Sunday we went out because today is my anniversary and my husband has to work all day so we wanted to celebrate yesterday.. we went to Italian and it was sooo good.. now I have a *kitten* ton of making up to do because I’m sure this weekend set me back a couple pounds!!! Well happy Monday MFP I’m home today because it’s a holiday I hope the rest of you are enjoying your Monday!
Don't worry too much, or be in too much of a hurry to "make up" for the weekend. Just go back to normal and it will settle down, I'm sure! It is so tempting to try to be better than perfect or to fast or to really cut back, but that can backfire. One day of less than usual can be nice, but beyond that might be a risk for rebellion!
@MandiSaysHey
Great loss this week!!
@DD265
Keep us posted on how your experiment goes. I think the devices vary so much in their "burn" calculations that it is hard to rely on it, but re-calculating everything all the time is a giant pain. Give it a try to just stay closer to your intake goal and see how it goes. Obviously if you get a ton of exercise you can be a bit more generous
Have a great Monday, or the rest of it for those east of here - we're gearing up for a big snowstorm and I have to get out and walk today. If I have one more totally lazy day I might go a bit nuts!4 -

It seems that I have stucked at this weight, but I m happy that I started to actively working on it again. I did around 11hours of indoor and outdoor workout during the past week and had a complete self control over food.
This week it snowed in the Netherlands some canals were frozen, and this is a photo taken yesterday during my walk
Really cool photo! Thanks for sharing that. Sometimes we do get stuck, unfortunately for a long time. Many of us here are right there beside you being stuck. Seems like you are doing good things. Perhaps try to change a little thing (macros, calories, fiber, water) and see if it gets you moving.2 -
STEPPERS: I need the following
@CurvyCalorie 2/10, 2/12
@evangsimmons170 all week
@YinxFed all week - I have something for you on 2/10, 2/11 but the latter looks like exercise steps Could you post them all for me to be sure? Thanks!
Hi everyone! Happy Monday. I never checked in yesterday. I guess with my family here all day and night seeking refuge from no power, there was no good time to log on. Happily, their power is back on now. Sending good vibes to those of you facing no power or crazy storms right now. My gripe is that I haven't seen the sun for days and it looks like we won't see if for quite a while still. I need one of those little headlamp thingys. Ugh, I can't wait for our 3 minutes of spring.
Yesterday, no logging, ate whatever (pizza) and probably drank more coffee than water. I never drink coffee except for my morning coffee, but daughter and SIL made pots throughout the day and I continued drinking it. Did throw one away when I realized that was all I had had. We got take out pizza because I hit a wall as far as cooking dinner. I had no plan and didn't want to make one. Didn't want to cook dinner. I haven't cooked so my dinners at home consecutively in my life! I had nothing in me to do it. I did, of course, bake a shaped cookie bar for everyone.
Did 10 minutes of Pilates this morning. I know that's not enough exercise, but I may be hard pressed to get more in. I should just put on a video and dance around in my room. Why is that so hard for me to do? Walking is probably not a great plan with trees down all around and workers all over getting rid of them. IDK
@jugar Glad to hear that mermaid sitting is no longer your only option. That's great. Glad to hear that you feel the surgery was a success. I am so happy for you. You have endured that pain in the rear for a long time. Hopefully, shortly you will be able to ride your sweet horse again. Go slow on that walk.
Hope everyone has a great day. I am going to go log my breakfast and shower. I know it's late. I have been updating steps.

Hi all,
Not feeling very enthusiastic these last couple weeks for exercise (not even walking) and eating/logging devolves as the day goes on. BUT I did just make an enormous pot of martha stewart's veg bean soup and that's a good sign4 -

Week 3 is often the toughest week of any month. We'll get through it together!
I had a wonderful time walking around outside today - did about 1.5 miles, just on our private road with no deep snow, and it was great. Walking feels good! I'll try some other exercises tomorrow - the nurses say I can do anything I want that does not hurt, so I'm going to do some Pilates tomorrow, and more walking. We're getting a pile of snow tonight
Yesterday I made a huge mistake, but it turned out OK in an unexpected way. I have been eating no flour products at all for the past month, and really sticking with whole foods and good stuff. But for the past few days I have been craving homemade cookies something terrible. Yesterday I caved and made a batch - to bring to my son, of course. It was fun making them, but then I ate one (it was big) and had such terrible stomach pain and heartburn for the next few hours that there is no way I will even consider trying another one! My son will actually get them this time I think that cured me for cookies for a while.
I hope everyone down in Texas and other places where you don't usually get this kind of cold and snow are doing OK!
Heads up for Tuesday:
@Kali225
@sarkrisd
and @CurvyCalorie whenever you can - no worries if it is later in the week.5 -

