Wednesday check in. UGH, it's been a very long and stressful week, so I'm not surprised at this week's gain. Insomnia has reared its ugly head which really affects my eating. But I'm at the end of the tunnel of the cause of this week's stress, so here's to a better week next week.
Not the dreaded insomnia! Oooof. That is hard. Take those small breathing breaks, and we'll all hope you have an easier week coming up.
Thanks for the great links @happimess01 and the team cheerleading @PlaneMonkey !4 -
OK Team! Ready for Wednesday - led as always by the woman from the future, @coffeetwist

Can I skip weigh in Friday? I don’t think that’s going to be the best time to weigh myself lol...1

So I went to the dr yesterday and had her give me anxiety meds, I am not sure if I am having anxiety or some weird form of heartburn, but apparently anxiety can cause heartburn, anyway, I got meds, I didn't opt for the ones you take daily, I got the ones you only take as needed.. It's actually an antihistamine, but it's also used as an anxiety drug, anyway, cross your fingers it works...
I didn't exercise last night, I just wasn't feeling it, but it's okay I will make it up this week, I still have enough days to get everything done, and if I don't it's okay too ! Holiday weeks seem to just throw me off, not only by schedule but they mess with my mental health too, and I can't quite figure out why...
Anyway....
I tried a new thing this morning,I use the Down Dog app for my yoga , well they have other apps, they have a HIIT one, and yesterday they rolled out a revamp of it, it's completely customizable, so if you don't like lunges you can tell it you don't want to do that. You can pick to do leg day, or core day, or total body for bad knees, or total body no jumping, they have one called bubble butt, I think I will be doing that one alot, I definitely have the flat bottom gene.... You can pick your music, and the voice of the person telling you what to do, your level, the time for exercise, and rest, and how long the whole work out it, so it's like seriously customizable... So I did 7 minutes of it this morning, I think for December, I am going to do that for 10 minutes in the morning, then do my video for 15/20 - I think it's time to take my morning routine to the next level, so I will work it bit by bit, till I just do the HIIT for 30 minutes each morning.. it will mean my step count goes down, but ya know I gotta get out of the thinking that 10k steps means I'm doing well, because thats just not true...
Also the App is free until Dec 15th, if anyone is interested in checking it out... it's called HIIT Down Dog, it has a furry dog in a step motion as it's icon.
Running my 5k In the morning, I told the hubby we are doing it rain or not, we have jackets... I think we will go to Gunpowder state park, it's paved, and on the water, and will be empty.. I gotta earn my slice of Eclair Cake tomorrow !
Anyway, hope you all have a great day !6 -

Not surprised, but I am still bummed. I killed my workouts, but I am eating too many carbs.5 -
I cried myself to sleep last night after the provincial lockdown update. I'm barely holding on today.
I'm not able to pretend any kind of positivity right now.9 -

Not much of a gain but a little disappointed about it, considering that on Monday I was somehow 227.8 or so 😥
I'm not going to give myself a hard time, it is the holiday week after all. My fiance and I have an entire turkey to cook and eat 😋5 -

I'm hoping the anxiety meds work well for you - something like that saved my life right after I adopted my son and was finding the adaptation to his new life very, very stressful. Just taking it when I needed some calm and clarity for a while was amazing. Sometimes getting through a crazy time needs a little help. I hope it helps your heartburn too! That stuff is miserable.
I am definitely going to try the DD app - I am not much of a yoga person, but this sounds good. I am with you on the 10,000 steps thing too. It is WAY better than zero steps, but does not advance the fitness level much. My doctor used to say "walking is like breathing". That little mantra helped get me to up my game for sure. Especially when repeated with the world weary sigh that went with it! You are earning your Eclair Cake!! Yesss.
@Terytha - hang in there If everyone takes it seriously and hunkers down, it will be over soon. Keep writing, burn up the telephone lines as needed, and do silly exercise videos whenever you can.
And those of you worried about those little gains? See my first comment to @SMcFall0215 - your December week 1 is going to look great (or at least week 2!!), and we're all going to try to pull together to make the first 3 weeks of December as good as possible.
Happy Hump Day!5 -

