    @bethanie0825 I’m a daily weigher too and if you know that the number is just data and doesn’t always reflect all the good work you are doing then you are fine. That bigger loss will show up next week. :)

    @digger61 Great loss this week! I hope you are feeling better. :)

    @Katmary71 Very wise for you to take it slow and rest so you don’t end up in terrible pain and worn out. :)

    @tslose It’s hard to always stay on track but you can get back on it for sure. That gain was so tiny it hardly counts at all. Enjoy your exercise. B)

    @apple852hk You had a great week!! Question for you. Do you buy those chocolate bars? Is there a way that you can not buy them or strictly limit how many you do buy at a time? I almost never buy chocolate for myself because I deem that off-limits before I ever go into a store. It’s when other people buy it that I get into trouble. Your little cubes are so cute! What do you do with them all? :)

    @Cornanda Yayyy I’m glad that you ordered the book!! Mine said it would come later than it actually did so maybe your will come sooner too. Did you get the workout book too? It was only $.99 for Kindle. It’s not necessary but it might be helpful if you can get it. I’m going to be posting a question a day so you will be able to at least see what we are doing and then once you get the book, you can catch up at your pace. But fingers crossed it will hurry and arrive!

    @trooworld Yayyy I am super excited to get started on doing the work too! I am out of town for three days so I will be reaching out to you soon to help with the daily questions. ;) Those nachos look amazing!! Restaurant worthy for sure. B) Congrats on doing the 20 minutes on the bike. Keep pushing yourself and like the water drinking your exercise will start to become easier and something you crave to do.

    :star:CONGRATULATIONS TEAM!! :star: We are the top winner for the week, and I think that is fantastic considering we are in week three of this new year. I challenge us all to dig a little deeper this last week of January and see if we can reach even greater heights. This week we lost 28 lbs. How about we shoot for 35 lbs!! B):grin:

    Today, was a great day! I had a lot of fun teaching the kids this morning in children’s church and then we took mom out for a steak dinner for her 78th birthday. Afterward, we came home and had the individual Keto cheesecakes that I made with fresh strawberries and caramel flavored coffee. It was soooo good and I’m super full right now. BUT, I didn’t have any real sugar today, even though at children's church I was in front of that big bucket of chocolate candy again. So, I’m calling that a huge win!! :grin:

    January Goals: 1/24
    No Sugar Challenge: 24 Days sugar-free!
    Fast for 19+ hours: I fasted 21 hrs. 45 min.
    Ate on plan: Stayed fairly low carb today. I had a baked sweet potato at dinner.
    Workout 30+ minutes: Barre Blend lean legs
    Drink 96+ oz. of water: I got all my water in for the day

    @bethanie0825 I do the same thing! Imagine if you had worked hard all week and only saw the 0.5 loss. It would be easy to think it wasn’t working but by collecting the data throughout the week you know the truth!

    @digger61 EPIC loss! Congrats!

    @apple852hk Great weigh in! I’m glad you found some traction this week.

    @trooworld I love The Sims too! Haven’t played it in forever, might find some time to do that soon. We usually play COD on our PS4s but sometimes WoW on our PCs.
    Good job on spinning for 20 - much better than slothing! The nachos look delicious!

