Wow, it looks like every weigh-in has been a loss this week 🤩. Keep up the good work, everyone!
Personally, I think it’s more important to keep showing up and building healthier habits, so I don’t believe in basing success solely on the weigh-in, but our team is very impressive so far! 😊 The scale will go up and down in the short-term but the long-term improvement will show over time if we follow our plans!
Still, I felt motivated seeing everyone’s loss this week! I have my annual physical in April and I’d love to weigh in at a ‘normal’ BMI. That will be a difficult goal to reach but I’m going to try.
There were more people at the gym than usual today and I wasn’t sure if it was because it was a bit rainy or if the warmer weather is drawing people out of their houses. So, that made me wonder — What’s motivating you these days?3 -
Happy Thursday!!!!! It's my weekend, thank goodness. It was a crazy week at work. I work with dementia patients and some crazy energy musta been in the atmosphere because they were rough this week. Then my drainage pipes froze on those really cold days, so everytime I do laundry it backs up, ugh. So I spent the day rigging something up to make it run out back until my pipes drain haha. But I did get a really great workout in this morning. 30 minutes on the spin bike, 50 minutes weights, 20 minutes incline walk on the treadmill.5

Day two of working on eliminating processed sugar from my diet and no snacking after dinner. I’m really hopeful this will give my weight loss journey a kick in the pants, but even more importantly, I’m hopeful this will improve my sleep, which hasn’t been good. Looking back at my habits, I really couldn’t believe how much sugar I was consuming at night. I was also surprised when I started researching how sugar negatively impacts your sleep. So I’m hopeful that the results will be worth it, and I feel confident I can keep it going.4 -

My weight has been much lower in the last few days, but I'm up a bit now due to PMS I think. I'm sure it'll come back down soon.4 -

A little too much comfort food combined with sitting around. I "think" I'm on the mend though and hoping that as the temperatures increase, along with the increase in daylight hours, I'll get more movement in. Both of those things are happening too slowly for my taste but I know it won't be long now.4 -
Please excuse me from this week's Weigh In- I didn't see it marked - I'm finally feeling OK and can halfway function - just tired from fighting with my head5

Finally some movement on the scale. Not bad considering I went out to eat twice this week. But I took leftovers bothe times. First was outback, I had fettuccine with chicken and shrimp, I had for dinner then lunch. Then I went for hibachi with coworkers. They gave me so much I had it for dinner then my husband and I split what was left for lunch the next day.6 -

Thanks for all your work to set up the monthly habit trackers @lauren_989!
I’m looking forward to using it this month to build better habits. Yesterday, I posed a question to the team about what motivates us. To me, habits are far more powerful than motivation because we don’t need as much momentum to get started.
Motivation gets us started but habits sustain the effort and make it easier to maintain energy over the longterm! Thanks again to all the group organizers, moderators, team leaders and motivators who set up the environment for success and make it easier for us to achieve or sustain our goals. 🙏🏼6 -

Great job, @angmarie28! I hope it warms up soon so you don’t have any more trouble with your pipes. With the more active pipes, I know we can drip water to keep them from freezing, but I never thought about the ice dam that could cause problems in the drainage pipes. As my husband and I often ask/say: “Happy 🤬🤬🤬 home owner, huh?!” 😩 Hang in there!
There’s nothing worse than having a family amount of laundry - with sport team uniforms and things that need to be washed by a certain time - and a broken appliance! It’s hard enough to finish all the tasks in a day with children, etc. I was very impressed that you were able to rig your own drainage system — 💪!
When I was the president of the parent-teacher association at my sons’ school, I tried to set up a program with the local laundromat to offer tutoring to benefit the children who were bored while their parents were trying to get the laundry done. That didn’t work but we were able to buy a washer and dryer for the special education program because the students sometimes needed to clean their clothes. So, the parent liaison could offer occasional support to families, too. I still think it would be good to create partnerships with the community so schools don’t have to carry all the responsibilities of wrap around services and can focus on learning. Now that so many of the federal education funding for children in poverty and those with disabilities is being cut, it might be worth revisiting. I’m meeting with my friend who is the parent liaison next week so I’ll see what she needs then! We’ll, that became a tangent — sorry! 😬
Take care, everyone!

Right now, my running goals are motivating me. I have a 5k race on St Patrick's Day that I'm trying to run under 28 minutes (I can almost do it, it's going to be close for sure) and I'm playing with the idea of a half marathon towards the end of the year. My diet plays a big role in how my runs go and it's easier to run at a lower weight. So that's what's keeping me focused at the moment.

@PatriceFitnessPal I'm over the draining pipes over flowing, but the temp fix I have seems to be working for now. It's frustrating because now it's 50 to 60 degrees out but 31 inches of snow has kept the ground insulated so it still hasn't thawed, ugh. But most the snow is now gone, so hoping it isn't long now.4

@PatriceFitnessPal thank you for all you do. From taking care of family members to things for your community, and you still find time for you. Hats off to you girl.💕3

What motivates me? Different things at different times. Currently it's getting ready for the Bike the Borroughs ride in NYC in May. It's 40 miles through the streets of NY hitting all 5 borroughs. It's been a few years since I've ridden more than 20 miles so need to prepare.
There's a lesson in there, never reply to group texts while drinking wine 🍷 and playing exploding kittens. 🤣🤣4 -

I missed last week weigh in due to being in the hospital. I had a dangerously enlarged heart. I have to weigh myself every day because of this issue. If I gain 3 pounds in one day or 5 pounds in one week I have to go to the ER. I gained almost 5 pounds in a few days so I went to the ER and they admitted me. I got out yesterday.11 -
Missing weigh ins this week. Please check in asap.

@izzyred9400 I saw you were sick and you haven't posted in a bit. Hope you are okay.
Nevermind, saw you posted in the March thread, sorry.1 -
Thank you for the nice comment @DaffyGirl88. I’m definitely a work in progress seeking life balance so your encouragement really helps!
The Bike the Burroughs race sounds so fun. I’ve never entered a bike race, and the crashes scare me a bit, but that sounds like a great way to see NYC! I’m sure you’ll do well but just hearing about you entering the race is motivating for me. Thanks for sharing your current motivation.
You, too @Zaxa2021 - That’s a great race time! A St. Patrick’s Day 5k sounds so fun, too. Good for you! I love these ideas 😊
@p8m6bwghh9 - Impressive steps!
@angmarie28 - Spring is in sight! Hang in there.
@LaurieWrobo - I’m sorry you suffered for so many days with migraines. Earlier this week, I had a migraine for the first time in a long time. It didn’t last long so I was so relieved. I experienced migraines for about 35-40 years, but I’ve been much better the past few years. The medicine has improved a lot since the early days. I had almost given up but then a new doctor really helped me experiment with different options. I was able to find one that worked quite well if I took the medicine as soon as I felt a migraine coming on — I hope you can find relief!
Nice losses @bearchested and @indoorsy_ and best wishes for the current week @CasandraW.
@alleykat69 - That sounds scary. I’m glad you were able to get to the hospital quickly and recover!
I’m heading to a personal trainer appointment soon and doing well with my nutrition so far this week so I hope I can maintain the momentum. I hope you all enjoy the weekend — Go Shape Shifters!3 -
