Very pleased with that. I hope I can keep it going because I know what happens when I fall off. I think I drive the wagon but when I lose my licence (due to reckless eating) it takes me forever to get it back. So must stay in the driving seat. Also must keep moving and not stay static, another thing I seem particularly good at.
Have a lovely weekend8 -

Really frustrated 😞 I was within my calorie budget by 50 calorie daily this week. I was really hopeful that I would start loosing. I have been making some changes like more protein and fiber and maybe it's an adjustment period. I even flipped my scale over to make sure no dust bunnies were under it and I changed the batteries. Desperate times call for desperate measures 😅 That didn't help. My husband says I look like I'm slimming down. I also feel pretty good. My new prebiotic arrived yesterday so I am trying it out starting today. They said it can take 1-2 weeks for your body to adjust. Who knows what that means!!!
I love everyone's take on the "On the wagon/off the wagon " topic. I think of my self as the driver but sometimes the wagon breaks down, gets pulled over or maybe I just got some bad directions 🤔5 -
1/20 exercise: 11,780 steps + 60 minutes Orangetheory (treadmill - 15 minutes. Row, weightlift, stretch - 45 minutes. Fitbit gave me 3776 steps for it).
My weight has been hovering within .02 lbs of my last week's weight and I'm trying not to get discouraged. I need to keep reminding mysf that this is the first "normal week" since before Christmas and that my body will respond to the exercise and full time work in unpredictable ways6 -

Taking a break but still can’t get to all the posts. I’ll try later. Pilates stretching to start the day felt so good. We’ve stArted packing. 😳 Hubby has been a dynamo all day! Impressive! Got 7 wardrobe boxes on a Facebook sales site today. The man was nice enough to drop them at our house because they wouldn’t fit in our Jetta.
I’m already over 8k for steps today. Yay! Benefits to packing. I’ll come back to answer the cart question in a bit but I love the answers so far. And Ashley, from here you are DRIVING that cart girl.7 -
Happy Fri-YAY friends! Oh the feelings of euphoria I have this time of the week... nothing better than the promise of a weekend ahead
@micki48 Thank you for the kind words. Brad and I spent a lot of time on our lunch time walk today talking about how the mind takes a while to catch up to the body. I am in the smallest size body I've been in for YEARS, probably 1.5 decades or so, and I don't know that I realize it yet. It's an odd feeling. I don't feel bad or anything, but all the old thought patterns of how I felt when I weighed more are still there. I think that takes a longer time to change than the physical self.

@gak71 You seriously have the best trips. Alaska last year, and heli-hiking this year. I knew of heli-skiing but I actually didn't know that heli-hiking exists. Looking forward to hearing all about it... it sounds like something I would absolutely LOVE!4

Biggest rest day I've had in a while today so we are fresh for tomorrow's PeloFondo where I'll try to ride 100 KM in one day and Brad will do 160 KM.
I'm on call for work so I'm planning on doing my first 1.75 hrs in the early morning before I start those duties... by then it'll be Brad's turn on the bike and his goal is to do his full 160 KM in one go. While he starts I'll be preparing the snack table to fuel him through the ride Then I'll hop on to finish up.
We happen to have dinner reservations for tomorrow morning at a well rated Italian restaurant in downtown Calgary we've never tried... I made the reservations months in advance as it's hard to get into but I'm sure the carbs will please us both tomorrow night
Wish us luck!7 -

Another beautiful day!
I hope you all have been enjoying it. I'm having fun shopping for snowshoes for my taller half - he has always been a cross-country ski person, but now that he is older and his 2 knee replacements are not quite as solid as they were 10 years ago when he got them, he thinks snowshoeing might be the way to go. I'm looking at used stuff, and I think I have found a great pair for only $80. New they are around $200, so if they really look as good as they should be, we might be in luck. And they are only a 20 minute drive away.
@ashleycarole86 and @micki48 - your exchange about body "feel" is a good one to get into. I have to say, I do not "feel" that much smaller than I was, but I know I sure am. Just like I do not "feel" as old as I am! Yikes! I read a news story about someone who died at age 68 today, and they looked SO much older than I am. I turned 68 a few days ago So yeah, it is true. Our mental image does NOT keep up with the changes.
@bonnie_red yep. Some kind of change sometimes has to happen! What do you think needs to change? Usually it is diet-related. What stops progress more than other things? For me it is grains, but it is different for our various ages, body types, stage of weight-loss, etc. Take some time to experiment - an entire week with one change (and only one!) to see if that might do it. Then things might be clearer.
So who is up for finishing Week 3 for us? Time for some people to catch up, and for the Saturday people to be ready -

Onward to the final week of January. Wow. How did that happen so fast??5 -
ahhh...Saturday. It's snowing and I have no where I have to be and no one (visiting nurses, home health aides or visitors or family) is coming to our house. Hallelujah! The weekends are usually difficult for me eating-wise but I've had trouble this whole last week - not that I don't have a fridge full of healthy options, other things are around as well and I've just ate it all. So starting out my morning checking in here, getting inspired, and will hit that reset button NOW rather than Monday morning. First step...plan my food day.
I've got my sewing machine (I'm a wanna be sewist) on the kitchen table. I haven't had it out since last winter when I had to put away my work-in-progress when my stitches became wonky and no mental energy or time to fix it. That will be a good project for today - get it running smoothly again and back in use.4 -

5 weeks in red. I just can't stay on track. Some of that was holidays, but mostly emotional eating. I ate chips and string cheeses (yes, more then 1) for dinner last night. I have increased my veggies. I have been eating carrots, cucumbers and bell peppers everyday, but I have also had lots of junk.7 -

1/21 exercise:
11,494 steps + 1 hour Orangetheory (25 minutes treadmill + 35 minutes rowing, weightlifting, stretching. Fitbit gave me 4,631 steps for the hour)
Still adjusting my gait to the barefoot shoes. My feet are a bit sore today so I'm going to try some stretches to get things moving. But I'm really loving how the shoes feel2 -
@jugar PLEASE change my weigh in for this week. Finally I had a drop and so glad I didn't get discouraged last night and binge.
