@Gidgitgoescrazy I can totally relate - As much as I want to lose weight, right now the goal is not to gain weight.5

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm slowly gaining my motivation back after my cup was completely empty the last few weeks, and wreaked a bit of havoc on my mental health. My cup is probably now only at about 20% full and while I would like to get back into regular meal logging again, I think I need to get it more full before I start that commitment again. In the meantime, I'm just trying to keep my meals as clean as possible, but not being overly strict as well.9 -

@jugar you're crazying up my days, ha ha! Today is Wednesday (right? am I nuts?)...Team Waistaways Zoom will be on Saturday 3pm Eastern Standard time. I promise to post the link again Saturday morning so nobody has to try and track back through the thread. Like Liselyn says if you want to click on it in the meantime to see how it works, it won't hurt, will just bring you to the date & time of meeting. I will reconfirm the password on Saturday also.
My eating is much better when it's my week in the office - brought all my lunches and snacks for the week since nobody is really using the breakroom fridge. When I got home I sampled some liver pate I'd made but stuck to just a sample and went for a walk then strung some lights. We'll see what the scale reads tomorrow. I don't mind if it's even and would be surprised if there isn't a little gain. Now to bed before I reach for a snack.
I am the Empress of Crazying Up Everyone's Day. Never ask a retired person who does not even leave the property for days on end to keep track of days! You are right. It is SATURDAY for Zooming. Sheesh. Someone ought to remind me to look at my calendar sometimes...5 -
So folks - things are looking realistic and positive on our thread today. Sometimes "not gaining" is a great goal - I have always said that the plateau is our friend, and sometimes we can just decide to have one. It is a chance for the body to get used to where you are, and then it will be easier to whittle off some calories in and increase the calories out a bit to set the losing going again when you feel ready. I am on a short logging strike for a while - the minute my weight goes any closer to the top of my goal range I log again. Make sure to define a cut off for where you start having more discipline and the plateau is a fantastic vacation.
I am doing lots of walking but not much else for the past few days, a bit of exercise bike to break a sweat, but no strength work and lots of quiet time. Our sauna is back in operation, and the sweat bath ritual feels very good. Winter is my favourite time for sauna - the liberation of going outside in the freezing temperatures wearing nothing but a pair of boots is fabulous. You never saw so much steam flying off the skin! It is a blast. Can't wait for it to be really, really cold
Keep well, everyone I'll be back later to nag for weigh-ins...7 -

@conleywoods Kristi!! Yay! Your hard work has paid off. Way to go. I know you've been frustrated for a bit. I'm sure this feels great. Keep it up!1
-
@conleywoods Ditto! Congratulations, Kristi that must feel so good. You have worked so hard. Proud of you.
Looks like everyone is doing pretty well. Looking forward to our zoom on Saturday. I am in the same mind of just don’t gain weight. I’ll happily take a loss, but realistically just want to hold through December. Although, interestingly, I feel more focused this month. Not restrictive though.
I did make these amazing cookies today. Fun to make. Peanut butter cookie, but like a pillow cookie with a Reese’s peanut butter cup in the middle. Then drizzled with chocolate peanut butter. These don’t tempt me as much as my chocolate chip cookies. Those are definitely my signature cookie.
I’m almost at my 9k steps so gotta move. I did get my weekly 150 minutes of activity today. Yay!
Food has been ok. And under calories for 3 days.
@jugar Your winter sauna jaunts sound fun.3 -
It's almost the end of the year, so the other Moderators and I thought it would be interesting to survey everyone in F2F and hear what you think. It's a simple survey - 10 questions only - I hope you'll take a few minutes to answer. Thanks!

Plus my steps being 4,320
Thank youuuuuuu
Cool! Can you remember the distance or average speed? The step "translation" works better when I know the speed rather than the calories burned. Thanks!0 -

@jugar I weighed in yesterday, updated my info then forgot to play it for you. It is: 187.0
Increments. Slowly, but surely!
Got extra walks in with my fierce coach/daughter. It’s helping.
More soon!2 -
It's really nice reading that most people are feeling positive and having little successes right now.
I'm doing good too. I always struggle to stay under calories on days when I can't fit in exercise, like yesterday, when I had work all day and my course in the evening. Even though I have 1520 calories I think I tend to want about 1700-1800 and any less than that takes me some willpower. Managed it yesterday though
I am just feeling so happy that I've managed to get back on this after a bit of a rubbish November, so am quite proud of myself right now!4 -

