@bearchested You asked to be excused for several weeks, so we currently have you on support. Do you want to be back to the weigh in group?
@pedal__power Oh how fun! I also really like having everything in one spot, though I still track in different places. I like the rainbow tracker because it is really clear which things are good. I hope you will keep using and enjoying your paper calendar!4 -

Could 2 different scales give me different results?
When I joined, I had just weighed myself using a digital scale at the pharmacy. Then a day or two later I tried the digital scale at home, and it got me 4 lbs heavier 😳 worst part is, when I moved the scale from one spot to another, there was like a whole pound difference lol
Is this common with digital scales? It’s a fairly new scale.

tatilove1988 wrote: »@tatilove1988 It is very common that different scales give different weight readings. It is best to just use the same one when possible. making sure the scale is on a flat and hard surface is also very important. I can only weigh in my bathroom. If I put it in the bedroom that has a softer floor, it gives me a different reading. While the gain is annoying, I would just go with your scale at home since that is the one you have most access to. We can update your starting weight so you won't immediately start off with a gain. Just let us know the new number and then weigh in again on Saturday.
Hi, thanks so much for your answer 😃. The new number is 192.4 instead of 188. It’s really odd that it’s such a big difference.
I’m wondering if I should switch to a mechanical scale. Or at the very least, get a better digital one. I hate the thought that I might be getting the wrong reading depending on where I am.
Anyway, thanks again! Happy new year 🥳
@tatilove - my thought on this is to not focus on the number from the scale. When I go to the doctor and they weigh me the number is usually higher for a few different reasons. If you have the funds for a scale, great, otherwise use the scale you own - save your money for something else. Also, it is earth friendly to keep what you own if it still does the job (in my humble opinion). I would focus more on how you feel. You could incorporate tape measurements if you're not doing that already.
Be consistent with your scale. Same spot and roughly same time of day when you step on the scale. Be aware of how you feel when you're stepping on the scale as well.
All great advice! Thank you so much

I decided I didn't want to track my food over Christmas & New Year & just enjoy eating & drinking what I want.My husband's birthday was also during this time so it extended longer than I planned. So I can take the small gain & get back on track from now on.
I wasn't well last week & ended up on antibiotics so that wasn't fun. Also my youngest son ended up in A & E on Boxing Day with cellulitis,so he was also on antibiotics ! So I sympathise with your bad week @jessicakrall8 & hope like mine that it improved.
With all this going on I also forgot to sign on for the Step Challenge.I would like to go with 14,000 steps a day & sorry for the long list.

Ouch. Not the way I wanted to start the year. Thought it was water weight, but it’s been two days in a row.5 -
Hi everyone, I’m Cindy. I live in Texas with my husband of 35 years. We have two grown children who don’t live nearby.
I had a total knee replacement last year and I’m still going to PT. I’m back to 3x week with my trainer and yesterday-I did four 1-min planks!
I dropped about 8-10 pounds after the surgery and since then I’ve gained it all back and then some. All of the habits I’ve developed over the past few years have fallen by the wayside and it shows. I decided to work on one habit at a time so I have a better chance of success. I’ve started with upping my water intake. I’m using the Water Llama app to track and it was surprising to see how much my water intake dropped off when I wasn’t being intentional.
I know I’ve been pretty scarce around here and I’m going to make an effort to show up more often. Here’s to a healthy 2024!7 -

I almost lost a pound! I did gain 3 pounds this week. Then lost it and some. I'm happy to have lost what I did. Next week will be better!7 -
Here are a few pictures of what makes it a challenge to game with Tinus. Around midday he will want laptime and then in the evening he is constantly on my desk. Blocking the screen, the mouse, sitting on the keyboard, wanting to press buttons too and even randomly swatting at things on the screen. Such a joy...