    @TeresaW1020 Sounds like a great day - and great job avoiding the candy!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Well done team Slimpossibles! Great week all around!!
    I’ve had a nice, relaxed weekend and still have 2 more days before going back to work! Went for a swim with the little guy yesterday which was nice, and then my sister came around for a board games night. It was such fun but I did drink too many beers and didn’t have a deficit. But I did track it so that’s something. Didn’t go to bed until about 1am, but hubby let me sleep in this morning so that was lovely!
    Monday pop in
    Hi gang, sorry no check in yesterday! We had a very busy Sunday, turns out, which was not planned but fun. Only thing not fun is I ate from the jars of hot fudge and caramel sauce both Saturday and Sunday night so - it's going to be trashed. More on that later - not as satisfying as furniture polish being sprayed on it but I'll be dumping the jars and giving the cleaned containers back to my friend. Cals and no sugar BUSTED with that bit of foolishness.
    More tonight!
    MONDAY MINDSET!
    Good morning! For today's mindset check I would like you to think about the questions that I posted in this week's January Reflections Challenge
    1. Reflecting on this month how do you feel your 2021 health journey has begun?
    2. What could you have done better this month?
    If you already answered these questions on the challenge thread please recap for us here.
    Also, why not tell us how you plan to make this last week of the month your best week of the month!! B)
    This is my month Reflection:
    How did my month go so far?
    My January was slightly disappointing - I gained 4lb last week of the year and in the 3 following weeks, nothing happened. Not a thing.
    I said slightly because I’m a little bothered, while a year ago I would have seen red. I maintained when I wanted to lose, but guess what, threading the water is success. I didn’t know this before MFP.
    So yes, I’m shaking my head once, straighten my back, eyes front... and moving along.
    I’ll do that if for nothing else but because I promised that at 49 ( in about 4h) I will be more patient and kinder to myself .
    January reflection:
    I really had trouble getting motivated at the beginning of this month but feeling a little more on track now. I ordered the ebook version of the Beck Workbook as the hard copy wouldn't arrive until March and I'm anxious to get started Feb 1st with everyone else. I read through it already and found it had lots of good info and strategies.
    @TeresaW1020 Thanks for the encouragement. To answer the question pf do I buy the bars of chocolate; I do buy them. The reason is, there is chocolate at home that's not mine and I can't resist eating it. So I buy my own. If there was no chocolate that I know where it is, that would be more helpful. But also the chocolate is so cheap. I'm also gifted chocolate. Like Mozartkugen that was left over from Christmas. I don't want to let anything go to waste, so I eat anything. It's a hard mindset to shift.
    As for the little cubes, I hide a little chocolate inside it for my neice to open once she's finished her learning successfully. She loves opening it up than just being given a piece of chocolate. Of course, I don't want to encourage eating chocolate as a treat, so if anyone can think of an alternative that would be helpful. I've tried putting a sticker inside, but she doesn't enjoy that.
    @apple852hk You had a great week!! Question for you. Do you buy those chocolate bars? Is there a way that you can not buy them or strictly limit how many you do buy at a time?     @Katmary71 I was wondering if i should not post a photo of the wrappers as it might be a trigger. This Sunday I'll just post a photo of yhe cubes it represent.
    I'm sorry for not replying to everyone, my body is going nuts. We're having a storm plus I'm having hormone issues on top of everything else, I'm feeling pretty defeated.
    Hi all, sorry I didn't check in yesterday, it was Australia Day and I had a busy day. I had to prep a platter to take to my sister's place for a BBQ lunch, then spent a few hours there before I had to bring the toddler home for his nap. I had lots of housework to do, and preparing to go back to work today. So I did read through everyone's posts, but didn't have a chance to post myself!
    I did some strength training with my resistance bands in the evening while watching a documentary on Disney+. And I rode my bike for just 5 mins while the little guy enjoyed his bath. But, with Australia Day, comes drinking. I had a few beers (low carb, but still beer) and was over on calories for the second day in a row. The scale showed me this morning why I don't drink much very often - up 1kg in a day! Obviously I didn't eat enough calories to gain 1kg of fat in a day, so I know it's just water retention - a factor of the alcohol, high sodium foods, and the stupidly hot & humid weather we're having!
    Back to work today, feeling determined and well-rested which is nice! And drinking alllllllll the water!
    @buniphuphu Ugghhh it sounds like you are in a little bit of a rough patch. Winter is hard and especially when you are so used to being active and now your not feeling well and haven’t been swimming at much. You will find your groove again. <3
    @Jactop Yayyy I’m glad that you will be joining us in our Beck book study!! :)
