HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. At the end of the month we celebrate everyone who lost every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you need a week off, a break, a change of weigh-in day - just ask your Captains here on your team chat page. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions and weigh in if you want to, but your weigh-ins will not be counted on the weekly tally. If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to ask if you are travelling, sick, or just needing some time off.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You need support to maintain, and you can help your teammates join you. You continue to weigh in every week, and if you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month and year begin!!

Hi all! So excited for this new year, it feels like a fresh start where we can put the turmoil of 2020 behind us!
I’m Christie, 34, mother to a two year old toddler and working full time as an accountant at a gold mine in rural New South Wales, Australia.
I have battled with my weight for my whole life and it’s only in the last year that I feel like I’m starting to win that battle. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my body, and feel confident about the year ahead!
I have found great support in this group and I hope I have contributed to supporting others here as well. Welcome to our new members!7 -
Well, the first day of January went well for me! I spent the day doing housework and relaxing at home. In the evening, I did some HIIT and some yoga (both on Apple Fitness+) and then spent a little time on my acupressure mat. It was a great start to the year! Has anyone else tried the workouts on Apple Fitness+?

Goals for January:
Sleep: 13.25/200 hours (average 6.6hours)
Total Calorie Deficit to Date: -22
Exercise: 65/600 minutes (average 65 minutes)

Hello everyone!!! Welcome to our new members - and welcome back returning members!! I am soooo glad you are all here!
I am Teresa one of the Fat2Fit moderators and your Mission Slimpossibles captain along with Mark (@broncobuddee) The Mission Slimpossibles also have three incredible motivators, @AustinRuadhain, @raleighgirl09, and @Katmary71.
Stuff you need to know!
1)Weekly Weigh-In
Please read the opening post so that you know how to correctly record your weigh-ins so that @broncobuddee can easily find you every week.
LOSS TO DATE is our new way to keep track of your weight loss milestones that you accomplish along the way. If you haven't given us your starting weight (and that number is for you to determine) then please do so at your next weigh-in and @broncobuddee or I will get you onto the spreadsheet. Then going forward you will not need to add it to your weekly weigh-in and when you hit a milestone (like 10 lb, 25 lbs, 50 lbs, etc. loss) we will make sure to celebrate you and all that you have accomplished!
2) Check-ins
Along with our weekly weigh-ins, we REALLY encourage our team members to participate in regular check-ins. It’s a great way to stay accountable to yourself and it allows the team to cheer you on and offer support as you need it. Remember the purpose of joining a group like this is not only for accountability to a weigh-in but also because working towards our goals helps when we are surrounded by like-minded people. We are stronger together!!
3) Habit Tracker & Challenges
For added help in your health journey make sure to take advantage of our Habit Tracker and Challenges that you will find on our Home Page. Tracking our habits and doing the challenges will keep you mindful of your choices and help keep you motivated. If you have an idea for a fun challenge then please head over to the Idea Lounge and let them know. “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” ―John C. Maxwell
Finally, let's get to know each other! Please share your name, where you live, and what brought you here to The Fat 2 Fit Challenge Group. If you have specific goals for this year, please share those as well. We are here to support and cheer you on!
I’ll go ahead with my introduction
As I said above, my name is Teresa! I'm 54-years-old and live in Georgia with my incredible husband, my mom, and our fur baby Maggie Mae. I work as the ministry assistant for my church and am a teacher for our children’s church. My favorite things to do are working jigsaw puzzles while listening to podcasts, searching Pinterest for yummy recipes, hanging out with my husband, playing with my dog, shopping, and going to church. I also love to workout and use Beachbody on Demand programs along with walking on my treadmill.
I’ve struggled with my weight most of my life with lots of ups and downs along the way. For the last couple of years, I have been doing intermittent fasting and believe that it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my body. I’ve tweaked my eating plan often over the last couple of years and currently, I’m focusing on low carb to Keto as my primary way to eat. I have lost over 70 lbs. and am determined to get the last 30 lbs off in 2021 and finally live my life in maintenance, which I know will be a different kind of hard, but so very worth it!
If you are interested in IF, I highly recommend Gin Stephen’s new book, “Fast, Feast, Repeat” and her podcast Intermittent Fasting Stories. I also think everyone should read Dr. Jason Fung’s, “Obesity Code.” It was life-changing for me!
As your captain, I promise to remain available and supportive! This group means so much to me as does the success of each one of you. Please feel free to add me as a friend and message me any time.
OK…your turn to share!

