UGH... Got on the scale this morning, and it wasn't pretty says I gained 7lbs... I am going to work hard this week to be completely on point, and atleast get back to under 160...
So ya'll remember i got a new car in July well, son and I were out and about on Saturday, and something flew off a truck in front of us, and put a big ole scratch/ dent on the front qtr panel... So irritating, but we were lucky had he ( son was driving) not swerved when he saw it, it would have smashed the windshield...
Anyway, I did get up and exercise this morning, and I have a final interview with the Owner and executive director tomorrow for that job, so there are some positives...
They are calling for a snow storm on weds and I'm kinda excited, I want to see how my car does in it, it's supposed to be very good in the snow, and now that it has a dent, I won't be as concerned... LOL ... I'm taking it to the body shop on Friday....
Hope you have a happy Monday !

@spyro88 That sounds amazing! Itβs so nice getting together with friends!
@conleywoods Wow! Iβm glad you found the phone. Lucky! Does it work? Good thing you checked out the tag!2 -
Drawing that line again. All time high today - so glad Monday is not my weigh in day.5

Happy Monday, Friends!
Golly how quickly Mondays come around! So this morning I decided to stop work for Christmas. I have a busy week getting the house Christmas (and mother) ready so I decided not to give myself any more stress than necessary. I love my mother to bits, but she can be just a tad high maintenance.
Monday workouts are always fun as they make me feel that I'm starting the week strong. This morning I did a Heather Robertson chest and back strength workout - very cool!
Then my kitchen got my full attention.
I do hope you're all having a great start to the week.
Here are the steps and exercises from last week - perhaps I should do it this way from now on?
7th December -3545 steps / 50 minutes full body strength workout
8th December - 8222 steps / 44 minutes general aerobic workout
9th December - 3170 steps
10th December - 4205 steps / 26 minutes kettleball workout
11th December - 3436 steps / 37 minutes HIIT & core strength
12th December - 7850 steps / 36 minutes dancing workout

Monday is going to get stopped for a speeding violation, I swear! It's going by in a blur.
Amazing job on the weigh-ins @CurvyCalorie and @MandiSaysHey ! This is fantastic. Remember how great it feels so you can pull that memory out of your pocket when you're having a tough time later - let it inspire you. You rock!
Yes on the books idea @conleywoods - we'll figure out a good way to do that.
@Gidgitgoescrazy - that dent in your car sounds like it must have been rather scary Like the number on your scale taking a demented leap - that too will pass!! You are doing your workouts, and I hope the news on your new job comes soon. Hugs to you!
We had some fun wildlife encounters today. The two really young deer who hang around near us a lot were resting all curled up on the ground just outside our dining nook windows this morning. They are so fuzzy, ready for winter, but still look so young, you just want to go up and curl up with them. They were there for quite a while, and then FIVE grouse strutted by in one direction and half an hours later flew back in the other direction, landing nearby. The a pair of pileated woodpeckers were right outside (crikey they are big!) I stepped out quietly and they had quite a conversation about it. I can see how Woody Woodpecker's laugh is based on them!
I managed a good walk this aftenoon and made my favourite mushroom white bean soup, so I'm now looking forward to dinner. Back later!6 -

What an excellent workout week. Way to go! I love your variety.2 -
I did go for my walk yesterday. It was great. Listened to a Michele Obama podcast and saw a turkey crossing the road. ππ€£
Took another walk today and also took a look at my notebook I keep on this journey. Came across this that I used to keep track of my exercise goal for the year. I am determined to make December all colored in. Looking for a new one for 2021 if anyone has one. π

I love the coloring sheet for exercise. That is a fun way to keep track! Looks like your having beautiful weather. It was cold and rainy all day here. Blah! Haha Iβm not a cold weather person. I donβt mind snow, but the cold wind and rain is for the birds - or rather the turkeys. Hahahahaha
@jugar Your right itβs so motivating when your losing. Itβs amazing what our bodies can do! I need to be patient when those platos happen.

