Thanks for the advice folks. I'm finally starting to drop weight. I added the weights back into my routine. It's not a lot, but it was apparently enough. I appreciate all the input.1

Sometimes I have to laugh at myself. I am so strongly goal oriented. I track my exercise miles on Garmin, and they provide a number of challenges that users can join. This month I joined a challenge to run 50 miles in the month of February. Normally this would be a small stretch goal for me, but nothing crazy. Except that I spent two weeks up north where I only ran once because of the ice and snow. When I got back I found myself staring at about 40 miles to go in 10 days. I don't normally run every day, and my normal short run is only 3 miles, so this wasn't a slam dunk. But I couldn't bear to fail, so I did several consecutive 6 milers. Right now I have 9 miles left with 3 days to go, so "all" I have to do is 3 more short runs, which I'm pretty sure I'll complete. I'm shaking my head at myself. Who cares if I don't complete some silly challenge on Garmin, and yet I couldn't let it go. Just goes to show again, it's all in our heads. Who else is stupidly driven to hit their goals - LOL?
By the way, I'm at 78/50 on my MYAC goal - which includes walking as well as running.4
