To Do List for Thursday, May 28, 2020

    Must Do List --

Eat Mindfully & Drink 8 water & Log everything in MFP
Do 15 minute Richard Simmons stretches
Do 30 min chair yoga routine
ON HOLD --- Dining Room -- declutter, vacuum, mop floor -- still decluttering
Dining Room ceiling fan -- Glass Housing (Sec1, Sec2, Sec3), medallion, blades - blades in process

ON HOLD --- Need To Do --
    Clean cupboards above stove/ref -- Cup1, Cup2, Cup3
Organize Closet -- just need to START!!
    Like To Do --
Get outside at least 15 minutes: yard work, run errands, etc

#1 PRIORITY -- Do Laundry for Brother (have approx 6 loads to go)
#2 PRIORITY -- Go to emergency distribution centers to pick up Food, Water, PPE, any cleaning supplies available, sanitizer spray for house walls, work gloves, 5 gal buckets, etc

The Plan: Do Laundry ... Go to Distribution Center. Do stretches. work in Dining Room. Do yoga. work in Dining Room. Do meal prep for lunch & dinner; do dishes. Do 5 min walking program. work in Dining Room. Play on computer for a bit ... do 15 minute chore (DR - ceiling fan/light) ... repeat.

I'm getting exercise hauling those heavy bags of wet muddy laundry downstairs and going up and down stairs to do laundry. My calves are sure aching today!! I can't do a lot of the physical stuff out at Brother's house so doing the laundry and running errands is my way of contributing to helping him.

And, amid all of this tragedy is an abundance of grace --- the outpouring of community involvement is astounding ... the overabundance of food, water, supplies and the volunteeers manning our emergency distribution centers is phenomenal ... all of the various work crews organized by United Way, local churches, local businesses, crews from other parts of the state, and crews coming in from other states (from churches, firefighters, Samaritan's Purse, etc).

Another blessing (strange tho it is) is the Pandemic since a large number of people have not been able to go back to work. Instead, they are eager TO DO!! Some wearing masks, some not. Doesn't seem to matter to most ... just ready to get the job done.

So grateful to so many; feeling blessed. Have a good day everyone!! <3

Do 15 minute Richard Simmons stretches
Do 30 min chair yoga routine
Do 4 5-minute walks (Step challenge for Fat2Fit group)

Have finished laundry for my brother and his wife. She is a quilter and the majority was quilts; some clothing. Each load had to be put thru spin cycle first to remove as much river water and silt as possible. Then washed in clear water with 2nd rinse. Then, washed with soap with 2nd rinse. Then, washed again with soap with 2nd rinse. Finally, with the quilts, put thru a final spin cycle. WHEW!! Was really happy that everything cleaned up really well and that the river silt smell was finally gone!

I'm also done doing the supply runs. One of his grandkids is home now for the summer so he is going to pickup that duty.

The June Challenge in my Fat2Fit group is a Step Challenge. My Team Leader says 5 minutes = 500 steps. If I do 4 chunks a day of 5 min each, I'll get in 2000 steps. If I do 2000 steps / day for 5 days, I'll have the 10,000 steps in ... days 6 & 7 will be a bonus. So, I've joined the June step challenge! Hopefully, this will help me get away from emotional and stress eating because of the flood ... and, back to my healthy living plan. The 2nd June Challenge is Jumping Rope ... don't think I'll be participating in that one ... it's just too uncomfortable jumping when you're at my weight. Am really going to push on the Step Challenge though; I really do want to increase my ability to walk comfortable for longer periods of time.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!! <3

It's JUNE!! The first day. Need to reconnect to the idea that being in the kitchen does not mean getting something to eat. Need to STOP grazing my way through the kitchen. Want to get back to the habit of not eating after 7 pm; that only water is allowed after 7 pm.

Darn it! had this whole post almost done and lost it so am having to redo it. The first effort was brilliant!

OK, I'm done. MAIN GOAL for today ... find things to keep busy so I don't get into bored eating, emotional eating, whatever eating.

    Have a great day Y'all. 👋

    It's V-Day (vacation day!) lol

I need to get a cardio video in because I won't be getting them the rest of the week, then try to get an elliptical session in, wash my dishes, clean out the cat pans, pack the last few things into the truck, call my cousin who is going to house sit, drop my oldest cat off at the vet to board for the week (with his age, he could pass any time, and I don't want to put that stress on anyone who is watching my cats - it would devastate my cousin if he passed away on her), and make sure I text the phone number for the park and our cabin number to my brother and my pastor so someone knows how to reach us if necessary - there won't be cell coverage, though there are places in the park that has wifi. (This is WV so cell coverage is spotty anyway away from the main highways, and I'll be in the national forest here near the Greenbank Observatory which has a 30 miles radio frequency black out zone around it to keep interference away from the big telescope).

Need to do several things outside: plant trillium; trim forsythia; trim lilac; put support fence around peony; trim rose bush; weed West side of house; weed East side of house; weed North side of house.