My younger niece just asked for THIS planner - the unsolicited advice planner. It looks like a lot of fun for anyone who is looking for one that is really different, but still useful for all those personal goals. Since we were talking about planners... https://shop.adamjk.com/2

@Gidgitgoescrazy You have lots going on right now! I'm so glad you guys didn't get hurt but what a bummer! Your poor car. Fingers crossed for the job!
@micki48 Looks like a nice day βΊ. Your workout sheet looks pretty colorful π Nicely done β π.
@YinxFed Good for you wrapping up work for the holidays π I will be right behind you, 3 more days for me.
Today I spent an hour and 10 minutes trying to work out but only got 31 minutes of actual exercise broken up through out the time. Kids kept needing stuff, then there were a bunch of ants π in my bedroom where I work out. Good grief π π³ π and how many times can children plug a toilet in one week?!? Oh well, I pushed through and got a workout in.
@jugar Those planners look funny π LOL4 -
@micki48 I love your workout sheet - might steal it for 2021!
I like the unsolicited advice planner too!
You're all inspiring me to start a new bullet journal in 2021. I've been pretty terrible with it this year, but maybe it will be my new year goal to pick it up again properly. I like Ryder Carroll's method (book here) as it gives a structure but also allows a lot of scope for creativity and doing things your own way - I just buy a blank journal and then make it work for me
Anyway - onto health/ fitness stuff! I was a bit rubbish yesterday and got to the "f*** it" point. That's the point where I've eaten over my calories and am like "f*** it, I've screwed it up for today, I'll just carry on screwing it up"... it's not a good mindset! Anyone else do this? One of my worst offenders is a rum in the evening, I LOVE my rum! I don't get drunk but I really enjoy a little drink and a piece of chocolate (just one) to relax at night in front of the telly. Yesterday I had TWO drinks and TWO pieces of chocolate. It was just one of those days.
But, like every day, today is a fresh day and I will start again.
That's the thing about this whole weight loss journey. You get so many new starts and you never run out of second chances (unless you decide to). So I'm keeping on slow and steady! Have a good one, everyone.7 -
Took a day off yesterday, from work and from logging too. Mum and I escaped the house and got a slice of pizza followed by a great ice cream. Working from home the rest of the week and I'm going to prep my lunch and snacks now as if I am going to the office. It might help me not reach for the 'other' stuff. I'm going to try to ignore the fact that on Thursday I'll probably shovel enough snow to burn all the calories I eat in a week, ha!
Inspecting my fitbit & heart rate last evening I realize that my evening walk, if I only just walk it, doesn't even bring me into the cardio zone. It's definitely improved when I do a combo run/walk. It's also a very flat route, there's one road I can start to include that has some inclines.
@spyro88 "You get so many new starts and you never run out of second chances" - I like that.

Sylvia, Look up racewalking... I do that for just a little bit while I walk, it really works your glutes, and gets your heart rate up, it looks super silly, but you could do it in intervals...1 -
I'm so not in a get fit mood ! I started my exercise this morning, I am kinda bored with the Leslie sansone videos, I feel like they should be doing more for me, like I've been doing them for months and NOTHING is changing, I know I should just be happy with the fact that they get my heart rate up in the morning and gives me a good start for the day, but for some reason that fact is not making it through this month... I like the hiit, but the level zero feels kinda easy, and then I think it's not doing enough because I don't get steps from it, but level 1 is hard, and I don't have the grace I need to perform a lunge to one foot balance, so if I can't do it right, why do it...
My brain is just not agreeing with anything I am doing right now, and I don't know how to get focused and stick with something, I haven't used my journal because I did it the 1st week, and I swear I crossed out each day 3 times and changed it... So I am just trying to hold on till this month is over and January comes, and these holidays are over... and I can pick something and just do it...
arghhhh... Okay I'm done ranting, have a great day !