@TwistedSassette I am so excited for the new year too! There is just something about a fresh start that is so energizing. I had not heard of Apple Fitness plus and just looked it up. That looks amazing! It’s a little cheaper than my Beachbody on Demand which I just signed up for another year. You will have to keep us posted on the workouts and how you like them.
Hi Team! It has been a cold, dreary, and constant rainy day here. Good thing that I didn’t have any plans and have been mostly relaxing. I didn’t get much sleep last night because my little dog had a major freak out over the fireworks going off in the neighborhood and kept us up until after 3 am. Plus, I drank most of a bottle of champagne and ate a bunch of dark chocolate. I woke up excited that today was a new year and that I had big goals to achieve. I know that I will do even better tomorrow. 😊
January Goals: 1/1
No Sugar Challenge: I was sugar-free today
Fast for 19+ hours: I fasted for only 16 hours due to staying up so late and drinking champagne
Ate on plan I was strict Keto today
Workout 30+ minutes: I did #MBF Cardio Core
Drink 96+ oz. of water: I will have 100 oz. by the end of the day.
2021 Focus Word: TRANSFORMATION

Hi my names charlene I’m from the UK and I work across early years. I’m also a mother 4 who enjoys waking my dog spending time with my family going to the gym and dancing when I get the very odd chance of a night out ha. I’ve slowing been gaining weight over the last 8 years and it’s scary to think back then even after 3 kids I was a uk 6-8. I’ve suffered with sciatica now for the last 8 years and now developed chronic sciatica this last year that’s now affecting my work and day to day life unfortunately after ending up in hospital in September it seems there’s more going on. So I’m now going for more test got a full MRI scan tomorrow also I hate pain killers and now gone form the odd one to 14 a day all this is really making an impact on my health and it’s made me think more about my health, weight, exercise and nutrition I’m desperate now to make and change and hopefully help myself become a more healthy and happier person not just for me but for my family and the people around me. sorry for the long message haha10
-
@Cstockton18
Sorry to hear about your I'll health. I hope the MRI will reveal something that is treatable and help you to establish healthier and happier lifestyle you want.3 -
I'm Kath, I live in the UK and I joined this group in December. Although I gained weight I think being part of this group helped me to stop earlier, in the stuffing my face scenario, and therefore not gain as much.

Stating weight Jan 1st =
66.85kg 147.4 lbs
I weigh in on Sundays
No sugar challenge
Sugar = 0
Me = 1
Streak = 1
For the last 16 years I have been riding the sugar wave. My snacking on sugary food is almost constant.
My plan is to not eat sugary "treats" - chocolate, cakes, biscuits, cookies, sweets etc.
I would love to make it through the whole month but that maybe unrealistic. I will be very happy is I have more me days than sugar days 🙂
Tonight the kids made microwave cakes (for the first time) and topped them with icecream - the cakes weren't a not a huge success but I'm very proud that I didn't even try a bit - not even a lick of the icecream scoop 🤗

I’m Gabi, 49, married and have a desk job.
For many years I’ve been on the weight loss seesaw and in 2020 I finally switched to the slow route. I found this group in August , just when I was starting to lose my footing.
Currently on my last 15lb and walking is my main form of exercise, so the loss slope is very modest.
Holidays had been a lot of fun, and now it’s time to go back to where I left off.
Welcome to our new group members and best of luck!5 -

