In a month like December, I am ok with simply maintaining!

Went to a party tonight with friends from the gym - totally cool to see people looking normal and not sweaty!

@Megan_smartiepants1970 : hope that you feel better soon.
Good morning everyone! It's a mostly cloudy day here today. My daughter says hello to all. Both budgie birds are doing well and say cheep, cheep! I'm going to be watching the soccer world Cup final game today. I went for a short run earlier this morning and I really enjoyed it. I went for a walk a while ago and I feel great! I'll be doing some dancing later on. Have a great day, everyone! Take care and stay safe.

Like clockwork I'm sick the week before Christmas. So far just a cold which I guess I should be happy just to have that. In 2018 and 2019 I had the flu and missed Christmas.

Sorry you are sick ... I hope you feel better soon

    Not a great week
    Previous weight - 68kg
    Current weight - 66.5kg

Not great on the diet and snow cut down my exercise. The further cause of the low spirits is that we lost both the heating and water for the best part of this week. I am not sure if this will get to the group as I am finding the communities section of MFP very hard to navigate.

Stupid flu has zapped my energy. I usually get the fly around this time every year, but this year I got my flu shot for the first time. By far the most mild flu I've had. I'm somewhat functional lol. Still just walking on the treadmill followed by strength training. Just don't have the energy to rub yet.

Good morning. Just wrapped up my fall semester and am now on Christmas break. Finally! I’m exhausted. However - I am excited because I’m switching gears and started back at my vet tech roots. I took a very part-time job with a former coworker and now work every other Saturday at a vet clinic. Since I’m on break, I also get to work a couple extra full days next week. I missed the vet world terribly, and it feels really good to be back AND to be working with an awesome coworker/mentor!

I’m also spending time working on my resume and applying for jobs because (fingers-crossed!) this is my last year teaching. I’m finishing up my 10th year, and want to get out. Teaching was never supposed to be my career path - it was supposed to be a placeholder until I figured out what I wanted. Here I am 10 years later, now feeling stuck. Don’t get me wrong: I love what I teach (forensic science), but it’s not what I’m meant to do.

The stress of the job has taken a toll - my weight is right back up and I’m exhausted all the time.

Wish me luck on finding a new career! I think I’d be good at project management, so that’s what I’m researching now.

    Anyway…
    PW: 175 (I think)
    CW: 174.6

    Steps:
    12/12: 6,476
    12/13: 6,044
    12/14: 7,414
    12/15: 4,963
    12/16: 5,427
    12/17: 4,524
    12/18: 1,052

Have a great week everyone. Happy Holidays!!

Great loss ...Good luck finding a new career... My daughter wants to be a Veterinarian...She graduates in June of 2023... then she will go to a vocational school for Vet tech ...Her ultimate goal is to have her own clinic in Colorado (if we get the chance to move there)

One thing you can do to help find your way around is this. Find this symbol near the top of the page and click it.

Then you can just go to "My Bookmarks" on the opening of the Community page and get here every time.

    Good luck!

    Hard week with sugar.
Really want to work on this over next few days as sugary food is my worst enemy.
On good news our first granddaughter is finally coming out of hospital today after being born 9 days ago. It's been a massive stressful time hence why all the bingeing on sugar crap.

Good evening all. Finally giving a check in.
    Check in for 12/19:
    Steps - 11597
    Calories - 2600
Exercise - pickleball for 45 minutes.

Lots of walking lately. Went to the wild animal park yesterday, quick trip to sea world today just to get a picture with Bumble, whom we have been after for 2 years. Went on a walk Saturday after a long layoff due to my back.

Sorry to make you have to send out a reminder. It seems like I'm bouncing around a few pounds each week and can't regain a trend. The bottom line is I haven't been exercising enough since catching COVID about 10 days before Thanksgiving and that's the primary driver. It's more a lack of motivation than real health issues at this point so I need to take some time and think about my future plans and regain my motivation.
