@Trooworld - Great weigh-in! I find myself very curious about your week. I am thinking food not as bad as you thought and maybe plenty of calorie burning, which can include stress!
    Happy Anniversary!
Enjoy that special takeout and time with your husband! And a bath, even with unpainted walls!

@Cornanda - Great weigh-in! Hurray for being down this week!
Your empathy and your apology are inspiring.
We are all in an ongoing process of being present and learning to practice compassion.
I am reminded that I read a story this morning about Dolly Parton, saying that sometimes "you just do stuff not realizing, but as soon as you realize that it is a problem, you should fix it." So for me, you and Dolly are both inspiring. I know, for me, I work at being aware, and at seeing how quickly and lightly I can make it right, if I think I have put my foot in my mouth.
    t2flu27jmw3b.jpg

And all that said, I think this group is pretty awesome about assuming people mean well, at least as far as I can tell. Every time I stop and think about it, I am inspired at how much the conversation here stays focused on supporting each other in the daily challenges.

@TeresaW1020 - I hope you are enjoying your audiobook and puzzle today!
I have seen a number of WordPress courses out there, so maybe you can find something helpful? The public library where I live has some great-looking stuff on Word Press, so maybe yours does, too?

@Tracey0088 - Hurray for that great weigh-in, and for staying focused on taking care of yourself and your health in the midst of all that going on.
I raised my water mug in a toast, and am sending all best wishes for the health of your daughter and those twins.

@Karmary71 - I am sorry about your losing comments, but so glad you liked a Gina Chavez song.
Did you listen to/watch "Let It Out?" That one has such a happy vibe, and the video reminds me of some early MTV moments.

@LynnJ9 - I am so, so sorry to hear about your being in the hospital. I hope you were indeed able to go home today.
I know someone who has diverticulosis and had a diverticulitis incident. Once things settled down for him, it was not too challenging. Hopefully, things will settle down for you soon as well.
I did a little looking, since he does not seem to make a particular effort to avoid nuts and seeds, and found these articles. So maybe ask your health professionals more questions?
Mayo Clinic - Are there trigger foods I should avoid to prevent diverticulitis attacks?
Diverticulosis & Nuts - Dr. Michael Greger (an MD with a particular interest in nutrition) (older video, but he reviews them and leaves them up if the research has not changed; it's a very actively managed site)
I have no personal experience with this, but I eat a super-high plant fiber diet, so if you start looking for recipes, maybe some of those would be helpful.

OK, DO NOT post links to me without warnings, I just did it again! Grrrr, I hate losing my responses but am too freaking curious!

@Tracey0088 Congratulations, I'm so happy for you! Cheers and prayers from me!

@TeresaW1020 I actually had purchased from that site and didn't realize I had to do 23andMe first so they gave me a refund. I'll have to think about it, money's really tight with this diet but I'm really curious about the MTHFR gene (the Mother bleeper gene as people like me refer to it as!). I DID save the link, thank you! It's actually really interesting, my brother's decided to go gluten-free to see if he responds to it like I have been, he has some issues that could explain it plus he didn't have headaches on Keto so it'll probably help him. I'm excited to have them doing the diet too, he's already found some replacement for flour so I'll let him test-drive everything.

@Cornanda I get what you meant, you were responding to it not being fair that I'm dating someone who could eat at moderation and be somewhat unhealthy when I work my butt off and have to be real strict and am WAY more unhealthy. If I hadn't known him already I wouldn't have dated someone who isn't into health at all. He's in trouble when I can walk again!

@trooworld Baths are the best, enjoy! Happy anniversary! Great weigh-in!

    @Digger61 Great job at maintaining!

@AustinRuadhain I did listen to it, twice! It's a fun song, not as fun as Mongolian folk metal though, I've been doing yoga to it! I think that's not what I'm supposed to listen to when doing yoga, I caught myself whipping my ponytail in circles and realized what I was doing! I agree about our group being awesome, I've been thinking a lot of things I'm grateful for and this group is one of them.

Exercise- arm cardio, dance, hip hop, stretching yoga, abs, resistance bands legs for splits, Kundalini meditation for chakras, earth energy healing, self-hypnosis
    Calories- over
    Water- awesome

OK, I have crazy energy, I was saving it to vacuum, I can't do it until after 10 because we're in a heat wave and we're not supposed to use anything extra as we're having rolling blackouts. SO, I've been dancing around the house with a flashlight, I finally had to sit down and come on here to chill out or I won't be able to walk! Stupid vitamins and music have me bouncing off the walls, the cats are following me everywhere too. I wish my body could keep up with me! WIth the heatwave I've been waiting until night to go outside to do yoga and meditation but I come inside all energetic. I also have to sit around all day waiting for night so it's really boring. I wish I could get stuff done around here, I scooped up the equivalent of a cat in hair when I was dancing around.

