Hi all!
Well, it happened - positive covid test this morning... I just hope with all my heart that my mom did not also get it. We all both all boosted up, and she already had it once, so I'm hoping if she does get it she will be like the last time with just mild cold symptoms. I feel fine - just like a very minor cold, no fever so far. But now our house is a divided nation. Luckily it is possible to do that, and we both wear masks whenever not in our designated "mine only" spaces. Harrrumph I say! I made it through all this time without catching it, but with travel, crowds, and people everywhere without masks, I guess it was hard to avoid. I mask absolutely everywhere in public, but that just was not enough.
No excuse not to exercise, though! I am "living" in my all purpose exercise and music room, and sleeping in my son's old room. And the outdoors is full of lovely snow and clean air
I hope you are feeling better @ashleycarole86 - and if not, stay in bed and drink lots of water
As to water, @kto0194 - I absolutely love seltzer, and make my own at home. It is the best way I have found to drink more water. You can add a splash of juice, fresh lemon or lime, a tad of white wine on special occasions - anything goes! I have a fire extinguisher with food-grade CO2 in it, I re-use 2 litre bottles with little adapters, shake each one 100 times twice (great arm-jiggle exercise!), and it is fabulous. It is SO much cheaper than Soda Stream or any other system, and you do not have the endless trash of little cartridges. Here is an article that describes the system - https://www.seriouseats.com/pros-cons-diy-carbonation-rig Let me know if you want to give it a try - I know where to get all the little gadgets It only takes a few minutes a day to always have a few bottles of the stuff in the fridge.

@jugar I hope you feel better soon and don't get too sick! Unfortunatelty covid is going around like crazy in NC. In our hospital system, the numbers have almost tripled in the last month or so. And not many wear masks when out in public.
I saw someone at work today eating cookies and drinking a mountain dew and I thought to myself, that looks good! Why can't I eat just what I want? (Of course this coworker is not at a healthy weight) I told myself that I am doing this for my future self and if I eat it now, I won't even remember eating it next week. That worked for me today!
@kto0194 I have a hard time drinking water too. I have a cup of tea in the morning and drink with meals, but otherwise I don't drink much. I recently got a yeti 30 oz cup and I find that helps me drink more, just having it nearby at all times.1 -
Hi WA's....Another new member joining your wonderful team ...Please welcome @Major_Psy_Girl2

All right! @Major_Psy_Girl welcome aboard! We are just about ready to jump into a wonderful January, so introduce yourself (name and area you live if you are comfortable sharing), tell us about your journey, your commitment, and what you're bringing through the door. We'll take it all and I hope you find this group to be as helpful as the rest of us.
I know a few of us have been around horses and love working with the silly beasts - my daughter sent me a great hilarious line today. "I hope someone is out there lunging 2023 before we all get on." I laughed my butt off. If you need it explained, ask away! You'll love it.
Covid may be here in me, but so far, it isn't doing much. I had a lovely walk in the woods and found all the canids' tracks except maybe wolf (sadly) - coyotes, foxes, a dog - and tons of birds, deer, and little squirrel, mouse, weasel, etc. My kind of heavy traffic5 -
Oh @jugar @ashleycarole86 Liselyn and Ashley ❤️ Feel better soon ladies ❤️1

Feeling a bit better again today. Although I felt that two days ago, and then backslid. Hopefully it sticks. Brad and I took the dog out for a 25 minute walk. We also did quite a bit around the house, tore down most of Christmas, etc.
I have been tracking again the last few days. Just getting back into the habit now that everything has calmed down a bit. Today's weigh in was a big surge from where I've been. Intend to be showing up here a week today with a loss.5 -

Hi team! Sorry I ghosted this entire month. I hope to have a spare few hours to go back and catch up and to meet all the new team members before kicking off January.
I'm still maintaining in the upper end of my goal zone and the arrival of a ridiculous amount of snow in a short time span has kept the calories burning. We also have covid at the moment, just in time to ruin all our chances of gathering with family for lots of good food. Hubby decided we were going on a soup and salad kick mid-month so that helped me stay in my maintenance range when things could have easily gotten out of hand.
I haven't been working well towards being a person who intentionally exercises in the evenings except that I signed up for a weekly tabata workout session through my municipality starting at the end of January to force me off the couch an extra night per week. Binge watching tv has become my go-to whenever reno's aren't ongoing. Going to have to steer myself in a new direction.
It has been too mild for my home ice rink to freeze and the long range forecast doesn't look promising for weeks. @jugar I hope you got your snowshoeing fix while you could, the rain this weekend could turn our trails to slushy muck.
I'm going to recommit to reading the group posts nightly before bed as that was integral to my success on my journey. Refreshing your voices in my head every night, reinforcing better choices every day.
@micki48 thanks for thinking of me! I'm here, just a bit absent at the same time.