Today is trash day so need to get bins to curb. Have several errands today. I'd like to go to home/garden section to get a support fence for my peonies. Almost double height of previous years and the buds are enormous. When it flowers the weight will pull the stems over without support.

Governor has lifted most restrictions so I'm free to leave as I choose ... but think I'll still stick close to home most of the time since I do fall into the "vulnerable" category. I am looking forward to having one meal out at a restaurant soon.

Should be a beautiful day; looking forward to opening windows again. Have a great day! 👋

Went to Ace Hardware yesterday and got a tomato cage to use as support for peonies. They cut each of the three rings so I can spread it open. Hoping to install it this morning. I think I'd like to get 3 more; two for other peony bushes that are smaller and will fit within the circles of the cage and the other for my newly sprouted hibiscus. Then I want to go to the Farmer's Market to get some fresh Lake Perch and asparagus ... YUMMM!!

Should be a beautiful day. Have a great day! 👋

First chore is to go outside, enjoy the day, and put the support cage around my peony. The buds are loaded with ants and are huge ... so, they will start to bloom very soon. If the cage is not there, they will drop to the ground due to the weight of the flower. They are so beautiful. Then, since I'll be outside, I'll do a bit of pruning and trimming.

Should be a beautiful day. Have a great day! 🌞

Supposed to be clear and partly sunny with temp around 78 or so until after noon. This afternoon we're supposed to have thunderstorms move in. So, I'll need to get outside to do a couple of chores before noon. This afternoon I think I'll work on vacuuming and mopping the kitchen and dining room floors.

    Have a great day! 🌞

I always do this thread first as soon as I log in to MFP. I think it helps me focus on a plan for the day. It gets my mind thinking about MFP goals in a positive way. And, let's me rough out a plan for household tasks and errands. It doesn't lock me in absolutely ... I do veer into other chores, errands, etc. Or, if a friend calls, I can still drop everything and take off ... BUT the difference is I've set this plan in my mind so I'm more likely to keep my MFP goals in mind if we should stop to eat / drink anywhere.

@tinkerbellang83 I'm also an audio book listener. I like all different types of nonfiction books. A favorite series is J.D. Robb's "In Death" series (Nora Roberts). Stephen King has always been a favorite author; especially love audio that he narrates. Like all the romance variants: modern, historical, military, etc. Weird stuff like Dean Koontz and Laurell K Hamilton. Enjoy your day!! 🌞

I may regret this...I am planning to do 2 workouts this morning. I am super excited to have my gym classes back, and a former zumba instructor is also doing zumba at a park this morning. I don't want to miss either one, so I'll be doing Grit at 8:15, and then zumba at 9:30.

    Other goals for the day:
    1. Make a food plan for the coming week.
    2. Clean the bathroom.

I also think I need to go to work for a while, so I think I'll leave it at those 2 goals for today.

Hello. I’m new in this group. I have at least 40 lbs. I want to lose, but I like the idea to focus on goals. That keeps me going and is positive. I have 3 goals for today.
    1. To log my food.
    2. Stay under my calorie goal.
    3. Walk for 30 min.
Have a great rest of the day!

Hello, a Hit & Run kind of day. Basically same goals & tasks as Saturday. Today, I have to leave really early to help set up for a community "rally for racial justice" this afternoon followed by a Vigil for Justice. Both have speakers, tables for water, tables with brochures for different local groups trying to effect change, etc.

    Have a great day everyone!!

sometimes I put up goals, and sometimes I don't, but that's usually because I end up doing completely different :)

    But goals for today:

*finish up dinner for parents and grandmother who are coming over (chicken's in the roaster now; just have to nuke the broccoli and chop up salad vegetables and maybe run to Krogers after church and pick up some rolls.

*open the windows in my camper since its getting hot

*install the air conditioner in the back bedroom. I put the new one in the living room and am amazed at how well its keeping the front of the house cool; I think between the two of them, I can keep my house reasonable this year! The last 2 summers I just opened all my windows with fans and still had to run 2 dehumidifiers to try to keep the moisture down - and I live in a single story house with a crawl space! my poor 18 year old cat needs the cooler air.

*try to get a walk in

*pull my garbage for garbage day tomorrow

The best laid plans......decided not to watch a movie,John decided to vacuum so I had to mop, ended up with 3 loads of laundry, haven’t been to the gym yet, haven’t looked at magazines and have barely sat down!....decided to make some black bean salsa/salad, cleaned out the refrigerator, the yellow rice that was left is not to be found so someone must have eaten it!...cleaned the TV stand, wiped down the bathrooms and fixed lunch!...this isn’t how I planned to spend my Sunday!....

I have a quichecake to make today, and also some crab cakes because they freeze well and warm up nicely without being too demanding: Ideal "week before the move" food. I also really need to make garlic bread, because I'm going to have chicken parmesan for dinner, but I may or may not get that done. Yeast bread takes a bit and it's already ten am as I post.

Tomorrow someone is coming to give us a quote on moving the contents of our house, so I am endeavoring to tidy up enough that it's possible to see things.

I got everything done yesterday except the air conditioner, but tonight is jiu-jitsu so it's not going to happen today!
