HOW IT ALL WORKS:
Every challenger weighs in on their chosen day, every week without fail! At the end of each week, the tallies are done to determine the team and individuals with the most weight lost. The best losers are announced with full fanfare every Sunday. The team competition is all in good spirits - may the most losing win!
We also track those small, steady losses with the Green Week count. If you lose, however small an amount, it counts for 1 week in the green. At the end of the month, we celebrate everyone who lost every week. You are heading steadily towards your goal even if you aren't at the top of the weight loss leaderboard!
To make your weigh-in easy to find for your team Captains, please put it right at the top of a message, and use this format:
Username
Weigh In Day:
PW (Previous Weight):
CW (Current Weight):
If you miss two weigh-ins in a row without asking for a break, you will be dropped from the team, so be sure to inform your team captain if you are traveling, sick, or just need some time off. If you take a break, you are moved to the Support Team. You can remain on the Support Team for as long as you need to. You still participate in the discussions, you can weigh in if you want to, but it will not count in the weekly tally.
Once you reach your goal weight, you join the Goal Zone! You continue to weigh in every week. If you have 2 weeks above your self-defined goal zone, you go back to the regular team to lose that amount before it builds up. You will have a chance to hone those maintenance skills and stick with your team!
In addition to your own team, there are weekly F2F Full Group CHALLENGES. You can do all or none - it's up to you. Participating adds a lot to your success, so we hope to see you there often! These can involve anything fitness, health, or nutrition - and they’ll get you moving, thinking, and learning about this journey. Check the Announcements section for full group challenges.
Let’s show our fellow challengers some F2F love! Introduce yourselves right away, and let the new month begin!!

Good morning Fat2Fit team members!
Here is the new habit tracker for this month. Just click the link and follow the instructions. SEPTEMBER HABIT TRACKER3 -
Happy Saturday Everyone.
One of my goals this week is to find time to post!
As I mentioned in a previous post last week, we recently got a puppy (now 12 weeks old) AND I started back to school (I am an elementary music teacher).
Historically life transitions - such as these - have lead me to a lapse in good habits and often times quitting my healthy journey. So I am trying to stay focused on continuing...moving forward...finding solutions to my slip ups instead of using them as justification to quit.
I am dialing my habit goals back to the basics: Sleep (which can be a challenge with my new pup), water 80+ ounces, staying within my caloric goal, and 8000 steps a day. I've been so exhausted this week that focusing on the basics seems to be the wisest course for now.
I wish you all a healthy and happy week.

Almost September, wow!!! I have been through this merry go round way to often though it does mean I know what I need to do to reach my goal. I am going to have to be selfish again, needs must!
Father of two 20-somethings who are both back at home for the time being as well as food provider for two hairy woofs!
Busy doesn't seem to sum it up!

Considering yesterday was my birthday and I might have had a treat or two this loss is good Plan for this week is to continue getting exercise back on track. I need to bring ALL of the pieces of this weight loss puzzle together at the same time. If I say that to myself enough times hopefully it will manifest!3 -

Hi everyone!
I’m probably the only one, but I’m super excited for September to be here. The heat wave made me despise summer, plus September means my maternity leave starts in a few weeks and I’m that much closer to delivery and meeting our baby.
I’m 29, live in Finland with my husband, and I’m currently in my 8th month of pregnancy expecting our first child, due in late October. I have 3 more weeks of work before maternity leave begins, but I’m on part-time sick leave until then.
My September goals are:
- get everything in order so I can start maternity leave without worrying about work
- reduce sugar intake (I’ve been hitting the chocolate candy pretty hard lately)
- Increase fruit, veggie and berry intake
- try to get a little bit more fresh air and exercise regularly
I’m fed up with being so sore, out of shape and struggling with basic everyday routines, so I’m already excited to be cleared for exercise postpartum so I can rejoin the team, start working on this baby weight and lose some of this pre-baby weight as well. I’m going to be on maternity leave for about a year, so I’m excited to spend that time focusing on both the baby and myself.3 -

