We will expand on you Connie! But expandable supplements straight-up not quite the same as "premeasured" noodle. True, I wouldn't necessarily start with the whole 300g bag as some of us may be used to doing But I don't think that a "portion" would be risking the issues described at extreme usage.
That said... it is like eating cardboard... only cutely shaped . Cauliflower rice is definitely more tasty as far as I'm concerned... hence I eat cauliflower rice much more frequently! But I do get a weird urge for konjac ONCE in a while and buy three bags from amazon that sit in the fridge till they are almost expired!2 -
I love risotto, who doesn’t?….when we lived in Vegas we would go to the casino where OJ was arrested ( I can’t remember the name of it ) and they had the most delicious 3 cheese risotto….today I saw a recipe made with orzo pasta ( a portion of orzo is pretty good sized ) mixed with chicken broth, spices,Parmesan ( the good kind ) and some other cheese….I bet this would be good with some peas in it and maybe Smithfield Anytime diced ham, or grilled chicken pieces….I might have to make this….and it is cold here again tonight in the high 40 s….brrrrr1

Wow - no wheat flour? Is the cake more ??? filling/dense made with fava bean flour?
Do you have a protein count? lol...I could just add the ingredients to a MFP recipe but thought I would ask you first
Might just have to try this baby0 -
So maybe I need to pick up some more shirataki noodles? After being so very pleased with the soy spaghetti today, I'm feeling pretty adventurous1

The soy spaghetti sounds more tasty I'll be honest. More tasty but more calories. So I use the noodles (rice) when I am trying to bulk up a soup or stew or something that I am making as a low calorie "filling" food on a day where I have lots of cookies and chocolates to provide me with actual calories!1

It was no denser than a cake made with regular flour...just gluten-free (if you use GF baking powder). Here’s the nutrition info:

Just ordered some shirataki rice from Amazon. You sold me, PAV. I can see this being a good filler in chili or veggie stews so I'll give it a try!2

Just one for testing, right?! Hopefully one of the ones with mixed in oat fiber?1

That is the one!2

In honor of Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras, we’re having a cauliflower rice version of shrimp jambalaya- without the andouille sausage ‘cause I don’t have any. Doubling up on veggies.0

Recipes for cucumber potato salad:
Another similar recipe from hubby’s Sicilian grandma who didn’t measure anything:
*Potatoes boiled, peeled, cubed
*cucumbers (seeded + peeled)or small pickling cucumbers not seeded or peeled
*Mild white onion or scallions
*Dress lightly with olive oil and oregano
*Salt + pepper
I try to use equal quantities of potatoes, cucumber, less onion. Go easy on the olive oil and oregano but can be increased to taste.1 -
Oh this will be tried! So I don't know why you would not also do cauliflower? I've done most veggies as salads. My downfall with them was always the leader of olive oil kilo of feta cheese and kilo of dark rye that would go with them.
All quantities approximate. But it wasn't unknown to go through a litre and a half of olive oil in a month. Or to open a can of Bulgarian feta cheese and have it disappear in less than 3 days.0 -
This really sounds great!…Alec you do not need to change the recipe!1
-
Either recipe involves no feta cheese or liter of olive oil! Serve room temperature. I usually do a bit more sliced cucumbers than potatoes.2

Healthy carrot muffins. I make these often and freeze. About 240 calories per muffin per the recipe.
But I don’t add walnuts, use non fat Greek yogurt, and skip the extra sprinkle of sugar topping. Scroll down and read notes for other substitutions.

Mmmm, Yooly! I wish one of these would appear beside my teacup right now!2

Bet your Boy would love them too. Hubby is always stealing my stash of muffins.3
-
He would. Maybe we should bake a batch!2

Probably the only way he can eat a carrot at the moment