OK all you creative cooks, help me out! I ordered gluten-free breadcrumbs. Now, any fake cheeses that aren't disgusting or ideas to replace cheese in the Giant Parmesan Turkey Meatball by skinnytaste I've shared a few times? Extra breadcrumbs? The meatball inside has parmesan and the outside has mozzarella cheese. I already put more basil in it. I've heard daiya cheese is good, no idea if they have replacements for those as I've never wanted to try it.

@Katmary - Well, yeah. I can't see being able to do better than Mongolian Metal on the Katmary Fun Scale. But glad the song was some fun!
I have a friend who makes her own vegan substitute for Parmesan cheese (the texture in the canister; not fresh). Here's a recipe to try.

    Weigh in Apple852hk
    Week 3 - Aug 2020 Sunday
    PW 139.3lbs (63.2kg)
    CW 137.7lb (62.5kg)

Lost - eating less as so tired rather sleep than eat. Also the weather this week was so hot, don't want to cook or eat hot food so more salads.

Ate KFC on Wednesday and so used to carb fries, buns and rice that next day didn't eat much the following day as tummy ache and no appetite.

One day i just ate brie for a meal as not hunger but want to have calories. Ate no chocolate this week.

The weather got cooler so yesterday ate potatoes wedges and lots of carbs - put on weight but still a lost from last week. Was doing well but ate cheesecake and soft cookies which isn't a treat, just didn't want to throw it away.

Went for 10mile 3hr30 walk on Friday felt good and not tired.

    GOALS
    1. Eat more cheese to feel fuller - need to finish the cheddar, feta, mozzarella and gruyère cheese
    2. Don't eat chocolate for a week

Well, so much for that larger loss last week. I know my eating has been off the rails for the past few days. TOM is also visiting, so I'm going to blame half of the weight gain on him. Hopefully next week will be better. We went to the store and bought more groceries for the hotel and I didn't even look at the Chika Boom  I am in Virginia for 7 more days with my son, so he is my focus for now.

    Have a wonderful week, everyone!

@vegan4lyfe2012 I really think you keeping your focus on your son is the best course of action right now. Whatever weight you put on will come off once you are back home. Just soak up this time and enjoy every moment. <3

@apple852hk Great weigh-in this week!! Stick to your goals and you will see the scale continue to be good to you. ;)

@trooworld Yayyyy on your weigh-in this week!! Glad you enjoyed your anniversary. :)

@bethanie0825 Hey weeks can get away from all of us. Great weigh-in!!! B)

Good job team on our Green and Place Team Percentages this week and in ranking top place for pounds lost. 26.2 lbs is amazing!!! Let’s stay focused and crush this month!! :star:B):star:

Today, was my final workout with my current hybrid calendar that I’ve been doing. I have enjoyed Barre workouts much more than I had thought I would. I am sure that I will that program again in the future. Starting tomorrow for the next 6 weeks I will do 21 Day Fix and then 21 Day Fix Extreme (both on Beachbody on Demand) and will also supplement the workouts with my treadmill. I got a couple of compliments that I am looking great this morning at church. That made my day!!

    Week 2 weigh in Thursday (13Aug2020) @broncobuddee I am so sorry - 3 days late!!!!! =<
    Previous weight:171.1
    Current weight: 169.9
    LTD MFP #2 65.1 lbs
    LTD overall 130.1 lbs
    Steps Thur-Wed: 92,078 (hi- 17,998 / lo- 10,792)

Oh my goodness - I have hit the skids on checking in!! My apologies team, I didn't even realize I forgot to do my weigh-in between working, mom and getting ready for a busy weekend! The past couple of days have been somewhat lax on food logging, too, gonna have to really watch it - I have been adding to yesterday's diary today. My cals are up - having internal discussions around not wanting to be above 169.9 so I need to really tighten up and get back into my routine. Water and exericise are lax the past few days, too - time to get back to right!

    More later!

@AustinRuadhain Love my fun scale! I saved the link, I may have to give up cashews too, nuts are really upsetting my stomach (of course, and cashews are my favorite nut!)

    @TeresaW1020 yay on the compliments!

@raleighgirl09 Great to see you, you got this girlfriend!

    Sunday check-in
    Calories- over
Exercise- arm cardio, Kundalini root chakra meditation, resistance band arms, resistance band for splits legs, splits (ouch!)

OK, my splits suck, there's barely a difference in two weeks, this is NOT looking good for my birthday! And I'm super sore from pushing it, I really want my reward bracelet which is ironic, it's amethyst for impatience and over-activity!

