Hugs to you all! I'm just about to jump in the shower after a late bike session, so I won't go on much right now, but it has been lovely reading all your news today.
Reminder time - here are all the weigh-ins due through Thursday -

Thank you @jugar, @ashleycarole86 and @PlaneMonkey for the kind words. Definitely made me tear up a bit and I really appreciate everyone here. @PlaneMonkey just did my ballet beautiful work out! Only 20 minutes but it was the most important thing today.
@DD265 Katie! Love the hair! Super fun and very pretty💜
@kellie_erin I hope you get another interview soon. Try to think of it as practice and it just means you are perfecting your interview skills. Hang in there and hugs
@micki48 So good to hear from you! What grade would you teach? Please tell me you packed your children's book collection 😆6 -
I lost a few days somehow...have just caught up on posts. This is the only group I've ever participated in on the internet - you guys are so inspiring. Not only for your wins and ideas but for your life challenges and chaotic lives. I started to slide the last two days...back today for a perfect day. Mum's doc appt on Tue - stopping chemo - not accomplishing what it was supposed to.
@conleywoods your post about about being mad and sad about having lost the ground you'd gained last year...I'm with you on that. Hope the wellness coach can set you back on a good course.
@planemonkey the neck thing - THAT is no fun, affects almost everything you do. It's been decades since I had something like that, chiropractor was my fix. Sympathies for back to office stress - you crack me up 'crankypants'.
@kellie_erin I don't have a lot of experience with interviews but I do know that inexplicable minute factors out of one's control are often at play - try not to take it personally (hard, I know) - and keep interviewing, you'll be a great fit somewhere!!
@DD265 great color
@micki48 happy to see your name pop up again! and you've landed in Pennsylvania with some interesting paths ahead of you, how exciting!
okay! I'm off to .....a perfect day.6 -

@eggfreak what vegetables do you like to grow? This is my first year trying and I hope it turns out ok. I was growing some bell peppers and started them indoors like it suggested and none of them grew 😕 I hope that's not a sign of the squash, zucchini, and tomatoes 😂
This week has been so-so for me. I went to the gym 3 times and did a lot of yardwork too! We got food brought in to work one day and I was able to limit myself and track the calories! Then yesterday I caved and had a bunch of easter candy. But today is a new day!
Hi Lauren, this year I'm limiting myself to the things I found I can grow well AND will actually eat - tomatoes, cucumbers, scarlet runner beans, honeynut squash, a couple potato bags, and that might be it....but then I always add more...like, I need to have 2 zucchini, etc...my space is already full with all listed above. Deer are a big factor here and last year I fenced my garden. Most all I'll grow UP so I have more room. Last year I had 12 kale plants and made only about 2 salads - will this year have 2 plants and make at least 12 salads, Ha! I've sowed seeds indoors for some things but often it's easier to just buy a 6-pack of veg at the nursery when the weather and soil temp improve.4 -

Thursday weigh-in
PW 168.8
CW 166.4
Earlier this week I committed to @jugar that this weigh-in would be below my original goal weight of 168 (normal BMI). Having accountability to this group and people to talk about this stuff with is another key to success! Thanks to this team for the helping hand along the way5 -
Woohoo, Got my new computer set up at the new job, so I can see you guys super clear now... Got my log in set for auto. I am ready for May !
I've been recording my food, and exercising everyday, even though it's not alot, I am fitting in atleast 10 minutes. These 10 hour days are kickin my butt. But next week is my last 50/60 hr week. So I am super excited about that.
Food hasn't been great, but not horrible either, so I think I am getting myself in the position to seriously kick Mays butt !
Do you guys eat mushrooms, I was reading this stuff about how they are so good for you, but I don't like them. So I bought and started taking a supplement that is supposed to contain 7 kinds of mushrooms... Anyway, I think it is helping it has definitely increased my energy , I no longer dread getting out of bed, and I don't feel like plopping on the couch and not moving after work, last night I cleaned the inside and outside of my fridge.. ( That is super weird for me, lol)
Although this new found energy could be from several other things, like looking forward to one job, that I like, or just general happiness, so I don't really know, but I have it, so I am going to hold on to it and run with it, lol...
Have a wonderful day !

This is a BIG DEAL! Ashley has lost over 125 pounds now. That's some serious stuff! On top of that, she inspires everyone in this group, helps us keep our motivation and commitment. The team tiara is on her head for sure! And I hope she is dancing. And I want a video of that.
And here's Brad ready to join you7 -

