    Oops! If I had known I was so close to my daily step goal, I would have walked around the house a bit. I’ll make up the difference today.

    Another new experience since moving to Alaska! We are currently under a volcano watch for Mt Spurr which is about 100 miles from us (as the crow flies). I guess depending on the weather/winds ash might become a problem. We have taken the recommended steps to be prepared, now it’s just wait and see what happens.

    @PatriceFitnessPal

    Am I correct in assuming you meant:

    (3/22: 4,645)
    3/23: 8,240

    PatriceFitnessPal Posts: 1,525 Member

    Yes, @frankwbrown. That’s correct. Thank you for catching my typo! I had 8,240 steps on Sunday, 3/23.

    Thanks, @Zaxa2021 ! I was really surprised. I wish I could say I deserved it, but mostly I've been a lump. I'm just trying to move away from eating my emotions, with mixed success. Like @sunshinezombiegirl1 , I've been trying to add more protein in my diet, though I admit I am cheating and using low cal, low sugar protein shakes to help with that. When I was sick, I was living on processed carbs, and besides being bad for me, I think they made me swell up a few pounds. I didn't realize that was possible, but I have no other logical explanation.

    @morenin - I have trouble getting enough protein, too. You’re right about the extra water that comes with eating carbs. I’ve heard that for every gram of carbs (or the glycogen that is produced by the carbs) adds 3-4 grams of water. It’s not realistic for me to give up carbs longterm but I’d like to cut out as many processed carbs as possible. I’m glad you’re feeling better. 👍

    Busy week at work. Half my coworkers are sick so I picked up a few shifts and stayed late everyday. Been picking my kids up from work every night around 130am, so I haven't been getting up to workout because I need at least 5 hours of sleep. In turn my diet has not been great because if been stress eating. Bleck. Fortunately my coworker offered to take my shift tomorrow, so I can have a long weekend. Going to spend the next couple days working out, grooming my dogs (Newfoundlands) that desperately need it, and getting myself refocused on my weightloss.
