    Jan 17 Johannes van den Bosch appointed governor general of Dutch East Indies.
    Feb 6 1st appearance of cholera in Edinburgh, Scotland.
    Feb 6 US ship destroys Sumatran village in retaliation for piracy.
    Feb 12 Ecuador annexes Galapagos Islands.
    Feb 13 First appearance of cholera in London.
    In mid-March, the founder of the Mormon Church was beaten, tarred, and feathered in Ohio.
    Interesting to notice the outbreak timing of cholera, eh?!
    Happy Friday!
    Remember, we can be the ones to step back, breathe calmly, and sit this dance out. Do other activities instead!
    I saw an inexpensive DIY treadmill. Stand at the sink counter, pour a goodly amount of dish soap or even a bit of laundry detergent onto the floor and in bare feet, start walking as though on a treadmill. The soap makes your feet nice and slippery and you can increase speed as you warm up. The floor is going to be really clean soon!

    @bunnybuns1111 - you are one of the people with the toughest work right now. I wish there was something more to say than that you have all our support and admiration. And I certainly hope that you will be issued with the best protective equipment, and that anyone who has masks, etc. at home will do the right thing and bring them to the hospital or clinic where they are most needed. Many distance hugs coming your way :heart:

    @evelynladams527 - interesting year there - cholera. Ugh. But having really, really clean feet (and floors) will help with that :flushed:

    My year this morning is a really boring one - 1152. It was a Leap Year, but since it was so dull otherwise, I looked for other things. There is a series of comic books that fit the bill. This little feller looks ready to take on anything. AND there are snowshoes!!!

    Staying at home and cooking instead of going to a restaurant must be working, not that I did that every day. Plus I've been doing Leslie Sansone workout videos too. Hopefully, we will all come out of this global disaster thinner, stronger, and wiser.

    Picture it. It's the year 3490. If the planet can survive another 1200+ years, I suspect it will look a lot like The Jetsons, for those of us old enough to remember that cartoon. I can't even imagine anything else lol.😄

    Great loss! Your cooking is doing you a lot of good :smiley: I think you are right that we will come out of this thinner, stronger, and wiser. But let's just hope the Jetsons have figured out electric flying cars, right?

    @YinxFed I love your methods to recentre and get away from the toxic negativity. It is so easy to get engulfed in the news and updates, both local and distant, and all the political hoo hah. Well done! And thank you for explaining it in detail - I am sure this can help others who are finding themselves in similar states of anxiety. Keep up your new routine and let us know how it is going!

    Good morning! I’m up early with a throbbing toothache. I’m hoping to go back to sleep soon and wake up feeling better so I can get a work out in. Everyone please stay safe!

    I hope you are now sound asleep and will be feeling better soon!

    Well, I had a kind of day off from the calorie deficit today - my blood pressure was really low this morning, and I needed a day of quiet and more calories. I did a good Pilates session, but otherwise just stayed in and did housework, played the piano for a while, and took it easy. Off to sleep!

    I’ve been trying to cut back on using my phone to stay away from the news. Gladly when I looked at the MFP this morning you people are amazing and sweet and so funny!
    @YinxFed - I totally get your post I have to set time limits on social media to keep Glad you refocused.
    @Terytha - I love mad max and this thought! One of my girl friends said her family is watching all the virus and contagion movies again for fun - while that didn’t sound like fun to me - maybe watching all the crazy mad max and old 80’s movies might be a blast!
    @bunnybuns1111 - thanks for everything
    @conleywoods - Love your letter to carbs! 🤣

    @jugar here is my weigh in. Finally some scale movement after three weeks of calorie deficits each day and intermittent fasting!

    Happy weekend everyone!

    Today I will be working out, walking my dog, quilting and making a cake! And I suppose I'll squeeze in some housework too.

    Enjoy your day!

