We leave Thursday to spend Christmas in North Carolina with my parents. I’m looking forward to the cooler weather, we’re still running the air conditioner here in Florida.6 -

I am definitely feeling the December doldrums. I am struggling to get on my mat every morning. It's kind of funny. I will do everything but. However, I know I feel better after I am done, so I have been making myself and you know what...it feels better. Why is it so hard to do the things that we know are good for self care?
I had a good scream session before I began my Pilates. I know. Not for everyone, but it felt good to let off some non-directed steam. Just so tired of this pandemic seemingly never ending. OHHHHHHHmacron! Just be the end of it. Although, I am not kidding myself. No one in my house will feel relieved until I can get my granddaughter immunized so she has protection too. Plus, darkness and December. But, it was just a moment and I know my life is good. So many awful things going on in peoples' lives. I appreciate how lucky I am, but feel the weight of all that so many people in this world are going through. So, after I screamed a bit, I practiced gratitude naming all the things I am grateful for. It sure helps change the mindset. I am a fortunate person. I have a home, food, health, love. What more can someone ask for? We can often find ourselves wrapped up in all we have to do and things we think we need and I totally understand that. But, if you need this reminder, remember to take a moment today and scream (if you need to) and then be grateful for all that is good in your life.
I am grateful for all of you even if I have been a little MIA. Just getting things done. Not being perfect, but doing the best I can for December.
Have a wonderful day my friends. I am wishing you all the best!!8 -

The stress, hormones, and trying to get all the work done before holidays is catching up to me.6 -
Dilemma. My weigh in is tomorrow morning, but I’ll also do a 25 mile bike ride first thing.
Do I eat to lose weight or to have energy?
Rhetorical question. 🙄😂2 -

Wow! I missed a whole day there - I had a better time than I thought I would going to the big city and spending the night before seeing my daughter and her boyfriend off to the airport very early this morning. Then I went back to bed, and had a chance to play a bit of music with a friend before driving home. The snow we are now getting was polite enough to wait for me to get home. Hoping for a good 15 cm (6 inches) tonight
OK. Now that they are gone, the eating of all the things and the partying take a week completely OFF. As of tomorrow, I shall behave. I'm looking forward to feeling back to normal!
Just a few more weigh-ins to submit before tallies (in about 12 hours) -

😁 I knew I was on track for a little loss! I’m already working on next years challenge since I completely ignored this year.4 -
12/17 exercise:
6638 steps + 30 minutes Peloton + 10 minutes strength
12/18 exercise:
10368 steps + 40 minutes Peloton
The weather has been bitterly cold to the point it's not safe to take my dog out and therefore depending on circumstances I've been finding it easier not to take myself out. As I don't have a treadmill I was missing getting my steps but got some good suggestions to try walking in place during TV shows so I'll be using that technique.
Yesterday we had one day of relief from the cold so I took advantage and got much more steps than usual lately. Also did my FTP test on the Peloton and my average output improved quite a bit which tells me my training has been working! Love that.
Lots of prep for Christmas going on here. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!2 -

Our December Week Two Results are in! Click on the link below to check them out!
Here's a sneak peek of how your team did...

The overall results show this was clearly not the most weight-loss focused week for most people, so an extra congrats to @MandiSaysHey @graceojo999 and especially to @happimess01 for hitting the leaderboard two weeks in a row!
Realize a leaderboard loss isn't the only measure of success and for a lot of folks December can be about maintaining or minimizing gain.
Whatever your goals, however you're doing - know that you'll all be on my mind as we get through these next couple weeks!6 -

