- that's me going back to work on Monday for a rest. 😆
You are not kidding!! You sound like me back in working days - non-working days were far busier than working ones. Just keep loading up on the vegetables and less on the other stuff over the time when you're visiting and playing crazy pool! Part of your food prep can just be cutting up all the good raw veggies to have with hummous or some kind of not-too-crazy dip. Have a blast!3 -
@mmarceau2 - you're off to a great start getting ready for the trip. Take a few deep breaths and trust that your wonderful son will have a great time and camp, and if some little difficulties arise, he'll figure it out. He's one smart little guy! The mom stuff does get better. The more they can do and the more you see how they handle things, the less you have to do for them. It's amazing. Then you get to be the person who has known them the longest and best, and they still can turn to you when they need the absolute most honest, rock solid help. It gets better. Really.
Now. Do you know any fabulous women in their early 20s who would like to meet my son? He really, really needs a sassy, funny, bossy woman in his life4 -
Line up, oh Friday people - let's have your lovely numbers!
@EvMakesChanges
@conleywoods
@ells_bellz
@micki48
@robinhardysmall
and @bowens1973 - are you weighing in this week? Or still on the road?2 -
I also like to have bananas in - can't go wrong with banana sandwiches!
I have to ask about this because I'm SO curious!
How do you prepare this sandwich? What kind of condiment goes with it?
I have peanut butter and banana sandwiches, but you aren't mentioning peanut butter so that makes me think there's a different way!

Thanks @jugar
I just made sure not to let that crazy jump get in my head and got back on track.
Great weigh-in @PlaneMonkey ... you are so in the zone!!
@CarolAnnM2 Love the idea of celebrating your success with an event. Hope he was funny!
6/29 exercise:
11212 steps
I was in the office today but Brad was working from home. We are still not on the road for the trailer yet though - so much to do after work! I am exhausted, I rode the Peloton for 60 minutes and it wiped me out today. Brad is showering and then we are on the road.

I am also intrigued by the banana sandwich. What kind of bread do you use? Is this a treat, or a meal?
Anyone else with an android phone having problems with the app crashing? I'm logging in through my internet browser on the phone instead. Curious if it's just me, but it has been doing this all day.1 -

Although I gained a few pounds since my last weigh in, I actually lost 13 of the 17 pounds gained in Las Vegas. SEVENTEEN pounds ...Ugh!5 -
@PlaneMonkey He just shut it down but @bowens1973 is having the same issue.. I have an android and no problems here. Odd. He too used the web browser to get in2

It's literally bread (or toast) and sliced (discs) banana. If I wasn't watching my calories I'd use butter; often I go without and don't find the sandwich too dry. When I was growing up, three slices of toast with two layers of banana in between was my favourite. As an adult, thick soft fresh white bread (sliced or rolls) or toasted bagels. Such a good fall back option.
@planemonkey I would have it as a snack or meal, depending on the quantity. Two slices of bread/two rolls is enough for a meal, one would be a snack!
I've never tried it with peanut butter - something to think about, though I'd need to buy a jar!3 -
OH was 2 hours late home from his night shift this morning and whilst he'd warned me (at his finish time) that he was going to be late, he hadn't said if he was OK. That's the first time I've properly worried about him in the job, but, with the help of a meeting, I avoided going into the kitchen for a snack and by the time I did go down, he had just pulled up in the car. He's fine, just a task that ran over, which was always the most likely outcome anyway.
We're trying a new recipe tonight; it's a tomato based pasta sauce with sausages and peppers, and pasta of course. Before we moved, the local butcher made what they called Italian sausages; pork and tomato with Italian herbs - they were beautiful in pasta, and would've been perfect for this dish. I am going to put an order in with the butcher to collect later in the month if I can; been meaning to do that for a while and we have the freezer space!
I've decided to do a low-buy in July after we massively overspent in June. Our salaries didn't cover the deficit plus July's budget so I had to move from savings and I hate doing that. The relevance of this to MFP is that one of the things I won't be doing is impulsively buying snacks; I want to cut out those trips to the corner shop that cost £5-10 a time, are done when I'm feeling emotional/craving, and always result in buying and eating too much junk food. Also planning to cut down on eating out (be it fast food, takeaways, meals out etc) as we've gotten into bad habits with that lately.
Unfortunately with the friend coming this weekend, we're already looking at lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast - I'm going to push us to the outlet village (there's a Subway, or a jacket potato place) or McDonalds tomorrow night so I can go for a salad or jacket potato. I'll also be eating out for the entirety of the London trip next weekend, but at least that will come with lots of walking, plus my sister is doing really well on Noom and wants to stay focused.6 -
@ashleycarole86 and @bowens1973 I uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the play store and everything works now. Weird.0

