Sorry my intro is so tardy…better late than never, right? Welcome to the new members and Haaayyyy to my old buddies! My name is Jennifer and I am a single mom of 3 adult children – son, Marcus, is 25 and in the Navy (currently on a Double Pump Deployment), oldest daughter, Sydney, is 24 and lives with her husband, Nick, about an hour south of me, and my youngest daughter, Hunter, is 21 and is still at home with me (college). I work in Community Development for my county in Southwest Michigan (been there over 16 years now) and working 4 ½ days per week remotely, I love to rubber stamp (I’m a Stampin’ Up demo) and make cards. I'm an active member of my church (Board member), and also love horror movies (currently watching all the Saw movies in preparation of Spiral coming out) and books. I've been vegan for over 9 years, but fell into the usual junk food/fast food/convenience food trap and need to lose about 45 pounds. I had lost 60 pounds several years ago, but, like most people, most of it reattached itself to me like a sea lamprey. I started on WW (green plan) just over a month ago. I fell off the wagon in the middle of it for about 10, but I’m back on it again with a solid grip. I’m down 6.4 pounds since I started WW. Not as much as I’d like, but I recognize that’s my fault.
Update: I have had such a spastic, busy week. I kept wanting to get on here and chat with you all, but time really gets past me. I am feeling so much better (mentally) now than I was a couple weeks ago. I’ve been focused on healthy food choices, been off soda for 2 weeks now, and getting outside in the sunshine for some brisk walks. It has all done wonders for my mental health. My mother told me about a week ago that she wants to go back to WFPB (whole foods plant based) vegan. She has about 75 pounds to lose. She said this in front of Hunter, so now Hunter said she wants to get rid of vegan junk foods, too. It makes it so much easier when everyone is on board with the same eating plan.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and celebrate all the women in your lives on Sunday, whether they are human moms, fur-baby moms, aunts, sisters, cousins… ALL of them! We will be headed to the theater after church for some popcorn and a fun movie

@TwistedSassette I didn’t think I could drink coffee with butter either but it is truly delicious. I use a frother and blend it up until it’s all foamy and it’s just so very tasty!
Yayyy to using balance to enjoy yourself and still see the scale go down. That is exactly the mentality that will get you to where you want to be.
@askewcr I say if you are going to splurge on a cinnamon roll it better be good!Good job getting a walk in to burn off some of the calories.

@trooworld Woot!! What a great loss you had this week! You just keep your eye on ONEderland and you will get there! How many cinder blocks do you need to lose to get to your goal and what will you build with them?
@gwamajtw91 That is a great weigh-in this week. What sort of eating plan does Erin Oprea have you on? What will you do when the six weeks are up? I bet you anything that your shape has changed even if the scale hasn’t moved as much. Building lean muscle really should be our ultimate goal and then the weight loss will follow.
@vegan4lyfe2012 I agree that it really helps to have the people around you on the same health journey. I hope your mom and daughter can help motivate you as you motivate them. Going to the movies sounds like a fun idea!
Hi Team! Well, I was super happy to lose a pound this week and I plan to stay focused and get into the 170s by next Friday!I did have a bit of a splurge today when my hubby took us all out for steak dinners for Mother’s Day. We didn’t want to have to deal with the crowds this weekend, so we went today. I made some good choices and had the mushrooms over the sweet potato, but I did have a beer. Tomorrow I plan to do another day of the high protein, low calorie and see if things balance out.
50 Day Commitment: Day 7
1) Track Food and hit my macros (carbs under 30 grams total): Tracked it all and had 47 carbs due to that yummy beer that I had with my steak dinner.
2) No snacking and no unplanned sugar indulgences: No sugar or snacks
3) Workout 6 days a week (Including the Butt & Burpee Challenge): lots of church cleaning
4) Fasting Hours (Goal is to 19+): 19 hrs. 36 min.

Today has been a good day! I am working on a project and was able to get a good vision for where it's going. Hubby and i went to Sam's and that was a good walk. We also went to Olive Garden and I didn't eat as many breadsticks as I normally wood. (Victory) I didn't go too crazy with my meal. Got a nice walk in too. Blessings to you all!3

@GabiV125 You made me laugh about acupuncture, i tend to think like you too. I waa telling the woman who work at this clinic how I'd graduated with an emphasis is research psych and wss applying to grad schools in health psychology when i was injured and was sure some of the things i was first trying couldn't work unless i was gullible enough to fall for them. The one thing i experienced that shocked me the most was an energy healer said i had a cyst on my ovary she was breaking up, i came home and was spotting and shouldn't have been. I had some relief with foot reflexology too.

@askewcr Sam's Club and Costco are serious workouts! I'm not going alone after 10 AM, i think because of Mother's Day it was extra bad.
Sorry for not replying to everyone and thank you for all the encouragement! I've had a lot of people question why i still work out but i know from my own and other's experiences i wouldn't be walking now otherwise. Went to Costco to pick up my new glasses and get a few things, i went alone and between the crowds and being in pain plus i strained my elbow i got really anxious and had to use a lot of relaxation techniques. When i was younger before my first surgery my legs would give out without warning so i started getting anxious in public because i couldn't trust my body. SO, I've had to work through it and I'm a lot better than i used to be. I go back to the clinic Monday, i won a discount in tbe drawing which is cool!3 -

Lost the weight this week I gained the week before. Now to focus this week on continuing to lose instead of the yo-yo effect and the plateau I've been stuck at for a couple of months in the 260 range. Need to push a little bit further to get to 100 pounds lost since my heaviest last Sept 1st. Cold in Indiana for Mother's day weekend but we'll be having fun nonetheless. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

@askewcr What a fantastic week you had!! You just have to stay consistent and hold to the commitment to yourself to keep doing what works for you and you will keep seeing the scale go down.