Sorry been MIA. Just very very busy and trying to stay on track. Not logging currently, just eating mindfully ( and trying not to snack) which seems to give me more consistently, regular losses but no big wooshes.5 -

Good morning. Definitely being in the office has helped keep my eating on track...now I have to figure out, make changes for next week when it's my turn to work from home. I spent much of last Sunday cooking big batches of soup & a beef stew, wrote it all down and calculated the per cup serving calories, portioned and froze. To combat the sweet tooth - bananas, yogurt, pistachio pudding and must either make or buy some applesauce. Starting out the day feeling good - maybe I can enjoy just 2 mini-lebkuchen with a coffee this afternoon! Hope you all have a great FRIIIDDAAAYYY!4

Happy Friday ! I did not exercise this morning, Fridays are my hubbys day off, so I will do it when I get home, because I get off early on Fridays. It is going to be nice this weekend, I think I will find time for a game of tennis ( lol, okay so I don't actually know how to play tennis, so it will be more of a period of ball chasing and swinging a racket- we have a court a 3 min walk from our house, so we figured we should use it for more than letting the dogs off leash) - We are also going to get up early tomorrow and go do a 5k to see if we can beat our last time... We are going to try to do it atleast once every 2 weeks, and make it a habit.
Yesterday was a good day ! Gonna make it two in a row !
Have a wonderful weekend !5 -
@jugar Your sauna is my life goal! Sounds fantastic!2

Everyone needs a fierce coach/daughter! They're never afraid to tell us the worst4 -
@jugar Great big hugs to you and your daughter. Jack sounds amazing. Those crazy Appies can really steal you heart. So good that your daughter will be with you soon so you can honour and remember him together.
The Zoom meeting sounds like fun but I'll be a pass this week. I look forward to reading all about it though.
A quick update on our son's condition. The best news was that he is COVID negative. But the rest of the week has been frustrating. They have extended his IV antibiotics for another 2 weeks so we will be in the city until at least Dec 27. And they determined his right eye was not responding to treatment so he had another eye surgery yesterday, much more aggressive. And the post-op protocol is quite intensive and restrictive. Plus the left eye still has an abscess on the retina so they are not sure what the outcome will be there either. It is still too early to determine the prognosis but we are praying they will be able to restore some functional vision. We are almost 6 weeks into this and although we are holding on, I am starting to feel things fray around the edges. Logging on and reading about all the things you have going on is a great blessing for me. It reminds me life goes on and we will too.7 -
@CurvyCalorie the sauna is amazing. My husband built it before building our "new" house 28 years ago - we had to cut some trees to make space for the new house and he milled them and used them to build our wonderful little sauna building right next to the pond. He knew that building a house was gonna hurt, so he made sure he and his 2 buddies had the sauna going every afternoon when they knocked off work. AFTER the crazy race to see who got into the pond first. The rotten egg contest was fearsome (and fierce!). I hope you end up with one some day - sure feels good.
@Gidgitgoescrazy you should post your 5k times so some of the rest of us can join you and see if our times improve! That would be a blast. (here I am adding a silent hope that you walk most of it...)
some great weigh-ins! congrats and thanks for the love note, @spyro88 - I'm really glad you came back too. What a team, eh?4 -

Honestly right I am not logging or exercising or really even thinking about weight loss but weighing myself weekly makes me stay accountable. I don't want to let my weight get out of control so I create my own health problems to deal with...6 -

@jugar reading about your sauna reminds how much I miss that part of a spa membership. I prefer the steam room but the sauna seems amazing right now. Your DH very wise man!
@CanadianGiraffe praying for your son. Can't even imagine the stress you are going through. May he respond to treatment and this last surgery be a success. ❤3 -
Things have been extremely stressful.
I met with a surgeon about my stomach and he said he'd love to cut me open but didn't think that would make me better, so he's going to recommend my doctor send me to a gastroenterologist. So more waiting on my stomach pain
I've been sick. I only just heard today I'm negative for Covid.
I'm not sleeping well and I'm not watching my calories. I'm just kinda drifting through the days.
Sort of hitting my breaking point tbh. In stasis waiting for it all to end. -_-9 -

11/12/2020:
❌ no excercise -> I was really exhausted today so had to sleep more and didn't find time for exercise. It seems for excercise I m more motivated at the morning and if I skip it I won't do it in the afternoon
❌ 1370 kcal != under 1350 kcal -> I ate too much peanutbutter unconsciously when I was working to solve a problem, then when its been solved it was too late for me and I was already above the Cal.
✔️ no added sugar
✔️ log foods
@jugar yes it was, I wish I was more deciplined and today was the same.4