@TwistedSassette Well done! Nice way to start out the new year.
@TeresaW1020 I hope the weather clears up for you. Poor Maggie May! My dog hates fireworks, too, and they shoot off guns here too. Luckily my guy couldn't hear them, we kept the doors and windows shut and the TV on.
@krea4 Way to go, keeping away from the sugar! I wish you a long streak.
Hello all. Nice to "meet" you. I live in Southern California in the US with my husband and a spoiled dog. I'm on WW and have been for many, many years off and on. I track exclusively in WW, the only thing I use MFP for is the discussion boards. I hate to exercise but am hoping to change my attitude this year because CHANGE HAPPENS. My weight problem started in my mid-20s and hasn't let up. I hope to make substantial progress in 2021.
Check-in: I did very well yesterday. I started the day off with a walk around the neighborhood and pretracked my meals for the day and even pretracked my meals for today (yesterday). I worked really hard physically yesterday, we decluttered and cleaned out our spare room which I call the Black Hole because it was such a mess. It was a lot of work and I'm sore today from it all. We were too tired to cook last night so we ordered takeout. Takeout food has become quite the problem these past few weeks but last night, I made a good decision. I ordered a poke bowl with lettuce instead of the white rice that comes with it.
My phrase for the year: CHANGE HAPPENS.5 -

Word of the Year: BELIEVE
I choose to Believe in me and not be afraid or make excuses.
So a little about me. I'm Shannon from Ontario, Canada. I am 39 years old, married and have 4 kids (14,9,7,4). The past couple years I have run my own business doing custom clothes for schools and sports teams although I am bored of it and want a change.....so I may be changing things up this year I have lost weight before but always seem to fall back into my old bad habits, especially emotional eating. When things get stressful, getting myself something in a drive thru always seemed to be a quick fix....I know not good. Anyways we are on another lockdown until the 28th here so I am at home with husband and all 4 kids for all of January. Not sure how to reduce stress during this time but luckily no going out shopping and stopping off for some fast food haha.
@Cstockton18 Sorry about your health. Hopefully you get some answers with your MRI today. Oh and I'm a mom of 4 kids also.....so I get it haha
@TeresaW1020 Ohh I have BOD also but not sure which program to do. Which one are you doing? Are you following one of the food plans also? I have all the stuff for the 2B and the containers and lots of unopened expired protein powder from last year *facepalm*
@trooworld omg I am doing the decluttering one of the house rooms today. It looks like I am boardering on a hoarders episode so tossing a ton today. This should be interesting and exhausting lol
@TwistedSassette Good for you! How did you like the workout? I am trying to figure out which type of workout I want to be doing. Also your mat looks both scary and comforting haha

