Previous weight:203.2
Current weight: 202.4
Better but still need to get the snacking a little more under control.6 -
Check in for Sunday
Food - I didn't log everything but ate at home and stayed not track
Water 1.5l
Exercise - was charging my Garmin, so no idea. No runs yesterday
I am in the home stretch with my work deadline. I will be done this evening, so hurray! I will have a week of administrative stuff to do after this, but that is not nearly as intensive. I can get back to more focus on myself now. The Raptors victory parade is underway. The schools in our neighbourhood had mini-parades with the students parading around in Raptors gear and cheering. It was loud, but super cute! Here are some photos from my husband, who is at work downtown. This is just one major street, and they are all jammed packed like this one.

Check in for: Thursday to Sunday
Logged food: Yes, under each day (Day 14 of 28 day goal)
Water: A little low
Steps and Exercise: Ranged between 11,000 and 18,000 steps per day, walks outside
Hi everyone! I haven’t been checking in here as much as I would like, but my eating is going really well. I’m committed to making this a great month - my "no excuses" mentality for this month seems to be keeping me on track. Yesterday was harder than usual since we had pizza and cake for Father’s Day. But I limited myself to 2 slices of pizza and 1 serving of cake during the day. A long family walk outside in the evening helped with the steps and extra calories.
This week I need to work on getting my water back up to 64oz a day and find time for more exercise. My schedule has been all over the place since school got out and exercise has mainly been walks with the kids. I would like to add in some yoga, strength, or more strenuous exercise again.
Hope everyone has a great, successful week!8 -
Hey guys, I'm at a serious loss of what to do here. My YMCA closed and the only other option for a gym membership in my town (and also the town I work in has one) is Anytime Fitness. I just hate how ridiculous their contracts are! Sometimes I just get a membership for the summer then cancel in the fall/winter/spring because it's not cost effective!
Do I bite the bullet and get the membership anyway? I am a "gym person" more than a "workout at home person" but they have like a minimum 12 month contract... 18 months if you want to get any savings at all4 -
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Been feeling good. I was happy with my weigh-loss on Saturday. I was really good with my food & exercise and Saturday and yesterday I got a workout done, ate well all day, did laundry and cleaned the house. We went to my in-laws for dinner last night for Father's Day. My MIL made arroz con pollo and pasta salad. I had some of both. The kids went to Dairy Queen for ice cream after dinner, they picked it up for everyone, so I got a small cup of vanilla soft serve with the chocolate dip on top. It was really good. The scale was up a little this morning, but I am fine with it. I am back on track today. Going to do my workout when I get home.
A little over 5 weeks until Vegas. My goal is to be around 150 by then. I will happy if I can get to 153 or under. If I really set my mind to it, I can do it!
@Cafelelia that parade looks crazy! Lots of fun and so exciting! I have a meeting at my son's school tomorrow morning. I am hoping they let him stay or I may have to do online school with him.
@Mrsbell8well my prayers are with your sister! I hope everything is ok! Hopefully your brother is able to help. That is a scary situation.
@cyndiesstuff enjoy your honeymoon!
@DananaNanas I belong to Planet Fitness. It is only $10/month. The don't offer classes, but they have cardio & weight machines.
@sleepymom5 enjoy the few days to yourself! I hope your hip feels better!
Have a great day & week!3 -
Happy Monday everyone. I’ve really been fighting my cravings for my “nuts” again. I guess that’s growth since I used to crave junk food, but I have not been able to eat a single portion of my nuts. I literally go nuts!! It’s an all or nothing thing!!5
-
@DananaNanas I’m not a home gym person either, and have a gym membership at a local club that is not anytime fitness, and did have reservations about the annual contracts.
We (my son and I) started out with a 1 week pass, and did a different class every single day (no Zumba was the deal), then added another week paid to see if we would keep going. By week 3, the annual membership seemed less of a problem. I want to workout long-term and need a place I could stick to forever. So we opted for a long term membership. (Teens are cheaper) Since starting in March, I have a usual locker I use (I used to forget all the time what locker I had), know the class schedule, which instructors I like, what weights/props to pull out at the begging of class, know what elliptical has the best view over the park without getting the sun in my eyes, found people I already know, some of the instructors know us by name and I love how they say how nice it is to see us coming back and look forward to whatever new playlist they have built for that week. I’m over the “don’t look at me” phase, I honestly felt so self conscious at first, but accept that now both my son and I are sometimes “goofs”, we’ve clocked ourselves with the weights, fell off bosu balls, my son got a bloody nose (long story) and generally have no rhythm.
Your suggestion for anytime fitness seems to be actually pretty cool, with 24/7 access, and to more than just one club.3 -
Check in for: Friday to Monday
Logged food: Partly as is my routine but not accurate enough for my OCD
Water: OK but I usually do better
Steps and Exercise: Yoga, dog walks, dancing while watering the lawn... does that count ? LOL; 41,295 steps plus 9760 so far today
Quick dog walk, Yoga Friday morning then ladies luncheon... the lunch plates seemed rather small to me and all but one finished their plate so if I don't eat more than my cute little old ladies its a win, yes? Saturday was Farmer's Market... still too early here for much in the way of produce. After getting a little off track towards the end of last week due to stress I reined in my bad behavior this weekend but I was up almost 3 lbs this morning.
An Update on my yoga "journey"... Took classes from 3 yoga instructors and settled on one... the one with the goats LOL. But seriously she's the most challenging. She's also a massage therapist so when we're twisted like a pretzel she also explains which organs, etc. are benefiting. My intention is yoga Monday and Friday mornings. Its a 90 minute class but it goes by fast. I think my sore muscles are partly to blame for today's gain. She likes to do a lot of core work... ouchie, ouchie.
I just finished reading "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat" by Samin Nosrat. a great book!! I can follow a recipe but I'd like to cook more intuitively based on skill and the ingredients on hand. Man, if I had this book when I was a newlywed we would have saved so much on grocery money! Tonight I made butternut squash and black bean enchiladas, not her recipe but using techniques from her book... might tasty and I'm not a vegetarian!
@Mrsbell8well I weigh myself everyday now... didn't used to... but I track it, see the trends
and don't let a single bad weigh in ruin my day. Its just a tool. Wellness and health are so much more than a number on a scale. I hope you find some peace with that pesky scale.
Ah mother nature is being rather aggressive with lightening this evening... got to get off the computer. We need rain , not lightening and definitely not any wildfires. I hope to check in more this week. Take care all!