    @raleighgirl09 Ohhh what a sweet hubby you have! And he is NOT insane. You know we don’t see ourselves the way others do. And your jiggly bits can tighten up with some toning. Do you lift weights at all? :)
    @krea4 Wow you lost weight and got to eat chocolatey chocolate cake. I’m jealous!! :grin:
    @trooworld Next month WILL be a good month. We have to purpose in our mind and heart to make it so! Awesome that you had such a good day. Stay in that groove! B)
    @apple852hk Yeah, that is really hard when there is chocolate around you. Could you maybe buy a bag of chocolate that is in individual pieces and put them in the freezer and only allow yourself one or two a day? We used to do that with Dove chocolate. My hubby kept the bag and would only give me one an evening with our tea. :)
    @anido1 Good loss this week! Keep it up. B)
    Hi Team! Today was a good day. I worked out, went grocery shopping, and then came home and did some reading in the Beck Diet book. Since I’m leading our discussion starting on the first, I want to be a little ahead of the game. I also got in some puzzle playing time for the first time this week. In just a bit my mom and I are heading out for the start of women’s Bible study. I’m glad my mom has decided to come. It will be good for her to hang out with the girls. I’m still going strong with being sugar-free and I’m thinking of going into February with much the same goals. Even if I do have cake at my nephew’s wedding it’s only a one-time thing and doesn’t have to dictate my whole month. Right? ;)
    January Goals: 1/26
    No Sugar Challenge: 26 Days sugar-free!
    Fast for 19+ hours: I fasted 19 hrs.
    Ate on plan: It was a Keto day
    Workout 30+ minutes: Barre Blend full body cardio
    Tuesday check in
    Whew, I am bushwhacked! Had a good day for everything but the steps - it has been cold and rainy for 2 days, I have not made steps either day. Overall my steps are typically much higher than 10,000, I guess average of 13,000, but I miss it when I just can't take the cold and wet. Heat - no issue. Cold and wet stops me in my tracks...(heh heh).
    I keep waking up before my alarm with a head FULL of thinking. I'm hoping to sleep to the alarm tomorrow. Took a half day from the full-time gig to go see the doctor I did some contract work for and wrap up several things. She's in a good place for the work and whatever little thing here or there they should be able to handle. I feel good about leaving her in a good place.
    @TeresaW1020 I don't lift weights - really I depend on walking for exercise. I believe if I really put in the effort, I'd see a toning improvement, like this inspiring lady - I just am not up for this yet!!! : https://www.instagram.com/trainwithjoan/
    @TwistedSassette that 1kg doesn't stand a chance of staying with you!! => What a nice celebration of Australia Day - do you ever refer to it as Aussie Day......? Just curious!
    @anido1 what a great weigh in, way to go!
    @apple852hk I thought it was neat to see the wrappers and cubes but I can see wondering if you should try something else with your niece. She may be a bit disappointed with anything less than chocolate, especially if you already know a sticker didn't cut it! You could make it a smaller candy most of the time and a bigger one occasionally - but I guess I'd assess if it's an issue to give her the chocolate. If this is the one way you treat her to it and it's a special thing in your relationship, is there a reason to stop? I don't know, maybe there are reasons you'd be concerned but if there is no underlying reason, maybe it's ok to keep it. You can also use it as opportunities to casually talk about treats and good habits as she gets older. Just a thought.
    @trooworld WOOOOHOOOO look at you go!! The groove is a great place to be, you go girl!!!!! B)
    @Krea4 terrific loss this week, way to go!
    @Jactop I get, we've all been there. It's so hard to pick back up but it's the first steps that are a little creaky and then you limber up in your mind... => Looking forward to hearing about the Beck's Gang in Feb, WOOT!
    @buniphuphu I sure do hope you can start getting more swim appointments - come on summer, we need you so that the exercise gets easier to do!! I know you're looking forward to opening up your home lanes!
    @raleighgirl09 It's always just Australia Day to me. I'm sure some people call it Aussie Day but not that I've heard. It usually gets shortened to Straya Day - the bogan/redneck way some people say Australia!
    Thanks for sharing the insta link, she looks amazing!
    @trooworld Thanks :smile: I didn't know Leslie Sansone had a subscription, or that she had videos with weights/bands. I might need to check some of those out!
    A good day for me yesterday. Overate a bit, but also played Beat Saber for a while which is kind of like dancing so it does burn some good calories and definitely gets my heart rate up! Wound down with some yoga before bed, which was nice. Though I have woken this morning with a headache so that's not great. Busy day at work ahead so I better get started on that. Happy Thursday (Friday Junior)!
    @raleighgirl09 Joan is one inspiring lady that is for sure! She is a weight-lifting bad a**! :grin: I hate when my brain won’t let me sleep fully. I hope sleep will get better for you. :)
    @trooworld That is fantastic that you joined Leslie Sansone’s monthly membership! I’ve done her workouts before and they will definitely give you a great workout. I personally find having a membership really helps keep me motivated and dedicated to my workouts. Good luck with finding weights. It hasn’t been easy since Covid. Resistance bands are great and easy to find. :)
