Didn't hold on to the loss. I'm having a demoralized day.

Good morning Shape Shifters. Not much going on here yesterday. The weather was still really bad. I wrote 3 postcards to Germany, Taiwan and India. It was sunny and raining at the same time, so it was a little hard to find a window to drop off the cards. I got a little wet, but nothing too bad. It was a pretty boring day. Happy Wednesday everyone

Wednesday weigh in
PW: 216.2
CW: 215.3
Rant under the spoiler, feel free to skip.I was so disappointed with this numbers this morning. Last week I had a 1.6 lbs loss and that was with 2 days out of 7 eating over 4000 calories. This time I ate well for 7 days in a row, and I only have this tiny, useless loss. I understand weigh loss gets harder the less you weigh, but I am still well over 200 pounds so it just pissed me off. Yesterday my weight was 215.1 and I really expected it to be down this morning; instead it went up! I hate how it can be so illogical and sometimes I just want to give up.6 -
Wednesday Weigh In
PW: 138.3
CW: 134.7
Loss: 3.6 lbs
Yay!!! I knew I was carrying some extra water weight. I'm so happy I got rid of some of it. I was super diligent with eating right and pushed my running up a notch, both in frequency and intensity. Happy, happy , happy!
I'm still looking for the 133 that I saw very briefly last month, but it should come soon. My weight has been on a rollercoaster lately, but I'm trying to reign in the craziness a bit.5 -
@pupowl I totally understand. The scale can be completely evil sometimes. Big hugs. Hang on. You’ve been doing great.4

@Pupowl In addition to what the others said, I just had a peek at the spreadsheet. You started the month at 220, you're now, just halfway through the month, at 215?! That's a great loss. Sometimes I find it helpful to take a bit of a step back to look at the bigger picture. Youre doing awesome!
Do you use a weight trend app? I use Libra, and it shows the trend that I'm on, helping me focus on the bigger picture, and not so much on the daily fluctuations. Just a thought.6 -
@SavageMrsMoose Thank you! I will keep going, just not today, lol
@CasandraW The woosh is very real! But my weight has just been moving so little this whole week. It went 216.2 - 216.4 - 216.4 - 216.0 - 216.0 - 215.1 - 215.1 - 215.3. It just feels like the woosh should have already happened. I am having a 'screw it' day today, and then back to the healthy eating again.
@Zaxa2021 Thanks, I have been doing alright, maybe it also feels worse because this is the 3rd time I am losing the same weight. It was mostly just a moment of disappointment this morning I think. I will keep going! I have a Renpho scale/app which also has trends but it doesn't look in the future. I do think weighing once a week is better for me, so I will switch to that.
Really appreciate the comments4 -

@Pupowl For me, even that one “screw it day” a week is what makes me weight drop so slowly. I finally had 1 week where I had no screw it’s all week and lost 1.5 pounds. Maybe consider a not so screw it day instead. 🤞

For people celebrating Thanksgiving come up - what's your plans? Travel? Hiking into the wilderness to isolate?
I have a new neighbor and she was showing me photos of her cats, and she had this new one that had come up. I recognized my elderly orange boy, lol, she had him dressed up in the photo with a mini-bandana around his neck. It was adorable. He's such a tubby boy though, really doesn't look like a stray except he's a little threadbare and has some health issues due to age. He's in the house 22 hours out of 24 but I guess he went to visit at some point. lol, I loved the bandana. He has thin fur so I have an electric heated blanket(s) for him and wherever he decides to sleep for the day I'll turn it on or he's on my lap. He is living a sweet retirement life! (And apparently has fans!)

Two (count 'em! TWO) Thanksgiving meals. Lunch with the in-laws at their retirement community and Dinner with my family. My mom has promised not to put on a huge meal, just concentrate on having fun spending time together, which she loves. I plan to be logging food religiously on the day of; not in real time (that might come off as a bit rude ) but definitely taking eating breaks to take stock of the calorie situation. I'm going to concentrate more on the hanging out with family and watching American football. Emphasis on the experience, not the eating!5 -
Afternoon yall.
Wednesday steps 4919.
I woke up this morning with a cold. I seen my endocrinologist yesterday and things were good. I see my primary care provider tomorrow and do labs for push. I'll see if my pcp can oder some cold meds for me.6 -
@Pupowl I feel for you with the frustration on the scales.Dont be a slave to them & eventhough I sometimes weigh daily it's not recommended as everyone knows your weight can fluctuate for all sorts of reasons.Just stick with what you're doing weigh once a week, record & track accurately & you've got this !!
I've been eating all the leftover party food this week & as I've felt so exhausted I've not even done many steps. So it's likely my good streak on the weight loss front may be coming to the end.My throat was very sore all day today so I'm off to bed with 2 paracetamol & my hot water bottle.

@daria0919 No worries, it just seemed like you didn't see my whole post I try to do well as much as I can, but sometimes I need a break from watching calories and just eat whatever I want (within reason). If you can eat perfect all the time, I am very impressed!2 -
@Armygirlarmyof1 Feel better soon!
@izzyred9400 Thank you! I think weighing once a week works better for most people. I like having the data every day, but when it starts getting to me, it is probably better to stop doing it. Hope you get some good rest and don't get sick!1