This past week I was issued a challenge to post what I am grateful for on social media. My facebook page has been flooded with nothing but what people are grateful for and I have to admit it has made a huge difference in my life. This morning I woke up just thinking of all the wonderful blessings I have in my life. From family, friends, modern conveniences, technology, modern travel, warm weather, cool weather, the beauties of the world..... the list is endless. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow in what ever part of the world you are living.6 -

Super excited to be under 215! Feels great after the mini plateau I was on
@Terytha I understand the anxiety over the lockdown. The prairies are really getting hit hard. Alberta especially, you guys went from barely any restrictions to total lockdown. I had fun watching the Premier's of Manitoba and Quebec poke at each other through media conferences on the news last night. Each province is dealing with it very differently. Hunker down, stay safe, game and write to relieve anxiety. Virtual hugs are being sent your way

Got out of the shower and noticed for the first time that the towel fit all the way around me, without flaring out and leaving an open gap at the hip like it used to! This is fabulous, now I won't feel like I'm scandalously at risk of flashing the neighbours when I run back to the bedroom from the bathroom (reno budget hasn't allowed for blinds yet!) (or an ensuite bathroom!!)
Super happy!
I'm looking forward to that success sometime this winter!
Unfortunately, @jugar, that won't be today. CW= 188.2
Sorry, team. I'm hoping it's temporarily water weight from too much salty food. I'm going to work at getting more water and also getting enough solid sleep. These things make such a difference.
Have a great Thanksgiving, to my fellow 'merkins. Our family "bubble" (which consists of my spouse and my 2 daughters) will spend some time together...first time in about 20 years.
Yeehah!

Hello everyone!
I am so excited to be a part of this group. Thank you for having me.3 -
I forgot to introduce myself duh. I'm Dia from Atlanta. I gained a majority of my weight when my grandmother got sick. It was stressful taking care of her, trying to work and take care of my mother. Half of the time I forgot to eat or ate late at night, fell asleep for a 3 or 4 hours and back up again. Circumstances have not been the best at times but I'm learning to make myself a priority, to make healthier and wiser choices and to enjoy the process.4

Welcome @healthygirlintransit !
Dia - I hope you will find a good community on our team here. It is so important to have some friends you can lean on, complain to, and get inspired by. The best thing you can do is come in here every day, catch up on everyone's messages, and post about how you're doing. Questions are welcome, advice for others, requests for advice, explaining how you have done well, or what you're hoping to improve. Everything goes! It sounds like you have had a lot to do taking care of your mother and grandmother. Time to take care of you2 -

Hello everyone!
Welcome to @healthygirlintransit ! You will love this group ❤. Today was a great food day with lots of veggies and lean meats. Even some room for cookies 🍪 😋. I did weights the past two days so today is a no workout day. At least I am not so sore anymore 🙂. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the states. I plan to just enjoy the day and not worry about tracking or fretting. I will probably work out tomorrow but I am not sure if it will be weights or ballet. Something to do while the turkey cooks.
@Gidgitgoescrazy the down dog HIIT app sounds awesome. I love the customization options. I may have to give it a whirl while it's free.
@Terytha Dang, I'm so sorry for the shutdown in your area. It has been a long haul and I think we all have felt the pressure. Hopefully you can find some distraction to carry you through. Hang in there. ❤
All of the limitations are getting old with covid. My kids and I zoomed with my mom and niece today. It's kinda funny, nothing is really going on with anyone. We just talked about our 🐕 dogs😂 Hang in there everyone!2 -
If anyone is interested in Ballet Beautiful, you can try it for free for 7 days. Be aware the monthly fee is $40. I buy streaming videos instead because you can keep them forever and spend way less. It's a mix of cardio, barre and my favorite mat work! So if you like laying on the floor or classical music music check it out! And I love Mary Helen Bowers ❤ She's delightful and a mom of 3 littles.