Greetings team!
As Ashley said, we did not have the greatest losing week as a team, but there were a few intrepid, committed members who kept the green thread going. Well done!
I had a lovely day with lovely new snow to tramp through - not quite enough for the snowshoes yet, but getting there. One more day like this one, and I'll be off galumphing.
@deniners2 Can't wait to hear more about your next year challenge! If this week's loss is any indication, you're off to a flying start.
Feel better soon @YinxFed !!4 -
@YinxFed Hope you feel better soon.
@jugar Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your family. Great workout week for you though.
@ashleycarole86 You cold makes me feel cold. We’ve had scary warm days (I love them but know they are not good for our planet). Now our temperatures are dropping fast. Supposed to get to 27°F tonight after being low 70s yesterday.
I have had so many goodies in my house it’s crazy. Our sweet friends sent a beautiful box of cookies some are their own developed cookie recipes. My neighbor brought some ooey. Gooey bars. Plus all the cookies I made. Sugar yesterday. Pizzelles today. Believe it or not, I’m kind of sick of them. I’m not eating tons, but still having a couple a day. I’ll be glad when they are gone. And not because I ate them.
Lots of holiday prep here and caution with all the bad news about the pandemic. Scientists are saying the next month and a half is going to be the worse. This makes me so sad.
Here are my weak stats this week:
Monday-Wednesday 15 minutes Pilates
Friday 10 minutes Pilates

thank you so much @ashleycarole86. Soon it will be my turn to congratulate you on getting into the 180s!
I am still eating at a 500 calorie deficit losing 5ish pounds a month. Hope to reach 160 pounds(15% bf) by March and then increase my intake to a 200 cal deficit. Since I take my weight in kgs, it can be demoralizing to see a .5 drop in the numbers but on the plus side, I am putting on muscle! It is an amazing feeling noticing your stomach shrink one day and then waking up the next day to see that your forearms look bigger.
I did myself a giant favor last week and got a new weighing scale. This one was just 15 bucks more but is a 100 times better. The last one gave me a different reading every time I stepped on it (which was a bit stressful) but this one doesn't budge — one and done! I get the same reading every time and I also like all the extra data the app sends to my phone.

Happy Solstice-almost-Christmas week!
It was great to catch up on the 100+ posts. I spent several days in Winooski, VT visiting my older daughter, baking coffee rings, gingerbread cookies, and watching the British Baking show and Marvel movies. We were both well intentioned couch potatoes.
It occurred to me that asking for help (although usually dreaded) can have amazing results. Em had a large sectional couch taking up a third of her living-room. I thought of a local friend, asked for his help, and the following day, it was moved out of the condo and out to the portico awaiting collection from the used store which benefits habitat for humanity. She wisely put a card with her name and phone number on the couch and 30-minutes later, a neighbor called to ask if it was for the taking. Voilà!
We’ll count that as a win, for sure!
One of my households’ favorite treats is homemade Hobnobs with chocolate. Crispy oat cookies. Yum! I brought home most of the batch I baked at Em’s house and planned to do the chocolate topping this morning, however, Monica really wanted some last night so, I complied. I microwaved the baking chocolate with 2 tablespoons of the butter from the butter dish on the counter. I knew it was salted Irish butter and could add some nice flavor. What I *didn't* know was my OH accidentally dropped a few pieces of chopped onion into it while cooking dinner. I blamed the taste of onion on the compost until M asked if the cookies were supposed to taste of onion? Bwahahahaaa! I guess eating until this morning would’ve been better after all!
I love the reading time for the week and appreciate what’s been presented so far. Now that I’m home, I’ll try to get back on track.
Have a lovely Monday!

@jugar sorry about the late post. I forgot to weigh myself then eat something at work yesterday.

I wasn’t very good this week but still lost weight which is probably because it’s early on in my journey. I will stick to my calorie limit as much as possible this week and do some walking as well

Steps for last week:
Sunday 12/12: 3,000 (this is an estimate, my pedometer was acting up)
Monday 12/13: 11,952

I had a mostly lazy weekend and my birthday cheat day turned into a 4 day long off track streak. But hopefully I'll be back on track most of this week and the scale won't be too bad when I weigh in on Wednesday.2 -