Hi Team! I was happy that the scale was down a little bit this morning even though I had that steak dinner with the beer. Today, I’m doing another high protein day and keeping my calories low. Tomorrow, I’m making individual Keto cheesecakes for Mother’s Day and I’m certainly looking forward to that! I’m teaching the kids tomorrow in children’s church and we are going to make the moms cute little cards that will look very much like this picture. They will love it and hopefully, their moms will too!

Not much new to report, mostly did gardening things and spent some time reading. I finally put the last cat on the leash and he was so terrified I'll never do it again. It took him 6 months to warm up to me and ever since I tried he's staying a few feet away, he hated it!3 -

Today has been a great day. We celebrated my mother-in-law and my step mom. My mom passed away in 2012 and I sure do miss her. Lots of food today but I exercised restraint. The worse thing I had was lemonade because of the sugar but I'm still proud of myself. Tomorrow is another day.2

NSV: My brain suggested a number of times that I might want to eat off plan today. I chose no, and then celebrated that decision. I am working to tweak some of my habits, and was reminding myself about the power of celebration to make habits stick.3 -
Hi all, quick check-in from me. Had a wonderful weekend at the local show, then the local horse races, then of course Mother’s Day on Sunday! Here’s a couple of pics of my toddler enjoying the show (fair):He played some sideshows and won some prizes, rode on a mini carousel, got a fireman showbag, won a first prize for his entry in the pavilion, and enjoyed his first fireworks show, exclaiming “surprise!” when it started lol.
Unfortunately, on Friday the toddler came down with a cold (I think it had been developing for a while as he’s been out of sorts). On Saturday evening, I got the worst sore throat I think I’ve ever had. Sunday it turned into a full head cold and now (Monday) it’s started going to my chest. It’s a really nasty cold! I’m going for a covid test tomorrow to be sure, but I don’t have a fever so I’m almost certain it will come back negative but better safe than sorry. I will be off work probably for the whole week as I’m not allowed to site with any cold/flu symptoms according to their pandemic plan, and since my laptop died a couple of months ago and I’m still waiting for my new one to arrive, I can’t work from home. Not that I really feel up to working much anyway, but I do feel guilty about it.
Anyway, enough of my pity party. I have been reading all your posts here but just haven’t felt like typing out much. I hope all the mums had a great Mother’s Day!2 -

Hello everyone, spring weather is my favorite of all season and I spend lots of time outside in the garden and walking, which is not bad at all I guess as it is a distraction from my phone.
@TeresaW1020, @TwistedSassette, @trooworld the ducklings and chicks are adding to the time outside as we set up their space. We had them inside the house for maybe 10 days then we moved them to the garage, at the beginning of last week we started the transitioning period of having them outside in a fenced area for them for a couple of hours then inside, unfortunately the hawks are not leaving our backyard this year and claimed the lives of the four chickens ☹. So, we changed plans this past weekend and build a mini coop for the ducks in the garage. The girls begged and argued that we have a “safe” place now to have more. I know I spoil my girls a lot, but I just can’t say no. We went today at lunch time and got 4 new chicks.
As for the weight, it is steady again this week. I am doing the IF but I guess I am eating more in my window for eating than I used to when I started 4 weeks ago. I like the number on the scale when I am fasting it shows 200 and twenties LOL

I took my niece to get all 4 wisdom teeth out this morning. What an experience. She was so funny coming out of anesthesia. After that I went for a walk and then tutored my student virtually. Now time for some relaxation. This past weekend was nice as we celebrated my step mom and my mother in law. Eating is a little off today but we are going to be fine.1

@RYcare Ohhh your poor chickens! I wouldn’t be able to say no to baby chicks or begging girls!Doing IF can take time for your body to adjust and for you to not overeat in your window. You might also find that certain foods aren’t good for your body. I had to do that with carbs even though I was doing 20+ IF hours a day.
@askewcr Ohhh my goodness your poor niece! You should have video-taped her for AFV. Some of those people on anesthesia are the funniest!
Hi Team! Not much going on today. I did a double workout this morning and did my high protein today. I also went to Aldi and got all the meat and dairy we will need and tomorrow I will run to Walmart for the rest of the groceries. I’ve been collecting a lot of new recipes from the Keto cookbooks that I got from the library, so I’m excited to add some new things to the rotation. I just hope the family likes them.

1) Track Food and hit my macros (carbs under 30 grams total): Tracked it all! Calories 943, carbs 12, protein 108, and fat 48.6. Everything was a little higher than it should be except for the protein. That was spot on!

Hoping all the Slimpossible moms had a lovely Mother’s Day.
I actually weighed myself yesterday. Things have definitely gotten ahead of me but I’ll get it back under control. Thinking about changing my weigh in day to wed or Thursday due to my regular routine during the weeks and not so regular routine on the weekends. Got my second shot on Friday night and had some early crisis calls to handle so I’ve been exhausted and emotionally eating..
On a brighter note I had my one year review at work today and it went well.
Here’s to hoping I’m safe for a bit and praying we can make it past covid soon!1 -