@micki48 yes you are right, I checked my macros I m consuming a high percentage of carb and low amount of water per day. I will work on this.4 -
We made Purin, also known as creme caramel, for Valentines Day. Its only 160 calories each and turned out pretty well. Turns out Swerve caramelizes as well as sugar.
it looks delicious! this is the first time I hear about Swerve, I don't like the taste of stevia, so I go entirely for sugarless foods. How is the taste of the Swerve compared to the real sugar?2 -

@jugar Thank you!
While I am pacing this AM I stepped on the scale at 154.0
I think with all the pain and two trips to the ER the least my body could do is drop to 150.0!! Hahaha
Cheers my friends2 -

Today I'm heading back on track.2 -
Tuesday Weigh-in
PW: 182.1
CW: 181.0
I will take it! On vacation now for a few days, and of course I had to ask my parents to bring some real bagels to me, and I received a big cookie and a box of Vday chocolate, but I have been logging whatever I have. Today I may indulge a little bit post-weigh-in, but the rest of the week I have plenty of exercise & activity planned, which is good.5 -

Sorry I disappeared last week. I’m having a hard time mentally getting past the fact that I can’t stop snacking at work, no matter what I do. I need to start counting everything again.4 -

So far Swerve (non-brand name: erythritol) is the only sweetener I can stand. I've tried almost all the others and they're gross. By itself, raw, it has a slight aftertaste but I don't even notice it mixed in with other things.
The caramel tasted exactly the same as if we'd used sugar. Which is good because creme caramel only has three ingredients and one of them is a bunch of sugar, which would make it pretty diet unfriendly normally. =P5 -
So glad you're doing better, @jugar!
I'm catching up on all of the news of the team. Such a good variety of check-ins and activities. I've been sleeping poorly and alternating days of reasonable eating with overdoing it to compensate. With any luck, I won't mess us up with my weigh in tomorrow. We'll see.
We're experiencing my least favorite type of weather - freezing fog and drizzle. Nasty stuff. It may look sweet on some of the plant life but man-o-man, it stinks on the roads! I know. It underlines the "stay-at-home" recommendation which sometimes makes me just want to be more of a slug. Today, however, there's a ton of laundry to do which will give me a lot of steps - lookout gang! I have to go from the 2nd floor to the basement for washing then drying. If I go after each wee batch, it makes for almost 7,000 steps. If my fitbit isn't fully charged, I'll rely on my phone to communicate the info later.
I reorganized the kitchen counter equipment yesterday evening and it looks so much better. Good thing I need to do laundry today - it gives my spouse a chance to cook dinner in advance (day off from cooking at the job)...otherwise, I'd be tempted to bake!
Have a lovely day, y'all.5 -

Aw, c'mon, @jugar. Let's use the whole pound loss for all of us who are a bit over this week. you know...a little consolation prize?1 -
Happy Tuesday! Late in the day, I know - I have been avoiding sitting at the screen today. I just got caught up on all your news, stats, and plans. If you're falling off - hop back on, ok? It is good to see you back @sarkrisd - you hardly put on any weight and you are here! Doing the thing! Counting gets to be a drag, but it does work awfully well...
I'm off to get my bandages changed, etc. shortly - I'll have to walk down our crazy hill to the car since it is too miserable out to have the car up here. Lots of snow and ice - but at least the roads will be fine. One thing that gets done really well in this crazy country is snow clearing!
I like the video recommendation, @micki48 -- anyone have more? Something to do when you don't feeel like it? And then after you do it you feel great?2 -
I'm glad you're recovering well @jugar.
We had our takeaway last night; at 9pm! It was an hour and a half late, so we ended up staying up late ourselves. I tracked it as best I could.
Had two lots of bad news today; my boss, and friend, has a new job. She'll be leaving in April. I'm sad about it and it's pushing thoughts I've been having about my own career to the front of my mind. We had a meeting today about some organisational changes (not redundancies) which I think are positive - or I'd think so if not for the change in line manager. Her replacement hasn't been named yet so I think I will wait it out and see how things go.
The second is my brother in law had a checkup. He's been in remission from cancer since the summer. The x-rays aren't normal. We don't know what the outcome is yet so another wait and see.
I've managed to stay pretty much within my calorie goal, and went for a couple of walks today so tried not to eat those calories. I can feel my stress levels rising and am hoping a good night's sleep will take care of that.5 -
Met all goals today. Steps 12250. Plus 3 hours shoveling snow. I think that doesn’t track my steps much because of holding the shovel maybe.4
-
@DD265
What a day - all kinds of stress and uncertainty. You are amazing to have kept on track and taking a couple of walks. It is true that a good night's sleep will help, as will drinking plenty of good old H2O. Keep taking care of yourself
@sunny9847
Three hours shoveling snow is a lot! You can bet you were burning up mountains of calories while moving mountains of snow. Extra steps will be added to your total!
