Here it is Wednesday! It is now June 18th eve - so let's figure out how we're going to party tomorrow! What have you got to celebrate? Highest weight you ever hit and this week's - if that's a good difference, it's happy dance time. An exercise thing you now do that you would never have thought possible before? An NSV? A compliment from your grouchy old auntie? A birthday or anniversary for real? TOMORROW is the day to post all those cheery things, and have a little fun celebrating together. Why not?
@evelynladams527 - hope you're feeling better and look at that number you posted. OVER 10,000 steps! WTG
@evangsimmons170 - the grant I applied for is from the Canada Council for the Arts - they are trying to help musicians who have had all their concerts cancelled and need to find other ways to present their work. There are some amazing musicians in my area who are now home more since they are not playing all over the place, and we have the time to do something together. They need the income, I need people to play with, and the funding will also cover video for presentation online. We'll do some lovely baroque music on period instruments, with scenery from our gorgeous region. Simple, but it will feel good. And then we will be able to plan some performances where there are small local halls with the possibility of good distancing for the public and us. I think it will be a dynamite ensemble, so fingers crossed for getting this grant.
@micki48 - hope it stops raining! It sure does speed up the steps to and from the car, though, doesn't it?
@gidgitgoescrazy - thanks for describing your experiment. I used to exercise after just my morning latte (no sugar, just coffee and milk) and then have breakfast later, but once I got closer to my goal weight there was no way I could do it any more. I know there are tons of pre- and post- workout products, but just finding the right amount and timing of protein and carbs is fun to experiment with until you keep inside your calories but have enough gas for working out. Good luck with it - keep us posted on if you get used to it or need to change things up again. Oh. And do more squats. The soreness will pass!

PS my thighs still hurt from the squats with the resistance band on monday... might have to scratch that strength workout this evening... guess I should start doing squats a little more often.. yeesh...
It works pretty well for me, too, changing timing of food. One way I've added more squats to my day is by using the "tiny" habit method. "After I pee, I will (after washing hands) do 4 wall push-ups and 4 squats by way of "accepting" all of the winning applause I'll acknowledge for having done the push-ups".
Since I absolutely abhor squats, this has been one way to add them to my multiple times/day bathroom routine and also put a smile on my face.
Let me know how it goes if you decide to try it.

sheeze - Well getting back on track. DH had knee replacement and I seem to gain weight with him. He gained over 12lbs but day 5 post surgery he has lost 7.2 lbs. It is slowly creeping off for me. I seem to just be in maintence mode this entire year so far. But as a friend always told me "Up until now"4 -
Today, I did not stick to my meal plan. My calories were ok, but my carbs were HIGH. The scale had been going down so I am a little bummed that I messed up my progress. I did workout. Tomorrow, I have a lot going on, including google meet for work and a swim lesson. I was planning on a rest day but I will try to walk first thing in the morning. I want to do better with planning my week.6

Steps today: 10,000
Throat is better; energy a bit sluggish but otherwise, things are going well...even went to the pond for a brief “dip”. Maybe I’ll make it all the way in tomorrow!
G’night. Party tomorrow with all y’all! 😘

@evelynladams527 I’ve hung on to one tiny habit too. Like you, after using the bathroom I jog in place for, at least, 100 steps. It’s funny how it’s a habit now. I do it even if I’ve forgotten to put on my Fitbit.
Hit my step goal today. Also did a 16 minute Pilates workout for hips and legs. I was over a little bit with my calories (yes cheesecake) but I logged everything.
Tomorrow another day with my granddaughter. Her mommy needs a break. 🤣 She’s really a good girl. Cracks me up and now tells me stories.
Celebration tomorrow. Man, that came fast. I will be thinking of how I will celebrate.3 -
Oh, I meant to mention, I am feeling very frustrated with how wonky MFP has been lately. It takes forever to load. Won’t open. Crashes constantly. I thought it was because I hadn’t updated. But then, I did and it’s still just as bad. I give up a lot because it takes so long to load.4

Hi! Stopping in for a quick hello. It's my last week of school hooray. Lots of paperwork...boo. My husband talked with his principal about maybe not working next year and she will be flexible for us. He may become the home instruction contact for other parents not comfortable sending kids to school. That was nice to hear that we can postpone this decision and have options! Still trying to not eat all the chips! My daughter has been wanting to do ballet at home and we have tried a lot of things that haven't worked out. We finally found a website called ballet beautiful and it's fitness ballet. The first month is on sale so we can test it out. But seriously...holy hell I am so sore. We like it for sure but there was a moment I thought my glutes were going to explode and I would match @jugar.9

@eggfreak your numbers are really impressive - seriously, I would love to have any ONE of them!
@micki48 MFP seems to be behaving really badly at the moment - I do wish the tech boss would let us know if they're tinkering about behind the scenes!
Here are my numbers for yesterday:
Steps - 5632
I had a rest day from my Heather Robertson 12 week program, but I just did Week 1/Day 3 and it was definitely challenging. But I'm definitely getting stronger!
I had a really late start today. But I gave myself a target date to finish my new online course, so I'd better get busy.
Have a great day, everyone!5 -
Its Thursday.. YAY.... It's very dreary here and will be for the next few days... Yesterday I had lunch, so I lightened dinner up a bit and still stayed within calories... I also made up my workout I bailed on in the morning... Which was good because day 3 of the book was all about just doing it, no matter how much you don't want to, you committed to this, it's what you need to do.... so I did it, and I'm proud of myself dang it !
This morning exercise was easy, so I think it's all about finding that right balance. Today is resistance training again, I'm dreading it, but I know it's important, so I will do it... although I think I will do the squats without weights this time !
I ordered a meal service, ya know those things that come in a box... I never tried one before, so I thought I would give it a go, and see... It was 32 dollars for 4 meals for 2 people, so I didn't think that was horrible at all.
I got Kohlrabi yesterday at the store, that is my all time favorite veggie, I eat it raw with a dash of salt.. They are not a veggie that is available around here almost ever, most people have not even heard of it.. I tried growing them once it didn't go very well, but I will try again later this summer.
Steps for yesterday were 12,461
Have a great day !

@YinxFed - How long are your Heather Robertson workouts? I need the # of minutes to make the "translation" to # of steps. And how high are these workouts on the sweat scale? Are they aerobic, strength, HIIT, circuits? Any description will help. Thanks!
Great job on those weigh-ins - I didn't even have to nag! Only one missing - @MoStacy ? You still there?2 -
What are you celebrating today? Anything goes!6 -
Coming closer to the end of a Kitchen remodeling. Im happy that its closer to being completed and looking forward to being back to normal. Its been really hard with food choices, hating eating out and not having my regular go to foods easy available.4