Thanks, I'll look it up and I have no fear of doing silly walks (aka Monty Python) because I walk at night1 -
@spyro88 I totally feel the "F*** it" impulse. It is SO destructive! I think recently, like the last couple months, I have been a smidgen better at curtailing it, because even when you feel that way, you actually can always make it worse haha. If you have already over eaten, eating MORE is not helpful! But on the other hand, catching yourself and pumping the breaks for a second, you can do a world of good. But I find this can only happen for me like once a week. If I get the "f*** it" feeling again, I'm a goner. Meh.
@Gidgitgoescrazy definitely sounds like level 0 is not doing enough for you! I have never tried Leslie Sansone, I know she is so popular on MFP, but maybe branch out to a different workout style that will be interesting for your brain because it's new, but not as hard as level 1 (and work up to that?). Do you like doing strength stuff with dumb bells? I feel like the biggest difference I have seen in myself in quarantine is in my arm muscles, and I attribute that to not-crazy-intense but consistent dumb bell work.
@conleywoods your toilet trouble made me laugh. I do sometimes cherish that I currently live alone. I was so slow and lazy getting to my workout last night, good for you for getting that 31 minutes in!!2 -
Happy Tuesday!
I'm having a good chuckle over the blocked toilets and kids interrupting, turning a 30 minute workout into a 90 minute battle (or a 90 minute workout into 30 minutes of maybe exercise!) - those days are so crazy, but somehow we still miss them when the kids are grown. How weird is that? And @Gidgitgoescrazy - I LOVE those lunge to one leg balance things - all you need is a chair or some other piece of furniture beside you so you can hold on at first, and then slowly start letting go as you get better at it and your balance improves. They are so worth it! Don't move too slowly either, they are easiest with steady motion, then you can slow them down later.
I'm off to fabric store, and to get some champagne to celebrate my daughter's completion of a super tough training course, and having her in my bubble for Christmas (with the Army's permission, of course!). She arrives tomorrow night! Both kids will be able to be with us as long as they are not hanging out with anyone else. I have a feeling I'll be consuming more baked goods and other goodies than I have in ages, but hopefully the snow will be thick enough to snowshoe by the time the 30th rolls around. I'll certainly need to burn off a LOT of calories by then...
Have a good one! I'll have the report from the F2F survey done tonight so we can see what ideas people have come up with. If you have not done it yet, it is still open -
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NDQHF22
I'll close it tonight. Thanks to everyone who participates!2 -
Took a walk around the neighborhood with my DS little family. Scavenger hunt of Chrisrtmas lights. Little 3 year old grandson so proud he found everything on the list. We got down in the 40s that is cold here. I enjoy seeing all your pictures but grateful for warmer weather here. I do miss the snow on the mountains.3

Greetings Team Waistaways!
So this morning, my husband noticed that our little dog, Edie, was bumping into furniture (she sleeps in his office downstairs). When I took a look at her, I noticed that her right eye was bloody - she has a cataract in her left eye so she's already blind in one eye. Anyway, I cleaned her bloody eye and she seemed to be able to see us. However, she was still a little unsteady, so I took her to the vet's.
She underwent the ignominy of having her bloody eye squirted with a green liquid for the vet's convenience, but she's much better now. The bleed was caused by her scratching a lump above her eyelid. She has a follow-up appointment booked with the vet next week, when we will decide if she needs to have surgery to remove the cyst. Meanwhile, she has to tolerate eye drops twice a day!
@spyro88 The other picture is of the planner that I bought recently. It's still in its plastic wrap so that I'm not tempted to tamper with it until the new year!
Other than that, it's a regular day - I've done my workout, planned our meals (wasn't hungry enough for breakfast this morning), but we've had a good, balanced lunch. And dinner will be a Thai chicken curry with basmati rice. And as it's just 10 days to Christmas, I will have a glass of mulled wine after dinner.
That's all my talking done!
Enjoy your day, Friends!6 -