Yesterday was good, stayed within points, and everything was good... Got the Bike set up, so I will start that today...
Have a wonderful weekend everyone !5 -

YAY! Great news. Turned it around from your reported "terrible" to good - that's wonderful to hear3 -
6/30 exercise:
9321 steps, 61 minutes Peloton2 -
@PlaneMonkey I have an android and had the same issue, also solved by reinstalling - but then I had it happen again this morning, so I reinstalled again! It seems okay now but I am giving the app shifty eyes.
I'm getting a little worried about my appetite now. The stress of the interview is past (I think they went well! Won't know til I hear from HR), but last night I ended up being out late around dinner time and getting home at 9:30 (which was not the plan) and still wasn't very hungry. I did have some cheese and berries before bed because going to sleep on a very empty stomach seemed like a poor idea. as it turns out, I think I had a dream about a cupcake??
but now it's just about 1pm, I had my regular breakfast (bowl of cheerios) around 9 and I am not like. anxious for lunch? I have been having a busy day already of walking, yoga, grocery shopping for the weekend, and baking a berry buckle that just came out of the oven (smells awesome in here). But I SHOULD be hungry by now. Just very odd but I don't want to make myself eat if I am truly not hungry. Heat could also be playing a factor, as it has been reaching 80F+ by 10am most days this week.
However, I am guessing once cocktails and snacks come out at the beach house this weekend, I will be miraculously cured! I know I've continued to lose this week (took a peek at the scale today) so that will help build in a buffer like Courtney said. And I will stick to the plan for movement while I'm away!
@DD265 that's the other side of our corner store runs - your wallet will also thank you for stopping!! I think it's been just over a week since I had a trip myself, which feels like a small triumph.
TGIF team!!6 -
Happy Friday / Canada Day!
It is becoming a rather hot day here - I'm trying to stop procrastinating and get my exercise done before it gets seriously hot.
Guess I had better hop to it, eh? Have a good one!3 -
Finally done (except for dog walk) early tonight. Almost done with week 1. So far, I am feeling pretty good about the start. Only one "bad" day on Tuesday when I went to dinner with friends. Restaurant did not have the best choices available, but I at least ate responsibly. I am pleased that I have managed to hit water and sleep goals so far. Biggest disappointment is continued problem with my hip/back/butt issues that is keeping me from riding (my number one emotion and stress manager). Hopefully I will get some answers next week. All said, though, I am pretty happy that this has not totally derailed me. My typical response would be to say chuck it all and then self-soothe with really bad food choices! Just so frustrating to have a new horse and not be able to ride. Picture is of my last ride on her a week or so ago. Prior, I was only getting a ride or two in before having it get too painful to continue.
Just visited the "Habit Tracker". What a really nice tool it is. Am making a note to start using that next month. I think it is a great way of setting goals and following up.
7 -
@jan110144 What a beautiful horse. It's so hard to be kept from doing the things we love because our bodies aren't cooperating. Hope you get some answers soon.2
-
@jan110144 I second the praise of your lovely horse! And you look great on her. I know how hard it is to have some dreaded butt/hip/whatever problem that makes riding impossible, and I hope your return to riding is quicker than mine was last year!
As to the habit tracker, please go ahead and use it right away! There is no need to have started last week - I blew off a week myself, so just go to our team tab at the bottom, add your own name, your list of things to track, and you're golden.4 -
It looks like there might be some people who could not get through the app problems today to post a weigh-in - or maybe they just need to catch up tomorrow. Here are all the people due through Saturday - week 1 will be a wrap when we have all these numbers, so don't dawdle!