I am so tired! I will check in tomorrow!
@jedaschultz nice loss!
@Cafelelia I am glad that the deadline is behind you! It must be exciting with the parades going on. I did hear that there was some trouble there as well. I hope no one was hurt. I didn't get the details.
@gottagetthisdown You have been doing great! Awesome loss!!
@hope002 We have missed you! Hope all is well . Love your plan for today.
@Shirin_K I know it is harder when the kids aren't in school. Try to carve out some time for you. I know that is easier said then done with little ones.
@DananaNanas That stinks about the Y. Do you have a planet fitness nearby? They are pretty nice, cheap and no commitment. Otherwise join the gym, unless you want to look up some videos and see if you would workout at home.
@kirsten11872 When you are on a roll, you are on a roll! You have a good week under your belt, now for another!
@lennoncpa I lol'd when you said you go "nuts" lol! Can you buy the prepackaged ones? Or put a portion into zip lock bags?
@julie8468 You are good with getting to the gym and getting your workouts in. I just love how your son goes too! You are such a good example-even with a tumble off the Bosi ball Lol!
@nstephenson01 So the goats are always at that class? I thought it was a special day! Enjoy, that sounds like fun as well as a workout! Hope that the storm isn't too bad, we are supposed to be getting one tonight too. You are doing great, don't let that gain throw you off.
@Mrsbell8well I can't believe I didn't say anything before but I am glad that your brother is taking care of the gun situation at your sisters. Hugs!

