I would like to join the step challenge for October. Since I am working from home, I would like to set my goal at 7000 steps. I prefer to hike on trails at any time of year, but usually I walk around the neighbourhood on my lunch hour.

Steps for Oct 2 is 6,454

So I've been traveling again. Just got to a new place and no scales around here either! There's a few pharmacies about I'll have a look if they have one 🙈 apart from that from being so tired while travels/packing/unpacking/squeezing work in between I just ate whatever. Still logged everything, I was pretty much on the maintenance calories (if the online BMR calculations can be trusted - honestly when I do my own week-on-week calculation it appears my BMR should be 1200 but other calculations say 1600. Previous low thyroid/slow metabolism issues)
Anywho! I will weigh in one way or another this week 😁 and would love to sign back up for the step challenge
    I aim 10k steps a day
I'll walk anywhere lol, moving in 4 days so whenever the next place wonders bring

    Have a great week everyone!

Jessica, I think I said already, but my goal for October is 8,000 steps per day. I don't have a favorite place to walk, really. There are some nice woods near my house, but I think the walk I like most is whichever one I haven't done in a while. I like variety! I meant to tell you I live In Chapel Hill, North Carolina so we're in the middle of the state, but we love the beaches and mountains here, too. It's easy to be outside a lot of the year. The summer is the worst here for me because I don't do well in the heat and humidity. I am really glad it's Fall.

I just joined the team a few days ago, but it's already helped me tremendously. This weekend my husband spontaneously invited a colleague over for dinner and games on our porch. I had been planning for us to eat random leftovers so we decided to ordered out instead. In the past that would have been an excuse for me to just eat whatever, and "start on Monday" but I knew I was weighing in on Monday so couldn't do that, especially after just joining the team. So I made the best choices I could, enjoyed 1 beer, and tried not to be upset about it.

Also, yesterday I had quite a lazy day and at 4pm I was shocked to see I had only walked 1,500 steps I knew I had to get moving. Being part of this challenge really motivated me to get up and go for a nice long walk. Otherwise, I probably would have moved a lot less. I love the accountability!

    • Exercise: gym
    • Knee push-ups: yes, 3x10
    • Net calories: 670
    • Protein: 49
    • Steps: 11.101 / 8.500
    Ramblings of the day
Good morning team. I had an okay day, though I was exhausted most of the time. My shoulder was almost painfree at the gym, so I did all my exercises normally again. Got the knee push-ups done and a decent amount of steps. I burned a bit more than I expected, hence the (too) low net cals. Protein wasn't enough either. Today will be better. This week is going to really busy and I am not looking forward to it.

Hi @jessicakrall8 I've just realised I had forgotten to join this month's step challenge. Please put me down for 15,000 I don't tend to walk enough in the autumn as it's usually wet & miserable.I enjoy my local park & just walking around my neighbourhood.
I am struggling to eat less calories as I've got used to eating more !
Need to clear out the kitchen cupboards of sugary snacks or just need some will power to resist.Had a good morning & went to the gym.I had to work on my legs & cardio as need to be careful moving my arm.I got quite a sweat on,it was a good feeling to get moving again.Just going to walk into town to shop for some groceries.

Week 1 didn't have any focus because I didn't know about the challenge.

    Week 2
I'll be focusing on calorie intake. After my follow-up with the dietician my goal is 1500-1700 calories per day. Protein is my issue. I'm supposed to eat 70-90g a day. That's easier said than done but I'm determined!

Colleague smoked me some pork and shredded it!! Very low in fat and quick to reheat in the evenings on piano nights...tonight it was delicious...froze half of it for another time, but I have enough for several meals over the next week or so...

Had a very busy day with a very annoying boss...so glad to be home...just finished my steps for the day...always good to wind down with a walk...clears my head...only one lesson tonight, so didn't take long...whew...I'm gonna go lie down and finish my book.

Anyone else on this team a bookworm, like I am?!!! What's everyone currently reading? Love cozy mysteries, but currently I'm reading about a woman who loses her husband suddenly and how she works on building up the relationship between herself and her two daughters...really good read. The Widow's Waltz...

    Nite all...have a great Wednesday...

    Ramblings of the day
Good morning team. Tuesday is my rest day, though I wasn't that lazy. I got groceries in the morning, and I spent around 2 hours total working in the garden. I am getting new plants delivered on Thursday. I moved to this house in March and I got new plants in the spring, but now that summer is over, there are a few things I want to add/change. My dad is coming over Friday to help. I don't have a car, so I can't buy soil and tree bark by myself. I don't want him to do everyhing either, so I am trying to do some prep work already. I had a good food day and nice steps.

I love reading! I generally read several books a week. They are expensive though, so I also reread a lot. My main genre is fantasy. Currently rereading Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce.