I am really happy with this. It doesn't look like much but my body scan yesterday was great! I was having an issue with loosing a bit of muscle each time I had my inbody scan at the health coaches office. This time it finally came back up. I lost more body fat and gained 1.5 lbs of muscle.
I'm behind on posts and everyone has been posting lots of good stuff! I read in chunks but always get interrupted. @Kali225 I too am not really hungry. I am having a hard time fitting in all of my calories. Really making a point to eat breakfast to get the calories in. Don't want to lose my muscle I just got back! Workouts are going well and I love my new workout room. Makes the entire process easier than constantly setting up and taking down daily. Ballet Beautiful had a special this month so I signed up. Haven't had a subscription for quite a while so excited about that!6 -
Great weigh-ins this week @lauren_989 @conleywoods
Helping to finish our week 1 strong!
7/1 exercise:
6988 steps
About 6000 of those steps was from our one long walk (60 mins) which means for the rest of the day I took under 1000 steps! Oops
When we are at the trailer the space is so small that a walk to the fridge, washroom, etc. is like 2 steps. So, when we are here, we have to be intentional about exercise. The day started great with the one hour walk - the sun was shining. We then had a couple drinks and played some cards and then a short nap (really got some good R&R on Canada Day for sure!) and then we woke up to a crazy storm. The lightning just kept coming... it was pouring, mini hail at one point.. we actually just ended up going to bed early and I got 9 hours of sleep.
Today will be similarly difficult as the rain is supposed to continue, so we'll see. I do have light weights here so I'll try to do some strength.
Enjoy the day!4 -
Hi! I'm Kristi and I live in Washington state. I'm married and we will celebrate our 15th anniversary in less than 2 weeks. We have 3 kids age 13, 11 and 7. We live on 100 acres in the forest with lots of hiking out the back-door. We have 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs. The whole family is on summer break until September. We are spending lots of time outdoors especially at a family members lake cabin.
I have been on.my weight loss journey since February 2019. I make slow progress and had a big setback last year dealing with major work stress. I hired a wellness coach this past April and finally got back on track. I have learned a lot from her and have made some major changes to my diet and exercise. I am counting macros and doing mostly HIIT workouts and seeing pretty steady results. It's slow going but it's going.
My July goals
➡️ Hit my macros 6 days a week
➡️ Move internationally most days a week
➡️ 3 HIIT workouts a week
➡️ Pick a health related book and start reading5 -
Hello. I am alive. It's been so many months, I know. Some members probably dont even know me. Things have been difficult and I basically haven't been able to face anything. No coping skills.
It really hurt to weigh myself this morning, because I've gained so much back. But there's reality. I'm at 187 pounds and I need to start again from there. I went to the gym yesterday for the first time in a year.
@jugar I'd like to come back please, if I can.9 -
@AshenMoon CONGRATULATIONS!!! Wishing you all the best in your marriage. 🎉1
-
Welcome back @Terytha! Glad to have you back. Time to just look forward. Can’t change what has already happened. Don’t feel bad. I have been here, sort of, and STILL have had a setback. I also need to reset and so far it’s not going well for me.
So I’ve caught up with posts. Glad @Gidgitgoescrazy has had good days. Still trying to get there.
Logging my food every day did not happen. Just Try July now needs to be Just Try Harder July. My challenges remain life in a house full of snacks/snackers, having my life out of sync living with my daughter and family, not knowing where all my stuff is, not feeling I have time to do me. But I really think having my new doctor double my blood pressure medicine is wreaking havoc on my body. My feet are definitely retaining fluids. I hate it. If I could lose the weight maybe my bp would go back down. But this week, with no extraordinary events/eating, I gained the most weight in a week since joining. I hesitate to record it because everyone is doing so well. I don’t want to mess up the stats.
That said, @jugar you can decide. I will give you my weight but if you want to give me an excused to retain our losses, I have no problem with that.

I know I have not been perfect, but I didn’t do that with food.
Logging every day may be too big a step for me. So I am going to try committing to checking in HERE every day and hopefully logging will naturally follow.10 -
