Pav, I love the Olympics. Diving is definitely near the top of my list, then gymnastics, women's and men.

And now I’m rooting for the Oilers…. Don’t know anything about ice hockey but Nic has put the bug in my ear.
I can’t say I know much about sports in general. Back in the dark ages, when I was growing up, girls were actively discouraged from organized sports. The only outlet for athletic girls was cheerleading- and only for the extremely attractive. The rest of us participated in half-hearted gym classes designed to prepare us for the chores of housewifery. No wonder I’m such a slug!

The last 2 seasons, the team that eliminated the Oilers (Colorado in conference finals 2 years ago, Vegas in 2nd round last year) won the cup. This year, either the Oilers win the cup, or else the team that eliminates them wins the cup (Stanley Cup Finals).

You go with that thrift shopping Ms. T! If you have time to browse the bargains are incredible. A few years back I found a perfect leather Furla handbag for $5.

    Go Oilers!

Today is as good as any other day…. I found super planning wasn’t needed. Tiptoe around the foods you have on hand. Cut back a little here and there, make some low cal substitutions. Slow minor changes rather than a complete overhaul.

I know you are right Yooly, but I am a planner. So it can be really hard for me to just jump right into things like that. But I do have a plan for starting Saturday.

Do what works best for you Athijade. Usually I am a planner too. However when it comes to addictive behaviors I am a now or never person. I smoked for years but when I decided to quit I was all in. No tapering off. Same with calorie control for me. When I was “done”, I moved on.

Although I’ve not lapsed about smoking, I can’t say the same for diets. But I’m in much better control since I made up my mind to move forward.

We won't mention what happened the other night...

Can you believe lupins grow wild in Newfoundland??? The boy keeps on growing. He was surprised at how small Laine had become... He has not seen her in almost 2 years.

    An update on my goals:

    1) Drink more water - Struggling some with this because if I drink too much water, I trigger over active bladder issues. So right now I am trying to find the balance of drinking enough water vs going to the bathroom every 15 minutes.
    2) Eat at home - Struggled last week on this, but I think overall I am doing better. More and more I am making myself cook something instead of ordering delivery. Still work to do, but improvement is happening.
    3) Make my bed - Go this down most mornings, though I seem to forget on weekends haha.
    4) Keep up with my skincare routine - No problems here. My skin is looking pretty dang good
    5) Do a single small chore every day - Totally failing on this. May drop this for now and focus on the rest some more.

Jade should be glad she's not me.... cause I make lists and then don't look at them again till the next time I make lists and discover that half the stuff is still undone! ... which sort of partially defeats the whole point of making the list in the first place!

PAV- where have you been all weekend? Missing Laurie too.

List making - one my favorite activities which was inherited by son. Hubby is much like you. Loses the list I make for him within ten minutes of entering a grocery store. Never makes lists and then scrambles when deadlines or appointments seemingly appear before him. The calendar is always a mystery and never ending source of surprises.

Probably a symptom of having “staff” or assistants hubby’s entire working life. I’ve emphatically refused to play that game. Cause marriage is an equal responsibility.

Hello all!!!! Complete chaos here. Thank goodness for the boys and the pups that make me happy no matter.
House didn't close on Friday when it was supposed to... Apparently somebody (vendors lawyer) didn't have a list or didn't follow it 😆 Went to see the house on Saturday and the roof is leaking ... The vendor is at a work camp somewhere in North Alberta ... And It's raining goats and sheep here (A few levels beyond cats and dogs).

Yooly - I need you to come here and take control!

The update might take me another week or so or so, PAV.

Oy Laurie- I doubt I would be much help with your home closing problems. However I’d be willing to hold your hand and remind you that you’ve handled worse than this. It will all work itself out in time.