Almost back to pre-trip weight. First week back in office this week. Ate responsibly at a restaurant once and brought pre-measured food from home twice. Thanks to @ashleycarole86 for making lunches this week - you rock!7 -
That's brilliant @ashleycarole86 - you must feel fantastic.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom's treatment @eggfreak. A couple of days to sit with that seems completely reasonable to me.
@Gidgitgoescrazy I am not a mushroom fan either, so a supplement could well be of interest! I'm also noticing a correlation between good mood and energy levels, though - it's so difficult to know what's actually making the difference.
I am feeling snacky but refusing to give in. I had a really good day yesterday, and am determined to stay on track today as well. I've got various lower calorie snacks to fall back on, but there is chocolate everywhere and it's winking at me today. I can fit a Creme Egg into my calories but I am concerned about opening the floodgates so I shall hold off, and maybe make it the last thing I eat this evening. We have chocolate in the fridge (OH's), cupboard (mine), on the worktop (mine) and on top of the microwave. I'm going to try and move it into less obvious places after tea - immediately after tea so I'm full when I touch it.
There was a blue tit - a small bird - in the cat enclosure this morning. When I went in, it forced its way out of the mesh which must be how it got in to begin with. Poor thing - I am glad the cats didn't know as they've never had such a close opportunity to catch a critter before! Otherwise a largely uneventful day thus far. I have plans to finish that last bit of organisation in our bedroom (I have one basket left) but not sure beyond that.5 -
Appreciate the kind words @jugar and @DD265
As luck would have it as part of this big day, I happened to have my long overdue physical with my doctor scheduled. The last time we went over things, he was throwing out suggestions I may have blood pressure issues, suggesting I might want to consider weight loss surgery, etc.....
Well imagine his surprise today! It was a great feeling to know that weight was not going to be a concern at my appointment. First time in adulthood I've felt that way!
One other thing I've noticed... it's MUCH easier for me to get my 10,000 steps (or close) in steps specifically when I work from the office. The distance from my parkade to my building, from my desk to the bathroom, and the walks to the kitchen for coffee add up! So, even though my lunchtime walk is generally shorter, I still end up ahead.
4/20 exercise:
10,191 steps + 32 minutes Peloton7 -
@DD265 well done on keeping away from the snacks! That kind of determination is fabulous.
I had a rough day on food, but a great time on other nourishment because of it. I was supposed to meet up with a friend at a café, but it closed right at the time we got there. So we ended up at the only place open in town - a pub. We had a good snack and a beer that totally blew my calories for the day, but the discussion of a project she is inviting me to join was really exciting and I think it will be wonderful. Sometimes the unplanned blow-out is worth it. Tomorrow's another day!
I hope everyone is ready for yet another Friday - let's get all the weigh-ins rolling in:

Hallo! Man, it feels like months ago that I was here. My OH brings home too many containers of heavily salted foods (teriyaki chicken thighs, etc.) which make for helpful lunch or supper additions but good grief! I feel about 8 pounds heavier.
I’ll weigh in tomorrow morning and really hope it isn’t as bad as it feels. There’s something about high salt in food that gives me wicked indigestion. Yuck.
It was great to see @jugar last Saturday en route home after being with Dad (aka happy pappy) for the week. I knew I blew calories that meal when I ate an entire serving of homemade chocolate cream pie. Must be balancing all that darned sodium!
See you in the morning!!

@jugar Can you move me back to the main team? I am trying to cut again for the next few weeks. Thanks!4 -
Today started well, but I've just heard some sad news from a co-worker and now I feel a little blue! It's overcast but when I finish work I shall go for a walk and that will cheer me up - there are ducklings at the Wharf now.
I didn't eat the Creme Egg last night, though I did eat up to my calorie goal. I also moved the chocolates right after tea, pretty much all to the top of the fridge so I can leverage 'out of sight, out of mind'. I know I could just throw/give it away but I can't bring myself to do it... The worktop looks clearer now anyway, so that's a bonus!
This morning I had a chicken wrap for breakfast as I was quite hungry and had a few back to back meetings, but also a 239kcal energy drink; although I had about 8 hours sleep I felt like I needed something to focus at 8am. Fairly high-calorie start to the day but I'm not hungry any more! I've pre-tracked lunch - pasta pot - and dinner - beef stir fry - plus have some calories left for snacks if I want. I did consider upping my calorie goal to 1800 (so +150) which is about where it was when I was at this weight last year, but I'll leave it be, as I think most days those extra calories would be used on sweet or savoury snacks just because they're there to be used, and that's ultimately the habit I need to break.4 -

That's great awareness! I'm definitely the same, if I see there's room in the calorie allowance, I'm going to fill it with something. It's the reason I turned off the exercise calories settings. I would just eat because the number said I could, not because I was actually hungry.3 -

@PlaneMonkey I wish you were next door - I have a good "fix" to help a kinked neck. It involves pinning the upper traps and activating opposing muscles for a deeper release. I could demonstrate the basics to your OH and watch to make sure your head stays attached to your neck? :-)
May 2nd I'll start my new job and plan to make steady toning and weight loss a real *thing*. It will be nice to earn a paycheck whilst being physically active. I'll join the step team then, too!
"Sock Buddies" (which @jugar mentioned making) work best when brown rice is used. The germ contributes to holding in natural moisture so you'll be able to microwave it over a year before the rice starts to smell a bit burned. Using a de-germed or partially cooked white rice makes it burn a lot sooner.
I'm walking with a friend this morning which is always lovely. We're actually anticipating sunshine *all* day. Wowza! Let's hear it for a sunny day in Vermont.
Have a great day everyone!5 -

Happy Friday!
I'm thinking about hunger this morning. I ate a lot more than usual yesterday, so I did not wake up hungry. Usually, I am up and out of bed because I am hungry, and before each meal I am good and hungry. I think this is an important sign that the amounts are right on target. You know that expression at work when someone is "hungry" and it means they work really hard, get the job done above expectations, and are heading towards more responsibility and higher pay? That kind of hungry works well for weight loss too. It is your friend. Here at almost 10 years maintenance, it is still true. If I am not hungry for a meal, I know I ate too much previously. The feeling of emptiness gives me strength in a weird way - like how you exhale completely to lift a weight. So be hungry a bit more if you are struggling. Notice I say a bit! Don't go overboard or you'll binge afterwards, and take a day of full satisfaction regularly enough. Take a plateau when you need one, but be the boss of when it ends.
That said (wow, I'll put away the soapbox now), I had a gain this week, but I'm planning on being a bit hungrier today7 -