LOL @trooworld and @AustinRuadhain thank you for the link warnings! Both the cheeses (aside of rice cheese, just the name is disappointing!) sound good, I'm going to have to investigate more! So far I have the breadcrumbs on the way, I'm trying to figure out what supplements to continue and will order some more gluten free things then.

@vegan4lyfe2012 way to go on the weigh in! Have a wonderful time with your son, you;ll get back on track when you're home!

@apple852hk yum, cheese, I want to come over! Seriously, great walk on Friday!

@bethanie0825 Hope you've had a great mental health week!

I went to my brother's for dinner, they're going gluten free because of my test results (not full in like me). I mentioned how I'm stopping and replacing things I'm allergic to like deodorant and my SIL starts laughing and had my brother explain he's now allergic to regular deodorant. He wants me to bring my test meter over to see if he's diabetic too after my results. He's the healthy one in the family because he never goes to the doctor! I get stuck with stuff I HAVE to see the doctor for then get slammed with crap, welcome to my world! Seriously, I was hoping he'd stay the healthy one but at least he's taking issues head-on. I've decided on doing the additional testing to get to the bottom of things now that nuts caused a flare-up last night, if I could find out some of this without learning everything the hard way it would help a lot. My insurance is awful or I'd just go through doctors, I'm already on hold to rule out leukemia from a specialist then the nerve specialist is out and liver enzymes and blood pressure is being monitored. Freaking ridiculous to change your health and be doing horrible but God knows it can always be worse!

Can’t say I’m surprised by the weight gain...I did so bad this weekend with logging, eating and exercising from Thursday-Sunday. It was just so darn hot to do anything☹️. Hoping to get back on track and be motivated to actually eat better and move my butt!!!

@raleighgirl09 You just keep up your determination and you won’t see the 170’s again. B)

@Katmary71 I am sending you all my good thoughts and prayers that you will find out what is wrong and how you can best get as much good health back into your life as possible. It’s good that you have a brother and SIL to talk with and share your concerns. :)

@trooworld Yeah, you know your day is going to be an issue when you start it out with brownies and icecream. At least it was tasty, right? :D Hmm Japanese Curry sounds good! I hope you don’t lose power and that the heat will break soon. Summer is almost over…hopefully! :#

@buniphuphu Great weigh-in!! And yayyyy for a slimmer looking face!!

@anido1 Don’t beat up on yourself and just get back on your plan. I know it’s hard but you can do it!! <3

Hey everyone! I’m sitting here with so much booty pain!! :s Yesterday, I finished up my workout program with a leg day using weights. Then this morning I started the new program, 21-Day Fix and it was full-body cardio and the trainer used weights that did nothing to help my poor derrière feel better. AND tomorrow is lower fix day and that means legs and more booty!! I may never sit comfortably again. :#:D The rest of my day has been good. I fasted a little over 20 hours and didn’t overeat. I did a bunch of work this morning on the church’s website and FB page and made a grocery list for tomorrow.

    Monday check in

I am overtaken these days with the work, going to see my mom and getting my walks in - and not a lot of energy left after! Still here and had a better day today - got my walks in, all the water, calories down but still not where I want them to be (below 1200 on most days). I feel super aware of the new normal of being work bust again and helping my mom most days (broken leg, suregery, non-weight bearing for 6 weeks). She has a lot of other help but I go see her, make sure there's ready made food, etc. Try to de-hoard where I can.... =>

I am up a few pounds and kinda puffed up - may or may not be where I want to be by the end of the week but will keep pressing forward for positive strides toward goals. And do some forgiving...

@Katmary71 I sure hope that all of the healing hands and brains can figure out the reasons and come up not only with answers but some solutions.
    @buniphuphu way to go - you're doing great....is blue hair magical??? =>
@trooworld gotta say - that breakfast sounds DIVINE!!! Happy anniversary!

@trooworld I hope your power doesn't go out, this heat is brutal! I've had a flashlight nearby every night just in case, we're having rolling blackouts too. It was 108 today, yesterday was a little hotter and I completely gave up on outside meditation but I did it today. My cherry tomatoes went from green to sun-dried in one afternoon!

@buniphuphu yes, congratulations on the selfie showing your results, you're doing all the right stuff! I hope the MRI is nothing serious.

@anido1 You got this, hang in there and just do your best for now!

@TeresaW1020 Oh no, I hope you aren't as sore when you read this!

@raleighgirl09 Your mom is lucky to have you, as someone who's needed help from family I can tell you having that support is priceless. Thank you from the other side!

