NSV: I was able to keep up in my resistance class last night! I was worried it was going to be too hard or I was going to have to modify everything, but I was able to do all the workouts the way they were. I felt so proud of myself. I can't wait to continue seeing progress!
Great losses and steps this week, everyone. I hope everyone is having a good week so far. Almost to the weekend! (My mantra this week).
I love that NSV - well done my friend!1 -

167 total pounds down and quite a bit to go, but I am well beyond the halfway point (which is pretty friggin cool). I was definitely worried after injuring my foot that I was going to struggle to break even, so definitely taking this as the biggest win of all time.6 -
My NSV - Guess who is no longer obese! Made it to the overweight category! 😉6

Well done on fitting in your daughters jacket! Funnily enough my mother is the opposite to your daughter! When i was visiting recently she was clearing out her wardrobe and i asked if i could take some things she didn't want. She told me nothing in there would fit me!! I walked away with a new coat and a lovely jacket!
She's constantly telling me I've lost enough weight now!
I guess it's not only us who need to accept our new body images!
My mom is has criticized me all my adult life since I put the weight on. Now she tells me I am starting to look like the old Linda. I try to tell her I am the same person no matter what I weigh. It’s hard enough for me to realize this without other people telling me. She is very thin and I don’t think she realizes how hard it is to lose weight. She is not going to change at her age. My husband is the one that wants me to stop. He is terrified that I will get sick. His mom lost a lot of weight in the last year before she passed so I am wondering if that is where he is getting the fear from.
At 60 i finally realise how much impact those little comments from friends and relatives really have on our lives! My mother had been telling me for the last 28lbs that im thin enough! Why? I'm really not sure about people motives! It's taken me years to realise i have to do what's right for me and take no notice of other people!0 -

Yes! Don't let minor setbacks give you an excuse to fail! You've got this!1 -

Friday weigh in
Pw 185.2
Cw 185.2
Well after 5 days in Barcelona, walking an average of 6 miles a day and eating not one single extra thing or having an alcoholic drink my weight is exactly the same. But it's OK because i know my body and I'm expecting a drop of 1.5 or 2lb tomorrow or the next day! It always takes a few days for the loss to show up (as opposed to the gains where 5lb can appear overnight!!!)3 -
And this is what is all about! 276lb vs 186lb7 -

Weigh-in Day: Friday (Nov 10, 2023)
PW: 241.1
CW: 239.2

One of the benefits of waking up in the middle of the night means I can get an early start to the day and have plenty of time for a morning walk - I just need to bundle up as it's getting COLD here!3 -

You should be proud. That’s an amazing NSV.KarlysFreedom wrote: »Sorry, that I don't comment on here much. I try to read the comments daily or every other day.
I have a new doctor and she subscribed some new meds to help with an issue I was having. Hopefully, this will help me get back on track with losing weight.
@lindamtuck2018
Sorry, I'm late in responding back to your question.
Yes, I have support hose & wraps but they don't always stop my legs from swelling. Because, I have problems with the way my blood flows. Very slowly (poorly) which causes different problems in my legs/body.
I have venous reflux so I understand. Only have problems with my right leg. It’s painful. I can’t wear my compression stockings as my right leg still swells and I end up having to take that one off. I hope the new medication works. My NSV - Guess who is no longer obese! Made it to the overweight category! 😉
I got curious also. I am now in the overweight category. Congrats on your NSV! Thanks for making me realize I reached this milestone. I think you, me and @Slimmersixties need to have a no longer obese celebration.SW - 630

Very nice loss! As much as I don’t like hot humid weather, I am not fond of the cold either. Early fall is my favourite time of the year weather wise.@RoblinB I have to ask what is the "Christmas Challenge"?
It’s a challenge that @Slimmersixties is running. You pick a goal weight to reach by Christmas.aneedlecraft wrote: »aneedlecraft

I went for bloodwork yesterday. I can view my results online and my thyroid is low. It explains so many things. I really have been finding the cold, my skin is so dry, my hair is falling out and my mood(motivation) has been low. I am sure the doctor will call over the next few days and increase my thyroid medication. Very simple fix. Now if everything in life was that simple.
Small loss this week again but they add up. Less than 4 pounds to 💯 pounds lost. Off to do another walk!.
Happy FriYAY!

Here are some weight loss pictures from me. I really have to start taking more pictures of me as it’s hard to find any. The top is from around 6 months before I started my journey. I do not know my weight but figure it has to be around 280 to 290. The bottom left is from 11 months ago. I was 206. The bottom right is from June and I was 184.5. I am now 166 and I donated the clothes I wore in June. Time for new pictures.5

Good day!
@Slimmersixties: Wow! Oh, Wow! Oh, Wow! You look great! Thanks for sharing those pictures! They are inspiring! I agree that those comments from others, especially those close/formative to us are so impactful! (My mother is a lovely person, but I have my own sore spots!) I appreciate the reminder to move beyond.
@NachDeezy: I've got a Wow! for you, too! 167 lbs! Glad you stopped carrying that extra person around! (Really, 167 lb is easily like carrying another person everywhere you went!) I hope that seeing a loss in less than ideal circumstances this week helps affirm that "you got this!"
@lindamtuck2018 I'm glad your bloodwork showed something manageable. Big congratulations for carrying on (and losing!) even when your body was not optimized to do so. And I just saw those pics!!! More WOW!!! Thanks for sharing them.
@itladyee Your steps are awesome! Way to keep at it, even on vacation!
@heretochange88 Yes, a loss is a loss! I know it is easy to de-value those smaller losses (I can be a VERY impatient person!), but we fight for each one and they are gold. Yay for one more golden pound!
@aneedlecraft Look at you go! Congratulations on the fantastic loss! And yay for moving more!
@jimboden3 So good to see you away from your desk and out for that walk (although I hope you don't have to sacrifice sleeping!) And a loss, too! Is work finding its new groove?
@ddainiak Sorry, didn't mean to be cryptic about the Christmas challenge! Thanks, @lindamtuck2018, for the answer. Yes, the ideal range is next and you can do it!
@Megan_smartiepants1970 Soooooooo sorry to hear you are so unwell. Argh!!! Biggest air hugs possible!!!
@KarlysFreedom Welcome back! (Don't think I said that yet...) We are behind you!
@torih941 I am so happy to hear that you silenced those inner voices that make us wonder if we can do a new thing (like your resistance class)! Awesome! Looking forward to hearing about the next one!
Sorry, this was quite a lengthy post, but look at all these awesome, tenacious people we are hanging out with! Thanks for being part of my team. Together is making a difference for me.
