Apologies @jugar for being a day behind. I had this typed up and then the day got away from me because I was traveling in the afternoon out of state.
Overall, from my plan to pre-log my meals, it did go well except for desserts. I will definitely need to pre-log those too and make sure I am sticking to my plan. Since I am traveling this weekend, I have also already looked at the menus of places weβre going out to eat, and have pre-logged those for this weekend. Even if I am over my calories, Iβm trying to limit by how much by trying to focus on protein-rich foods or limited fried foods.
Iβm planning my workouts for the week as well, and so far I have:
4/8 - Rest day - celebrate my momβs birthday!
4/9 - Total Body Workout @ Hotel AM
4/10 - Arms & Abs HIIT
4/11 - Spin Class @ Gym
4/12 - Rest Day/Long Walk/Stretching
4/13 - Legs and Abs HIIT
4/14 - Upper Body & Cardio
4/15 - Strength Class @ Gym
4/16 - Yoga/Stretching
Hoping I can stick with it because Iβve been getting better at 5 days a week with workouts.7 -

I believe I am up a tiny bit. Iβm moving. Feeling less stress, but I guess more appetite.
I havenβt been getting my usual sleep scores. Lots of waking in the middle of the night and canβt fall back to sleep. I e also been sooooo tired, Iβm going up to bed much earlier. My whole sleep pattern is off for now.
The sun is shining, I have boxes π¦ calling my name as well as Easter π£ eggs π₯ to dye and I believe I promised my granddaughter weβd bake a cake. π¬
Have a great weekend friends!6 -
@cleaneater80 Thanks for rooting for my son. I so appreciate it. β€οΈ2

I just found out this week that my gallbladder needs to be removed - not too many issues thankfully but wasnβt feeling the greatest the last few days maybe itβs in my head but it helped with some weight loss this week! π I will take what I can get and Iβm so close to being in the 150βs again!
Happy Easter everyone!!6 -
Happy Saturday!
It is a gorgeous sunny day, even if quite cold - I really have to get outside more today. It will help my brain. I'm on track so far (hah! only breakfast) for a perfect day, so hold me to it. After yesterday, I need some cobweb sweeping out of my brain.
@ashleycarole86 I'm glad you're having a visit with Brad's mom - I hope the sun is shining there too. You're closer to me now, and then I'll be closer to you as of next Thursday! I'm flying into Edmonton and will be around until the 25th. Maybe we can do a meet halfway thing again, if your work schedule and other stuff is not too much. Or maybe my daughter feels like a day in Calgary And @cleaneater80 aren't you in Edmonton? It would be fun to meet if you're around. My daughter lives in Wainwright, but we will be doing city things when I arrive and the day before I leave. Let me know!
@zankash23 good luck with your rowing machine - that is smart to return it if it is not a good match. Otherwise you'll never use it, and who needs another dust-catching piece of equipment? Great job on the 2 pound loss too! We sure need that kind of green this week
@carlsoda you too! Good loss this week. Gallbladder stuff always sounds awful - but if it helps you stick with the good eating, maybe it isn't so bad Keep us posted on the surgery and all. I hope it all resolves quickly and easily.
Out with me! The sun beckons.5 -