Hey everyone! Welcome to our new peeps! My name is Jennifer and I am a mother to 3 adult children. My youngest daughter is attending online college and living at home. I have about 45 lbs I would like to lose. And I believe this is the year that it can happen! I've always been a yo-yo dieter and emotional eater. I am currently three and a half weeks post-op for a torn rotator cuff and bicep. It happens to be my dominant arm, which has made things very difficult. I'm working through it, though. The doctor had to remove some bone as well to help everything move smoothly in my shoulder. I'm looking at a total of 6 months recovery time. I haven't really been exercising because all I can do right now is walk, and it's nice and snowy and icy here in Southwest Michigan. I live right on Lake Michigan, so we get the lovey lake effect snow. Obviously, I'm afraid of slipping and falling on my shoulder. If that happened, I would be looking at a total shoulder replacement. I turn 47 years old this month, so I really don't want to live the next half of my life with metal in my shoulder. This means the majority of my weight loss is going to be a focus on whole foods. I've been vegan for almost nine years now, but have not stayed away from processed vegan replacement type foods. Thankfully, my daughter (who is also vegan) wants to do whole foods with me. That makes it a lot easier.
I've enjoyed reading everybody's lists and words for the new year. My phrase for the year is "with purpose". I will choose my foods with purpose and a focus on satiety.
We can do this!6 -
Hello fellow Mission Slimpossiblers. I previously put this in the wrong chat. I am 56 from Tennessee and I am hoping this is the time that I can really change my habits and weight. I will be doing the habit tracker but not the no sugar - i know myself - that would be setting myself up to fail quickly. May once I have some other things under control. Looking forward to the journey. My beginning focus will be water and sleep, logging everything and checking in here! Daily exercise and adding some strength training in there. Good luck to all.7
-
Welcome to all the new members. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.
I'm Jackie. I'm 57 and I live in Ontario, Canada with my Hubby of 30 years and our 23yr old son. Our 26 yr old daughter lives 6hrs away. Both kids are engaged now and their fiances are siblings. Depending on Covid we might have a double wedding this fall.
I've been part of this group for 2yrs. I'm down 35lbs from my heaviest weight. I'm currently tracking with WW while trying to keep carbs low and avoiding added sugar. I'm also a Fitbit fanatic and love the step and minute challenges.
My main goals for 2021 haven't changed much from last year
1. No sugar
2. Hydrate earlier in the day
3. At least 30 min of activity daily
4. Be consistant with strength training.
5. Get outside for some fresh air
6. Work on getting enough sleep
7. Get my house organized
8. Get back to posting on my blog regularly.
I usually try to accomplish all of my goals at once which starts off great but isn't sustainable so this year I'm going to work on one habit at a time until its cemented before adding in another.
Happy New Year and best of luck to everyone

@Cstockton18 Hi Charlene! I’m so happy you are a part of our team. You look so young in your profile picture. What is the age of your kids? I am so sorry to read about your chronic sciatica pain. I know back pain but not even close to the extent that you have been suffering with. I sure hope that the MRI and your doctor can help you find some relief. I do agree that getting fit and healthy can only help you.
@krea4 I am so happy to see you here with us for another month. Many people join every month and I find those that jump in and post often are the ones to stick around and usually have the best results. Good for you for having a great start to the no sugar challenge! I totally believe that we can go for a whole month and not give in to that terrible sugar monster. Keep telling yourself that it’s just for one month or even just for that day. We can do it!!
@GabiV125 Glad, you are back and focused and now that the holidays are over you can tackle that last 15 lbs and show us how to live in maintenance.
@trooworld Woot, you lost weight this week!! That has to feel good considering we just had New Year’s Eve. Did you get your walk in today?
@cdnlaxmom Hi Shannon, I am so glad that you have joined our group! Yikes, four kids, and all of you stuck at home again. But you have great January goals and a wonderful word for 2021. You have to actively believe that you can change your health and strive every day to make it happen. You might stumble along the way but make a vow to yourself to never give up and to start working towards your goals as soon as possible. I LOVE BOD and have done several programs. My favorites have been Barre Blend, 21 Day Fix, 80 Day Obsession, and LIIFT4. I just started #MBF last week and so far I’m really loving it! I can already see that I will be repeating this program for sure. I don’t follow their food programs or buy the products. I do intermittent fasting and eat as low carb as I can manage because I’ve had to finally accept that my body just hates lots of carbs. It also hates lots of cheese, which is seriously annoying!
@vegan4lyfe12012 I totally believe that this is going to be your year to get that 45 lbs off! I have the same amount to lose as well so we are going to encourage each other all the way to goal. Deal? Yes, you have to take it easy with that arm until you are fully healed. I once went to Weight Watchers with a woman who listened to podcasts and walked 5 miles a day inside her small house. So NO excuses!! I’m glad that you have your daughter helping you go more whole foods with your veganism. One of my very good friends lost 65 lbs last year by doing a whole food, raw vegan diet. She looks incredible! Yes to your phrase, “With Purpose.” That is perfect!!
@tslose Glad you found us over in the new chat thread. It can get confusing at the end of each month. I’m glad that you are doing the habit tracker! That is OK that you don’t do the sugar challenge if you feel it would be too restrictive but I also encourage everyone to only do what they feel they can do. Maybe instead of no sugar at all, you challenge yourself to more moderation?
@Jactop Great goals for 2021 and what a good idea to work on one habit at a time. Building on your habits is one of the best ways to make sure you stick to them.
Hi Team! I’m super annoyed right now because my brand new computer is having issues again. I will take it in on Monday and hopefully get it fixed. Right now I’m on the laptop which is fine and of course better than nothing. I had a great day other than my computer issues. I worked out this morning and then cleaned the house. Before my computer issues, I sat and worked on my January dinner menu. I put together a whole month that will hopefully keep me on track with my fasting and low carb eating. Three days a week my goal is to either fast the whole day or only eat a 500 calorie. I have that wedding in early February so my focus is on fitting into my outfit and looking as cute as possible.
January Goals: 1/2
No Sugar Challenge: I was sugar-free today!
Fast for 19+ hours: I fasted for 21 hrs. 40 min.
Ate on plan: I ate on plan. Keto chili and low-carb cornbread
Workout 30+ minutes: I did #MBF Full Body and a bunch of housework
Drink 96+ oz. of water: I will have close to a gallon by the end of the day.