Down the tiniest little bit! I am working on my habits and getting much better at no snacks and intermittent fasting. Just got an intermittent fasting book and a new cook book today. Feeling inspired. @jugar love your daughters quote for the new year. When my horse was a 3 year old you didn't dare get on without 20 minutes of lounging. My workouts are pretty sparse at the moment.
I hope everyone who is sick starts feeling better soon @ashleycarole86 @jugar and @PlaneMonkey .5 -
Hi to all new members!
I am post redundant and only read the last two pages as I haven’t been able to catch up due to travelling and being present with family and friends.
To those with Covid and feeling poorly, remember your vitamins, water, rest well and feel better soon.
I’m taking my mum to Scotland for NY, she hasn’t been back for NY since I was 2, so it’s long overdue. We have a family party on NY day and most of my Scottish family will be there. My mum is the last Anderson, when she goes our little branch will be closed. We’re all girls apart from one and he’s too old now to carry on the line.
My visit to the UK has been good so far, food wise I enjoyed Christmas and Boxing Day but the rest of the time it has been business as usual.
I am a person who Intermittently Fasts. I am in a great position for the start of 2023!
I return home on Jan 7th when I expect to be a more active member of WA’s

Today : I will not rummage around other offices looking for chocolate.
Going to gather the few ingredients for Martha Stewart's veg/bean soup - I can eat as much of that as I want and delicious hot or cold. Was often on my menu when I was at my best...will see if it can nudge me in the right direction again.
You too @PlaneMonkey? Hope you and hubs have it mild...but that your weather gets less mild and you can have ice to play with.
@jugar I don't have horses but know the concept and love that line.3 -

Sorry, @jugar, I tried twice Wed and once yesterday and could get on.🤷♀️ Sorry you have Covid, But I am glad you are able to get out and walk.
Yesterday, Addison tested positive for Covid. She also the last one to get sick so I assumed she had what Mabel and I have, so I waited a few days to test her. Oops. I have a horrible headache so maybe I should test again?
Yestetday, I tried a new to me workout Pilates Cardio Fusion. I really enjoyed it, but had to turn it off after 10 minutes because my lungs started to burn. I've been on the elliptical since getting sick, but I guess that got my heart rate up even higher!5 -
Hi @jugar - may I have a pass this week?
This week got away from me. Between traveling home after the holidays, and now I am traveling again to be with a dear friend who lost his father unexpectedly over the holidays, I have forgotten to weigh myself. I’ve been staying active after the holidays and just wrapped up a fitness class this morning before we hit the road again for the funeral services.4 -

No problem! Take the time you need to be with your friend - I'm sure you'll be right back on track as soon as you can.2 -

Hi! Wow, it feels like forever since I was on here-I was stuck on the outside from the glitch preventing some of us from logging into our groups. Crazy making! OK, tbh, “crazier”.
Sorry that so many are getting Covid. What a successful virus to so persistently morph and mutate to stay alive. If only my feeble motivation would keep up!
Great news from the allergist. Out of a panel of 32 environmental allergens, I am allergic to only 1. Grass. So, it’s looking more likely that my chronic cough is related to GERD or even food allergies/sensitivities.
Increasing water. I incorporated some ideas from “Tiny habits”, including attach your desired behavior to something you do all the time…like, every time you go to the bathroom, drink a full glass of water when you’re done. Of course, I’d rather keep my drinking glasses out of the bathroom but it’s simple to do in any case. I don’t handle “fizz” as well as my sister, Liselyn, but am jealous of her extra “seltzercise” arm reform.
Have a great weekend, y’all!4 -

Absolutely better late than never! The new year energy is coming for you - and your old year sure is ending on a good note. 3.8 pounds gone in December? You're doing great. We're all going to have to watch out once you get your inspiration back!2 -

Boy, this is a miracle. My weight has been all over the place this week with a high of 216.3 yesterday. Just goes to show you, the s ale is just data. No way did I lose almost 3 pounds in a day. That doesn’t happen for real.
Hugs to all of you with Covid. @KellyBgetsfit definitely test again. With Covid in your house, it could be. Headache was my first symptom both times. Feel better everyone.4 -
Happy New Year's Eve, everyone! Today marks 33 years from the first time I set foot on the beautiful land where I now live. I had met my taller half a few days before, and we celebrated NYE together here. I walked up the hill from where we have to park during the winter (a steep half mile from the house), and it was so magical arriving at his little cabin in the woods that my first words when I opened the door were "How do you ever leave?". It's still magical here, we built a larger house after having a child in 1992, we adopted a second child, and now they are out in the world as wonderful adult beings. And we are still here - aging as healthily as we can. It's a romantic story, in spite of all the craziness that has happened over these 33 years, isn't it? We still drive each other crazy on the regular, but would never want to be anywhere else.
I'm doing OK with the covid, we're occupying separate parts of the house, which is weird, but so far he has not caught it. Let's hope it stays that way!6