Logged yes and over
Water 10 cups
Exercise 45 minutes walk, plank
Steps 7761
3 -
Daily check in Monday
Food logged and under
Exercise yoga 30
Steps 5202
Slept last night 8 hours 13 minutes
Physically I was feeling run down just a bit last night. I will take a zinc tablet this morning. I have not been sick in over 9 months maybe longer. Aside from a few scattered headaches. And zero meds since October. Might be from jumping into a cold swimming pool lol.
Thanks for the well wishes on my sister.
Tomorrow’s my weigh in. I will ck the scale this morning to see where I’m at and what tweaking I may need to do. My problem is that I can get very scale obsessive. It’s been good to take a 2 week break.
@DananaNanas join the gym.
@julie8468 I really enjoyed your post on your gym experiences. I hate restless nights. Hope today is better for you.
Tonight we’re going “thrifting” to our favorite thrift store. I hate my clothes feeling baggie. But I decided I would like some looser relaxed jeans and a looser white T-shirt that doesn’t look sloppy. Some nice black slacks too. Most of my wardrobe these days is very fitted. I think I was showing off my new skinny body lol.

Daily check in Monday
Food logged and on track
Exercise walk 20 min and bike ride 30 min
Steps 9004
Not too bad of a day yesterday. Shooting for the same today. I am starting to clean down here today so may not get as many steps as yesterday. It is already hot and humid out, we are supposed to have storms later. I think I am going to get out ASAP on the bike. My hip is actually feeling better. It is still there but not as painful. I have been good with my PT exercises, ice and taking ibuprofen every 8 hours. I have actually taken that from 800mg to 600mg. Today I am going to start the 400mg and see how I do. I am still waiting for insurance to approve the MRI and then I can schedule it. Well, got to go if I want to get out on that bike! Hope everyone has a great day!
@Julie8468 Hopefully you have a better day today. Sometimes if I have a lot of caffeine I have difficulty sleeping. Happy graduation to your son! Enjoy the day!
@hope002 Great day yesterday! Hope you have another good day today!
@Mrsbell8well Enjoy your thrift shopping night! Sounds fun! Hope you are feeling better after the zinc.3 -
Another MFP friend posted this and I had to share with all of you4 -
Monday Check in
Food - was going good but blew it in the afternoon
Water - great
Exercise - almost 11,000 steps and yoga
Yesterday was one of those days where I forgot what I'm supposed to do when I have a craving. I just acted and didn't even think of counting down from 90. Practice makes perfect right? But I did get back on track right away and have a good dinner and made sure I got my steps and some yoga in.
Today's plan:
Food - all planned out for the day
Water - already working on my first big ole' glass
Exercise - aiming for 12,000 steps today!
NO MINDLESS SNACKING .... PERIOD!3 -
Daily Check in: Monday
Food: Logged breakfast and lunch but not dinner
Water: Good
Exercise & Steps: 30 minute dog walk, 90 minutes yoga; 10,490 steps
Crazy storm last night with plenty of lightening and thunder. Fun to watch and luckily haven't heard of any new wildfires. Our dog Willow has lost much of her hearing so thankfully thunder doesn't terrify her like it used to. Full day of yard work planned but I want to take the the dogs for a quick walk first to help with my step count. I'm aiming for 10,000 steps 6 days/week. Breakfast and lunch are pre-logged. Dinner is a new recipe... broccoli slaw and chicken stir-fry so not sure how I will log it.
I don't want to log my food for the rest of my life so I'm thinking of ways to transition from logging without putting the weight back on of course LOL. Pre-logging food for the day at least gives an idea of how many calories I have left for dinner. I'm also thinking about two dinners/week being vegetarian. No way I can do that when Hubby is home so I'm curious to give it a try while he is away. Last night's butternut squash and black bean enchiladas were crazy good! I didn't miss the meat one bit.
@sleepymom5 LOL... no, the goats were a one time event. Glad to hear your hip is feeling somewhat better. Hope it continues to improve.
Gotta get going before it gets too hot. Have a great day everyone!!3 -