    @TwistedSassette Sorry that you are dealing with a headache. I hope you feel better soon. <3
    Hi Team! It’s quiet around here today. I hope everyone is doing OK. I’ve done well today with my workout and eating. I did my new Bible study for a couple of hours and worked on my packing list for my trip to Florida next weekend. I’m not thrilled about driving to Florida but seeing my niece's newest daughter will be fun. 😊
    Wednesday quick peek in
    My peeps! Whoa, late already but I need a check in!! I have had a couple really good days in the green and the Habit Tracker has perked up for me - weigh in tomorrow which I have not done in several days because I chose to not look at a road trip water weight gain. So tomorrow is my first look - and yours! - into how I have done, imperfect days and all.
    I'm really going to watch my weekend - that was my pitfall for this week. I'll need to plan better for a dinner before driving Friday evening and then follow that up with a plan to be ok with extra calories on Saturday and back to it on Sunday; that's my plan for this weekend. Also - I'll be at the coast for a couple of weeks and will need to be mindful to maintain good habits at the coast the same as I do in Raleigh. By the way - Henry is going with us and I hope to get him out to the beach for a photo shoot and another Henry book!
    Take care pals, more from me tomorrow morning!
    @apple852hk I'm sorry if I made you feel bad about the wrappers, I'm super suggestible but don't follow through most the time so don't worry, I didn't go buy them! I'm not reading people's diaries while I try to get back into the swing of things because it gives me cravings.
    I'm doing the same stuff, having a harder time than normal because we're having storms plus I haven't had steroids since December. Basically it looks like the next week of storms will mostly be spent in bed drinking cannabis tea.
    As far as this month can't say it's going great, I'm waiting to try something new but it hasn't arrived and I ordered it at the beginning of Dec. I'm doing okay with some bad days which has to do with pain levels. I'm trying to avoid steroids because I've gained a lot on that and this anti depressant yet I'm suffering so I don't know the right answer. When I feel horrible it's hard to think beyond the moment but I've got to distract myself in other ways.
    Thursday preamble
    Good morning to all! Yesterday was good as I was able to get 2 walks, something the rain and cold kept me from on Mon/Tue - and I woke up to snow so it depends on the day as to any walks, let alone 2. We'l just have to see and not get all worked up about it.
    I was up several times in the night but right back to sleep each time and didn't wake before my alarm, yay! When I was awake in the night and my brain seemed to start gearing up for a marathon session, I turned thoughts away from work, actively pushing the thoughts away. My mind is so busy with everything before us for the integration that it's hard - but I was able to do it well enough to not lose sleep and that's all I can ask for.
    @GabiV125 good drop this week, it's all in the GRREEEEEEEN!!!!!!!
    @AustinRuadhain so happy to see you popping in! Dreaded PB and raisins... I recently had to 86 two half jars of homemade salted caramel sauce and hot fudge all because I needed to get back my sense of self control. I didn't even trust myself to hide them! YAY for an on-track day!
    @Katmary71 will the pain levels be better when there are no storms, even with no steroids? What a tough decision, you have worked hard - I wouldn't want to just scrap the progress, either. I hope the cannabis tea is just the trick for the stormy days! <3<3
    @TeresaW1020 - WHEW, your sugar free days are stacking up, way to go!! Safe travels to FL (I am so jealous, love FL and hate the cold and snow, even though it's rare for us). I think there has been a funk in our little space, here, as we settle into the year and everyone seems to be having some not-great weather. Soon on to February and then we can get onto March and we'll be past the coldest and wettest (says my positive side!!)
    @TwistedSassette Straya Day!! YES - something similar would have happened in the US by folks. I love accents, especially an Aussie accent (Straya accent!) and the different vocabulary people who speak English from all parts of the world use. It's really fun - of course, it seems that everyone else has an accent but *I* don't....!!! I wish I could hear my own accent in the way others do. I live in a southern state, NC, but don't have much of a southern accent - folks in the US will comment on that and ask how that is. However, I have been told by colleagues from other countries that I have a very strong American accent - I cannot even fathom what that is or how it sounds.
    Anyway - not sure why I went on this tangent but Australian accent is one that I find delightful - and Irish where I believe @padjoetho hails. The Brits and folks from the UK (is that the same thing......? Showing my dumbness, here) have a lovely accent and I have been trying to adopt just the right way to use the word brilliant - something good happens......? BRILLIANT!! B)
    I'm curious - What do the Slims outside of the US think of the American accent?
    @trooworld YAY for signing up for Leslie Sansone's monthly membership, Walk at Home!! You are really taking January by storm, so happy for you and your progress, way to go!