I am LOVING reading everyone’s word for 2021 and seeing what goals and plans you have in store!
@cdnlaxmom Lol the acupressure mat does look scary! The points feel sharp when you touch them with your hands, but when you lie on it, it doesn’t hurt at all! In fact, I was a little scared of it so I made sure I had fabric between my skin and the mat but next time, I think I will try it on bare skin!
I am enjoying Fitness+ so far. I do a variety of exercises so it’s working well for me so far!

Hey everyone. Welcome to all of our new folks! So glad you have joined us. I am Denise, 57 yrs old, live in a small community in Arkansas with my wonderful hubby. My parents live with us. We have 2 grown sons. I am on staff at our church. I have struggled with my weight all my life. Excited to say that I am smaller today than I was the day I married my husband 30+ yrs ago. When I lose 4 more pounds I will be at my lowest weight in my adult life. All that said, I still lots of weight to lose. I am so thankful for this group and for the motivation and encouragement of everyone. I always have the best of plans to check in daily and comment on everyones posts. Unfortunately, I can't always make this happen. In December, I found it was actually stressing me because I could not comment and be encouraging to everyone every day. So, for January I will check in as I can, catch up as often as I can and give myself a break when I can't. I hope to be able to read everyones posts, I find them so inspirational. Lets all do all we can to be the best we can be this year. To be healthier, stronger, smarter and kinder. My prayer is 2021 will be an amazing year for each of you.

All chocolate eaten, so I'm going to stick to a sugar free January and not buy any chocolate this month. Fingers crossed I can resist buying reduced price chocolate.

@cdnlaxmom I love your goals for January, especially the "Take time for myself"...that is so important! Do you, by chance, do all of that custom clothing with a Cricut machine? I ask because I just got a Cricut Maker and I am in love with it! I hear you about looking like an episode of hoarders: that's how the room we worked on looked! LOL I hope you were able to make progress on your room. It feels really good to do that! And exhausting.
@TeresaW1020 Yes, it feels really good! As for the walk: sort of...I went grocery shopping at 3 different stores, does that count? LOL My goal is to walk 3x a week for at least 20 minutes. I have a plan to go today. That stinks that your new computer is already giving you trouble. I hope it is an easy fix.
@adhmrh It looks like you are off to a great start! I'm sorry that you were stressed about checking in daily, but don't stress, check in when you can!
Hello all. I'm off to a good start: I've pretracked my meals for today and did some chair yoga (I've been waking up with my back really stiff lately). I hope to go for a walk in a few hours once the sun warms things up a bit.