sorry I am a day late here it is really busy at work.
weekly weigh in

Week 3
Weigh in Day:Monday
Previous Weight: 137
Current Weight: 137
I am holding steady which is ok because I am not planning or journalling my food at the moment. I am also not eating to a +2. I am not over eating but I am going to +4 if I am honest which means i am not creating an energy deficit. The other thing is the slimer you are the smaller your margins of error. I have a healthy BMI while I am by no means skinny I am wondering if I really willing to eat less than I am now in order to maintain a slimer body. I like the idea of being 127 but do I like the idea enough to do the work. My current behaviour seems to suggest not. I am liking my sugar ban though. I think I need to make it a permenant fixture at work as it seems to be stopping me from gaining weight.4 -
@sleepymom5 I have such an addictive personality that the zip lock bag thing would never work. I’ve even tried to put the remaining nuts in my car - but I live alone and it’s nothing to slip on my shoes and head out to my car to dig into the rest of my nuts in the middle of the night!! I spend a lot of money on nuts because I buy the smaller bags. Isn’t that a crazy addiction?4

Week3
PW: 167.9
CW: 167.94 -
It has been a week since we moved. It still feels very unsettled. Mostly because I have been spending so many hours at the prior home getting it ready for sale. I have been doing lots of painting and other home repair projects - so this current house has hardly been touched. I can now take a shower with all the needed items in the bathroom and have clothing at least available for all people. I also did get much of the kitchen unpacked so we can cook / eat in relative order. So I suppose not bad for a week!
Since I moved I have not found a good place to keep the scale. The new bathroom is much smaller than the prior and there is no good place to put it. It gets moved around a lot. I notice my weight was up 3 pounds the first day we moved. And it has been all over the place since we have been in this new house. I have been weighing daily for months and I know there can be a lot of variation but this has been out of the ordinary and the scale is moved so often - so I found a place to keep it (for now). I will see if this helps.
My eating has been largely following same good routines as the last several months. I am still not logging much but do keep track in my head and follow the normal routines. I am not sure how the weight loss will be this week since it has been stable so far, but overall I feel like the current plan is working. One day I decided to log and I was actually a few hundred under at the end of that day. So I have been trying to make sure I eat enough each day.
I made it to yoga for the first time in 2-3 weeks last night. I was preparing myself on the drive there for it to be really difficult after the long time off. I even had to go to the advanced class due to my schedule and really wished I could have started back in the beginners class. But I was stronger than I had been at the last yoga class to be honest. I have been moving and packing and painting and working hard so many hours each day - I guess that has built up muscle. My flexibility seemed to have stayed about the same too - no major losses. I was quite happy with these maintains or gains.
I will be on vacation for most the last week of June and first week of July. Pushing hard to get the house ready to be sold before the vacations - need to get it on the market. So likely not much further unpacking or settling in at the new place till July. All in all good problems to have. Have a great day team!6 -
Good day today! I will check in tomorrow! Have a good night everyone!
@carlsoda I have been doing the same thing! I don't even know what to suggest. Hopefully the more we do it, it will start becoming more ingrained in our heads. Ugh! Liked you plan for the day, I hope it went well!
@nstephenson01 I think that you will know when you don't have to log anymore. Now you are figuring out the calories for the day and how you can fit it in. Eventually you will get the hang of it I am sure. I am pretty sure I will have to do it the rest of my life. For some reason I think I can eat what I want when I am not logging. So funny to hear the girl who was getting clobbered with snow all winter had to go before it got to hot Lol! Hope you had a good day!
@amsandos I am still trying to figure out eating to a plus 2. They said it takes a lot of practice. So what are you thinking? Do you not want to lose and maintain? I think being at a healthy BMI is good. You eat healthy and exercise a lot. You are really doing well! If you are happy, then work on maintaining.
@lennoncpa I could see me doing the same thing! Lol! That is why I just stay away from them. If I remember correctly, you started eating to avoid sweets...
@phoebe112476 Moving is so much work. It will be all worth it in the end. Hang in there! It must have been such a good feeling to go to yoga and actually improved! I am not surprised, we don't always think when we are doing physical work that we are actually exercising. Good luck with all that you are doing. Hope the old house can get on the market soon so you can enjoy your new home.