Been a rough week as a caregiver of a very restless 93 yr old and today was the pinnacle - short story dad now has a rug burn on his forehead - I have had a glass of wine but have followed it with, instead of two more glasses, some flavored seltzer I picked up, just as good in my glass. Otherwise, not been TOO terrible with my eating - having boiled eggs and roasted veggies prepped and in the fridge makes it easy to grab something quick = I often need something quickly!
Before all the drama, we did get out for a great big walk...even into the peaceful woods.
It's just the beginning of April folks...I feel we can finish the month strong.6 -
@carlsoda gallbladder issues are so much more common than you would think. My mother and sister as well as several of my girlfriends have had theirs out. No side effects for anyone. Let us know when your surgery is happening, we will be your cheering squad!
@eggfreak you are so smart with the seltzer and having food prepped and ready. You've got this! ππ5 -
@carlsoda
Sorry to hear about the gallbladder surgery but hopefully it gets you feeling back in tip top shape!
@eggfreak
Hope your dad is okay (and you by extension!)
@jugar
Absolutely... that would be great if we can arrange a time that works.. you know I'll be down. It would be nice to see you again.
Well, there are lots of difficult family conversations going on... Brad's mom is in her mid-80's and she lives alone in quite a large house. There is talk between the siblings about the next phases for her, a burnt out sister, and lots of different opinions.. just tough stuff.
On the plus side, Brad and I got her out for a fish and chips dinner in Bobcaygeon... her first outing since COVID... it was a really nice time.
Hug your loved ones!6 -
Families - it all comes wrapped up with tough stuff and wonderful moments. Thanks for sharing about yours! @eggfreak your experience with your 93 year-old dad and my 95 year-old dad sound like we're singing some of the same songs, but you do it every day. I take my hat off to you - they are some kind of crazy handful, those old codgers! You did great keeping it to one glass of wine. Bring on the fizz! And @ashleycarole86 it sounds like you were able to give Brad's mom a lovely outing. The tough decisions still have to happen, but at least you had some good time eating fish and chips.
I got some great silly photos from my daughter today and can't wait to get there next week!
But right now, it is time to wrap up this week. LAST CALL for weigh-ins - get them in by Sunday morning please
@IDebraK

And while I'm at it, first call for week 2 -- Sunday weigh-ins:

@carlsoda I had my gallbladder out 10 years ago. I had joined weight watchers and lost a lot of weight quickly which is most likely what caused it. Just make sure to limit fatty foods after or have a bathroom nearby! I had an OR nurse tell me that is the most common surgery done (in North Carolina at least).
My week has been so-so. We had a nice Easter dinner at my in-laws tonight, so there was plenty of food and desserts. I did limit myself to 1 plate though, so even though I ate more than I should, I could have eaten a lot more. It's also been rainy and cold the past 2 days. We lost power for a few hours yesterday, but nothing like what it sounded like for @PlaneMonkey!5 -
Happy Easter everyone!
I'm currently away visiting my sister in the Netherlands. She lives in a lovely city called Kampen and I'm loving hearing the church bells ringing and calling people to worship as I type.
Anyway, I had originally asked for the week off from logging as I am away for Easter. However, as I weigh myself daily, and I flew out last Wednesday, it occurred to me that I still have some data to report on. The same applies next week as I go home on Wednesday too.
And although I am not doing my planned workout routines, I am being active in other ways. I'm still walking, for example!
So I hereby rescind my previous request for a week off.
Back in a jiffy!6 -
Back again with my weigh-in.

on to Sunday and not a single chocolate egg in sight - only colored boiled ones. That makes things a LOT easier. Now the quiche....another matter, will try to send any leftovers home with folks.
Have a nice day all.
Since returning to checking in to Waistaways more, BOY is MFP still sluggish - I half-wonder if it's the powers that be trying to get people to sign up for a paid membership.4 -
Before we get to the results, I want to take a second to sprinkle some science on you:
A pound is approximately 3500 calories. Gained or lost, that does not change. Seeing a whoosh, in either direction, from time to time, is typically indicative of water weight.
And water weight? That's a sign that your body is processing what you have put into it, whether that be filtering salt and sugar, repairing muscles, filtering toxins, pushing through illness, etc.
Your body does not know that you are trying to lose fat, it just wants to keep you alive. That's all.

And YES dammit, MFP is on a sluggish streak that is making me nuts. I just got fast internet a couple of days ago after years and years of slow satellite rural blah internet. Now everything works so fast. Except MFP which has decided to be snail-like. Only the community side, mind you - so it has little to do with the membership status. The other side where you track things seems to be as usual. Hmmmmph.strong_fit_ells wrote: Β»PW 236.9lbs, I think? π€
