never practicing what I preached lol. I decided enough was enough. So I started 12/31 and have stayed with it so far. Down 17 lbs as of Monday and 22". I had a binge day Monday - it was gross. The whole time I'm like wth are you doing?? I do so well while I'm at work; it's not until I get home that I want all the bad stuff! -- work in progress, that's for sure! I find it easy to stick below 20 carbs, it's the easiest WOE I've ever done!7

Water weight is still weight. For me, that also equals inflammation so I’m always happy to see it go!3 -

I didn’t start finding it “easy” until I stopped trying so hard to make keto version of the meals and treats that got me here in the first place.
Now that I don’t bother with recipes and just eat food as it comes, life is so much easier... it took me a long time to get here, though.5 -
I started eating Keto August 2018 to improve my energy levels and lose the weight I gained after a thyroidectomy. I’ve lost 45lbs so far and another 45lbs left to lose, it’s been really good. I don’t think it would of been possible without the Keto communities online that share ideas and recipes. It’s crazy to think about how I can eat Keto and not worry about weight gain as long as I follow the low carb rules. I’ve practiced switching high protein over high fat but that dried out my skin. I don’t worry so much about carbs being over 20g daily as long as my net carbs are under 30g and my daily calorie intake fits my deficit goals, I feel energetic and still lose weight at the end of the week.5

This site is overwhelming but very helpful I am looking forward to the new friends and motivation2

I’m just coming back from a week long slip up. Man do I need serious accountability! I don’t know why I can’t be trusted to just do the right thing for my body because I know it’s the right thing to do...4

I'm in the same boat2

I haven't read all 38 pages so I'm just jumping in here. I've been graduating into Keto over the past few weeks...the first week or so was getting used to no grains, dairy or sugar, then I tried doing full-on Keto 20g carbs, but find it too restrictive so I changed my macros to 48g carbs, but am now trying to stay between 25-30. I am also staying within my calorie goal for the most part. I'm trying to do what is sustainable for me. I watched a couple of Dr. Berg's videos & found it very helpful to get the basics. I find I am not hungry or craving ANYTHING and he said that would indicate ketosis. He also suggested IF and so far that is going good...I don't eat until Noon & then again between 6-7 pm...he suggested eating a 2nd meal at 4 pm but I'm not even hungry at that point so I wait till I am.
Anyway, I am just keeping it simple & basic, not doing many recipes yet. I'm just trying to get regulated on this before I get too creative LOL. My weight loss hasn't been significant but I'm going to wait for another month to see how my body adapts...it's likely in shock!! But what I like the absolute most so far is no hunger & no cravings. Eating carbs I was hungry & craving constantly. I actually like only eating 2 times a day...it's kind of freeing.

New to keto... Not to mfp... Been following keto diet for about 3 weeks on recommendation from my gp.
I'm a 5'2 female, and in 2011 was 117kg. Started walking, then running, and ran a bunch of half and full marathons. By 2013 was down to 78kg for a heartbeat. Got multiple injuries, lifted weights instead. Got injured again needing surgery. Couldn't exercise. Weight crept back to 112kgs. Found out I have severe osteoarthritis in both hips. 8 months ago started duromine and got down to 105kgs- increased exercise simultaneously. I don't overeat and really never have. I'm just a fatty🤔😁. So here I am giving keto a whirl to see if this is the woe that suits me. Glad to have a group of people I can talk to!!!4