Exercise- chair cardio, cleaning, abs, stretching for splits, meditation
    Calories- under
Water- great though i drank too much coffee

Not much new, just kind of drained today, I took on too many problems of others to my own detriment. A friend is a little too needy and I'm not sure how to get him to depend on me less at this point. I couldn't take it after a couple hours and wouldn't talk to him anymore while I cheered myself up cleaning so of course now he thinks I'm mad at him when I just needed space. I talked to a MFP friend on Zoom for the first time and she was awesome so that's a bright spot of the day, it was fun to talk with her. Is it POSSIBLE to not look horrible in Zoom or do I just have the worst self-image ever? By the time I'm done I want my hair colored and styled, more make-up, fillers, and a neck lift!

GretchenReine sounds like somebody threw a dynamite in your life and of course that’s all you could focus while there are flying pieces everywhere.
If you want to take your mind away, or to feel that you control something, I’d say pick something really small, easy and that makes you feel good: a glass of water after or with each meal, a 10 minutes walk, play your favorite song and sing and dance with it. Put stickers on the calendar when you reach any so it will show that you are going on at your own pace.
I’d also suggest you post here. We are here to listen, support and encourage each other. Lean on us!

It was looking a little rough yesterday, I'll admit. I've had a stomach bug since Sunday so my weight shot up 5lbs overnight and I was super bloated. I quit eating last night at 10pm and just ate at 545pm so hopefully my stomach has reset itself...gah I hope!!!!

@GretchenReine I'm sorry you're dealing with so much right now. Is there anything you can do to let off steam or something you can do that would help relax you? For example, if I didn't work out somehow I'd go nuts. Even a short bath is a way to pamper yourself when you need some extra time to regroup. Same with going outside for a short time, something about being in nature always relaxes me. Big fat hug for now though I know it's not going very far! Prayers things improve for you soon.

@trooworld I'm sorry you're hurting today. Pain is so frustrating, you can't just lay in bed (I guess you can) or it gets worse, but it hurts to freaking MOVE too! There's definitely a fine line with moving "just" enough and taking it easy. I hope you wake up tomorrow feeling better. Sadly being in the sun helps my pain a lot (except for the groin, it helps to use ice packs there and let the rest of my body bake) but it was 105 today, there's no way I'm going outside aside of grabbing some basil or watering the plants.

@leonadixon What kind of cervical surgery are you having? What is the recovery time? I had two fusions in my low back, one for a second surgery for a disc that reherniated and the other for congenital stenosis. The recovery time was a year then, it was a tougher surgery than my disc excision and I needed my hardware out, I had to wait a year but it was worth it in the long run.

@Tracey0088 You're slaying it, way to go! No wonder you're seeing results, that's some tough cardio!

@bethanie0825 Oh no, I hope you're feeling better! Nice loss!

    Tuesday check-in
Exercise- arm cardio, hip hop, arm resistance bands, leg resistance bands for the splits, yoga.
    Calories- under
Water- over though I drank a LOT of coffee!

I'm in more pain than I have been lately because I insisted on cleaning the house yesterday and overdid it. I really need to make a list and do one thing a day only. Instead I had a TON of energy so I worked out an extra hour and went to the grocery store so I didn't exactly take it easy. The guy I'm seeing is here so I'm dragging him to Costco again, I get to save money and make him push the cart, it's awesome! I wish that store wasn't so big, it's always a toss-up for me but having a helper makes it worth it. I ordered the xcode genetic testing to get the additional allergies and other information. I'm a little scared about some of it because I already have the majority of stuff on each side of the family. I DID find a good-smelling natural deodorant to try out for workouts, it's day 3 of no deodorant (I'm allergic to artificial fragrance), I had to pick a heat wave to get through the detox then my guy came over so I don't want to stink too bad, I already stink like deep heating rub! One thing I can say is he's getting the full real me with no artifice, between my pain and singing Mongolian folk metal I'm surprised I haven't scared him off yet!

Oh, I found a gluten-free lactose-free cheese at Raley's in the deli! It's Jarlsberg and it's a swiss cheese, I figure that would be better than almond cheese since I have no clue what that tastes like on the Giant Parmesan Turkey Meatball. My gluten-free breadcrumbs come Thursday so I'm making it then, yay! One of the things listed that says I should try going without is nightshades but the only things I can put with things are salsa and pasta sauce and even those are hard to find, I'd hate to lose those too!

    Weigh-in (8/1/2020): 289.6
    Weigh-in (8/5/2020): 288.0
    Weigh-in (8/12/2020): 290.2
    Weigh-in (8/19/2020): 293.4

UGH I'm so slipping! The last couple of weeks have been rough with personal life crap. Court and my daughter going back to Florida. Last night I went home and went right to bed after work because I haven't been sleeping well. I packed my gym bag and brought it with me to work so I can stop on my way home. I need to get my groove back. This is just getting too sad for me and way too tough.
