JULY GOALS ---
(1) Log all food and beverages honestly; Drink 10+ water [week 1 challenge = MEASURE IT!]
(2) Exercise 30 min minimum (3000 steps)
(3) Clean 30 min per day: house or yard or declutter
TASKS FOR TODAY ---
Do 20 min stretches and 30 min of walking
Feed & Water animals -- done
Organize Pet Room; vacuum & dust
Left the house shortly after lunch yesterday and didn't get home until wee hours of the morning. Dinner was provided at the event. Tried to be careful ... barely squeaked thru just under daily limit. Whew!! Need to buckle down, get eating and exercise back on track ... still want to try to make my July mini goal.
I've somehow lost my mental focus. So I've spent this morning researching "losing focus" ... "staying focused" ... "regaining focus" ... and how focus differs from motivation. Between now and the end of July, I plan to restructure my goals and, hopefully, develop a couple of tools to help stay focused and motivated.
If you have any tips on maintaining focus, I'd appreciate hearing them.
Have a great day Y'All!! 🌞1 -
Whenever I start to feel myself losing motivation, I read all of the posts on this site...I always learn something new!...I also have sticky notes with inspirational quotes inside my kitchen cabinets....if that doesn’t work, I think about how miserable I was 90 lbs ago....hang in there!0

Thanks Connie. I also use sticky notes. Mine are positive affirmations that I post on my bathroom mirror. It's a good way for me to start my day since that's the first place I head after getting out of bed. May need to write a couple of new ones! I have visited the Success Stories segment to read their success stories and view the pictures. I just haven't been able to be on the last 2-3 weeks and I think that's part of why I lost my MOJO.

Just back from a week's annual leave and now returning to the office full-time after 4 months of working from home, so won't be getting as much housework done during the week now. Boooo!
Monday 20th July- Pick myself up a nice dinner (it's my birthday)
- Laundry
- Log my food accurately
- Start my tracking spreadsheet again
- Aim for 5000 steps
- Treat myself to a face mask and a soak in the bath.
- Finish my current book

Today: Go to the store (when it opens for everyone, not just seniors) for coffee and ice.
Break down the boxes that had books in them
Get all the books back up on the book shelf instead of the piles the cat loves to push over.
Sweep and mop the library.
Put the sunflower garland up on the mantelpiece.
Read at least one of the books I checked out from the library on gardening and make notes.
Dispose of all the broken down boxes in the library
Put up the new bookshelf.
Make lunch: Hamburgers.
Make dinner: Pepper steak with rice or cauliflower rice.
Take meds on time
Drink the water
Stretch more. Like between every task. Maybe that will get the muscle knot in your right thigh to loosen.
If she's up to it, take Girlfriend to the YMCA to sign up for a membership.1 -

Tonight we are having char sui (Chinese barbecued pork) with hot mustard sauce, fried rice (which I'll do with cauliflower rice for my boyfriend), egg rolls, and crab rangoon for dinner.
Tomorrow night is pizza for Girlfriend and I, and Boyfriend is having baked cod with creamed spinach.2 -

Have a huge ham steak to cook for supper tonight. Found a recipe for mandarin orange glazed baked ham steak so will be trying that ... hope it tastes as good as it sounds!! THIS WAS AMAZING!! -- I had a single-serving jar of orange marmalade jam that I added for a bit of extra sweetness over the orange tartness.
Tonight's ham steak will be pan fried with a glaze of maple syrup, apple cider, and mustard.

Thursday 23rd July- Post in Binge Eating Challenge Thread
- Complete Tracking Sheet for yesterday
- Aim for 8000 steps
- Yoga before bed
- Listen to at least 1 chapter of audiobook
- Laundry
- Plan weekend food

Fold and put away the laundry in the dryer
Do a load of towels
Do a load of whites
Hang things up in the upstairs bathroom. (Organizer, towel ring, hook board, and art.)
Check to see if you need to do any precooking for next week (I think I need a batch of rolls, but I'm not sure.)
Continue trying to find the labelmaker so you can number the pile of new books and integrate them into the library. The pile is growing. Indeed, it is to the point that I vetoed a trip to the used book store.
Hang new shower rod in downstairs bathroom.
I think that's ambitious enough for one day.