Quick About Me:
I am 41 and I live in south central Pennsylvania (5 minutes from the Maryland line) with my husband, 12 year old step-son, our 3 cats, and 2 dogs. I teach elementary music and I am the President of my county’s education association; both of which keep me quite busy this time of year.
Like someone mentioned earlier…I am very excited for the arrival of fall (autumn)…because it is my FAVORITE season by far. However, in my area it will likely be pretty hot for another month.
Weight-wise, I have been overweight/obese my whole life. I have made many attempts at weight loss over the years.
Twice I managed to lose 50lbs, once in my early 20s and again in 2016/2017.
In 2018 I met my husband and slowly gained my weight back again.
Then in 2020 gained an extra 19 pounds on top of that during COVID hitting my all time high a year ago.
I seem to have an unfortunate pattern of letting life transitions distract me and ultimately lead me away from my healthy lifestyle choices. It is never intentional, just a 1000 “little quits” that lead to weight regain and abandonment of my healthy habits….then eventually a “f*$k it” mentality ensues.
This time I am determined to break that cycle. And I can see progress in that area because I have had many set backs over the past year, but I haven’t quit!!! Weight loss happens much slower and is trickier after 40 (so any of young adults out there reading this…do.it. now.)
I am currently down about 47 pounds.
Be well everyone, and lets all make healthy choices today.

Hi everyone...
Missed my weigh-in yesterday. Getting kids ready for school.

I'm doing really well. Stressful week. Stress ate. Had to take a break from working out due to a flair-up but got the ok to do low impact. I'm smiling in spite of the small gain. Still pushing and not giving up. Went on the Fitness Blender website and workout calendar ready to go. Will be going back to journaling after this post. This group really makes me not want to give up on myself.
Oh and I am so glad fall is almost here! Love walking and seeing the changes in color and cooler weather.
Have a good rest of the day!6 -

Hello Team! My name is Patrice and I’ve been a part of the ShrinkingAssets team since June 2021. I started using MFP in December 2019 and started really building the habit of tracking my calories and exercise in March 2020. I started with an overweight Body Mass Index (BMI) at 168 pounds and now I’m within the ‘normal’ range. My goal is to weigh 125 pounds. I’m 5’4 tall so that will put me in the middle of the BMI range and then I hope to maintain my weight at 125-130 while working to add muscle.
I joined the Fat2Fit group because I felt a bit stalled at 135 pounds. I’m fine with the slow rate of loss now that I’m so close to my goal weight; but, feeling accountable to the other group members helps keep me challenged and on track. I appreciate the insights, support, and encouragement of our team!
Here are my current stats as we start September:

Great job and great loss!3 -
Wow F2F lost 251.3 lbs this month! And Shrinking Assets was in 2nd place for the month! Way to go everyone!
I wanted to introduce myself as I don’t think I did the last couple of months. I am 53 and 5’6”. I live in Pennsylvania. I have a boy and a girl in their early 20’s. I’ve been a single mom for 16 years.
I lost 50 lbs in a year in 2017-2018 and was active on MFP. I had financial problems and had to sell my house so I got off track. I ended up gaining back 70 lbs. and started over in January of this year. I’ve lost 38 lbs so far and have a long way to go, but I’m up for the challenge!

Hi! I’m 45 and have tried every diet out there, been successful…briefly…then crashed because they are unsustainable. Even tried dietitians but I hated the highly restrictive calories (e.g. 1350 firm and I felt AWFUL if I exceeded it). My weight has never been below 168 and it’s always bounced back up to 180-185…but after being home during this pandemic I’m at my highest weight EVER…I was 9mos pregnant with my 9lb10oz baby and I was right at 191, much like now.
However, I’m doing something different this time. I JUST tracked my calories last week. Forget macros. I just needed to know what I’m eating. And I discovered that over 4 days, I naturally stopped eating at between 2103 and 2105 calories. I’m shocked at how consistent my body has been in craving exactly that amount across the day. Now I’m going to cut a couple hundred of of that each day while also doing the following, and I’ve been pretty good about this for the week:
-No snacks between breakfast and lunch
-1 salad per day, preferably for lunch
-work out at least 30min per day
I love the accountability sheet, and I love reading everyone’s experiences. Clearly slow and steady wins the race, and I just have to keep myself from beating me up as I patiently track and very slowly back off of the calories.
I look forward to seeing others sharing their successes!8 -

Hi fellow shrinkers! This will be my second month participating in the challenge. It's so helpful to be in a group like this where I can be accountable. Last week I was struggling a bit and wrote a blog post about it. Here's the link if you think it might be helpful. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/coblujay/view?id=the-weight-loss-grumps-a-twelve-week-update-995464 After figuring out what was going on, I'm back on track and ready for this next round. Even with the frustration I experienced, I'm planning to make this the last time I have to focus on losing weight...maintaining will be its own struggle when the time comes, but I plan to get there.

Yesterday was swimming and a good walk with my dogs, which added about 700 calories to my bank. I don't usually eat back all the exercise calories, but love having the extra cushion. I also focused on drinking my water and eating early. Hoping for another good month.4