    Yinka, I LOVE this! I had seen it in several places. Thanks for posting here. I have read it over and over. I think I will print it out and hang it somewhere in my home to read every day. It is so insightful and comforting. 💕💕

    @jugar I am so glad you are so in tune with your body and you listened to her. Sounds like you made a good decision and had a lovely day. Hope you are feeling better soon. 🤗

    @Steph1498 I hear you about limiting exposure. It can get overwhelming. I have a fairly high tolerance for news and even I need to take a break. I have been good about getting some exercise in. My walks feel particularly healing during all of this. Weeding the “jungle” side of my yard has also been therapy. My garden bed hasn’t been used in many years and has been overtaken by a wide variety of vegetation. Little by little I am clearing it. It will take a while. But patience is the key, in my yard, with each other, in the world, and with this pandemic. I am so very grateful for you all. 💕💕

    Saturday weigh in: 193.6

    Which is still higher than I weighed myself at 2 weeks ago. I know it's mostly water due to stress and my NEAT taking a hit but still. :/

    Wow, people. In spite of (or maybe because of) all the trials and difficulties this week, we have achieved one of our best weeks in weight loss. 85.7% of all the reported weigh-ins this week are GREEN. There are only 3 people missing - and I hope to hear from them:

    @reflectionofme
    @Juliemargaretkim
    @ddmiddleton2

    Those little :/ from @Terytha and @lovethyneighbor ? Twaddle! Poppycock! Hogwash! You lost some weight since your last weigh-in. You are doing great - really. Really really.

    Top of the heap for the week? So far, @steph1498 @deniners2 and @evangsimmons170 are our leaders. Good breakthroughs all!

    However, if you are one of the people who did not veer towards the green this week, be kind to yourself and know that you will be back there as soon as possible. Don't let yourself slide because of it - you know what to do and we're here to help you do it!

    You are welcome to jump right back in!! It might be a bit unfair to put all 10 pounds in one week, though, so maybe you could give a guess at where you were a week ago? Or I could just evenly distribute the losses over the 3 weeks or something. Not that I don't want our team to look like the most awesome bunch of losers ever :p

    It is great to see you back! I hope that you're doing OK with all the gang and that your lives are not too uncomfortable at the moment, especially now that you got those drains out and are feeling better. Hugs all around!

    Im okay with not getting a 10 pound loss since its mostly from the surgery. If you want to just enter in my current weight but don't allocate it as a loss. I weighed the same last week, I still have week 4 to show a new loss.

    We're good here, doing our part to stay home. Recovering is tuff since I have been cooped indoors for almost 4 weeks. Going to the Doctor on Thursday hoping for an all clear on my infection and then praying that we all can get back to a normal way of life again. I have 2 more weeks before I can do any type of exercises. I just want to move again.

    Hope you are all well <3

    The themes are up for week 4 of the March challenge. The link is below and we start tomorrow!
    Most of us are at home a lot more these days. Understandably, we are all feeling increased levels of stress and anxiety. A lot of our usual coping mechanisms have been shut down, like gyms, places of worship, cafes and favorite shops. This week is about self care, our mental health and staying motivated thorough this difficult time.

    Motivation Monday
    Now more than ever, practicing kindness and gratitude can help us and others through this time. Post a photo or describe what you are thankful for or an act of kindness in your life (whether you gave or received that kindness).

    Transformation Tuesday
    A lot of the places that we go to for self care are closed. It could be your place of worship, support group, salon, spa, gym, local pool, or neighbourhood cafe. All kinds of diy ideas and videos have popped up on how to do things for ourselves at home. Show or tell us about one way that you have transformed your self care while staying at home.

    Workout Wednesday
    Whether we feel like it or not, we need to keep moving during this difficult time. Post a selfie from or tell us about one aspect your home workout routine.

    Thirsty Thursday
    Seems like I am making way more soup lately. Post your recipe or a photo of for your favorite soup. I know that soup is a food, but it is liquid too!

    Food for Thought Friday
    Post a your favorite motivational quote. It can be a photo or text, but please share anything that is helping you right now.

    Hope everyone had a good start to their weekend. I finally slept well last night. Hooray! The kids have been begging for pancakes for awhile now so we made a big pile of pancakes and sausage and had a nice family breakfast. We laid around a lot today but did one 40 minute hike near our house with the the whole family and my mother in law. Made one of my husband's favorite soups. It's called Doukhobor Borscht and he used to get it at little restaurants in Canada. I think it's a regional dish from British Columbia from what I can tell. Anyways, its really good and doesn't really have beets in it like you would think. We had it for lunch and dinner plus leftovers! Going to put the kids to bed soon. Then have some coffee and cookies and watch a movie with my man.
