😀 No rain here so I dutifully prowl around with my hose every other day. I have wonderful lightweight metal hoses that are easy to use and easy to loop up next to the faucet when finished.
😀 Groomer was here yesterday. The girls are bathed. Bessie's few spots of unruly fur are trimmed and Annie's nails are short again. It's expensive and worth every dollar. I give her a big tip.
😀 Today Annie goes to the vet for her yearly visit. I haven't taken her by myself and I hope she'll be mellow on her leash with me in the waiting room.
😥 Sandy, how disappointing to have the pool open and the weather not cooperative. Good luck at T Mobile.
😀 Jackie, glad George has his procedure scheduled.
😀 Lin, I've seen photos of someone's hike along Hadrian's Wall but a video would be even more interesting. I like to watch YouTube videos of places that I'd like to see but are too far away.
😀 I called yesterday to make an appointment to have the chimney and wood stove inspected and cleaned ahead of fireplace season and he said he'd be here this afternoon. How surprising to call for an appointment and have it set for the next day.
😀 My friend who just got back from a cruise through the Northwest Passage from Nome to Greenland is coming for a walk this morning. It will be a busy day.

Happy Thursday! John and Laurie leave at 10:30 to go to the Brewers Game in Wisconsin. They are staying there (in a hotel) until Saturday morning. They will stop by Saturday on their way home to pick up her sewing machine. I am going to my meeting and one errand.
Barbie, nice feeling when the pets are groomed, they always look so good. Yes, unusual to get an appointment that fast you must be ahead of the game.
Lin, we got rain but not much so I know what you mean. PJ Changs is a good restaurant but we enjoyed Seasons 52 much better last night. A nice celebration for both their birthdays.
Jackie, sorry about the rain especially when I know how much you love being outside. Wet walks don't sound like fun at all. Congratulations to your nephew and his fiancé.
Have a good day all and stay healthy.

I managed to dodge the showers walking round the block. A man I often see riding his horse on this route, called out wasn’t it lovely to be enjoying sunshine and how long did I think we had. Ten minutes if we’re lucky was my response and I wasn't far off! My friend Linda then collected me and we drove to one of our favourite coffee shops on a farm about 15 minutes away. It was very busy with mostly ladies of a certain age enjoying the freedom of retirement and we chatted for a couple of hours. We usually exchange something or the other and today I received a jar of blackcurrant jam and 2 more bags of chopped up wood for my fire and Linda has taken an antique bowl, big enough to position in her garden as a bird bath. My father rescued it from a neighbour when about 40 years ago, her gardener found it in her shed with matching jug and was breaking them up for crocks! Too late for the jug but the bowl was given to me and now passed on again!
I trust Annie behaved herself at the vet’s Barbie. You have reminded me I need to phone the smithy about a replacement glass in my stove’s door.No pool today Sandy?
Lin, Hadrian’s wall offers a wonderful walk if energetic enough! Those Roman soldiers must have been so uncomfortable and cold living in northern England, having been brought over from a sunny Mediterranean country! Very little protection from freezing wind and snow, never mind marauding Scots warriors!I will make myself a cup of tea then load my car with recycling materials to drop at the end of our track for very early collection.
Happy Thursday

😀 It was a stressful day for the dogs and me. Annie had her annual wellness exam with the vet. We got there on time but they were behind schedule and we waited for 30 minutes. Annie did much better than I expected sharing the waiting room with a standard poodle, a small lap dog, and a cat. She was nervous with the vet, growled quietly at her, and wouldn't even take treats from her. Then the vet figured out that Annie was being protective of me and slipped a leash over her head, led her out of the room and was able to do the exam and vaccines in another room and when they came back, Annie was fine and took several treats from the vet's hand. Later the men came to clean the woodstove and the chimney. The noises of the vacuum and people on the roof and in the house made both dogs nervous so I sat on the couch with Annie next to me and Bessie on the carpet near us. They came in the house several times and had to return later with some extra parts to make the chimney safer. We were all exhausted when they left. Fortunately we don't have to do any of that again for a year.
😀 About mailing human remains (ashes). I looked online and found out that USPS is the only way you can send them, so there was no question about what to do. Thus I found it funny that the agent I talked to said, "Thank you for choosing the US Postal Service" since it was the only choice I had. It will take the required box and packing materials seven to ten days to get here but there's no hurry. It took six months for Larissa to come up here and divide the ashes for herself, her brother, and her niece and it took Ashley two months to send me her new address.

Happy Friday! Laundry is going and it is too cool to go to pool at 67. I think the pool days are over for this year and they will be missed. Tonight we are going to Bonefish Grill for dinner and then to an Improv to listen to a comedian. Chery and Cathy have lots of gift cards for the restaurant and I have a coupon to buy one dinner and get one free. They both had won free tickets to the Improv so we just have to have a two drink minimum which can be a soft drink. It should be fun and I invited Sharon, my friend from the pool to join us.
Barbie, sorry if I was being too nosey about the ashes. I am glad there was a way to get them to the people who wanted them. I presume you kept some for yourself as well. PoolrAnnie but all turned out well except for the fireplace cleaners which was stressful for all of you. I hope today is a more restful day.
Jackie, how nice of you to pass on your fathers bowl but Linda must appreciate your kindness.
Lin, hope to hear from you later.
Have a good day all, I hope the sun is shining in your area.

😀 Sandy, you are never being too nosy. I never know how much people know about things so if I leave something out, I welcome getting a question. Yes, I kept some of the ashes for myself. Larissa put some of the ashes into two small containers that she'd bought for Ashely and John, put her share in wooden container that was the original one for the ashes for Shilo, Jake's beloved Golden Retriever who died in 2007, and left the rest in the original container for me. Someday I'll spread Jake's ashes mixed with Shilo's ashes or maybe I'll save them for Larissa after I die. Right now the ashes are in the safe with my will and some other important papers.
😀I gave Annie a new toy that looked like a raccoon. She played with it while Sharron and I danced. By the time Sharron left, Annie had pulled both squeakers out of the toy and chewed them up so they don't squeak. This afternoon she brought the toy outside and left it in one of the flower beds.

Hello. Yesterday was a day of connection and app problems. Instagram, Zoom, and MFP all were odd and dysfunctional. MFP showed my profile but would not let me get to this group. I was to login again but it would not recognize my user ID and password. I seemed to have been logged in, came to up group and said I didn’t have time to write a long post and added a teapot. I hit the button to post. It seemed to be okay but this morning nothing was there. My Zoom classes stopped connecting late in the afternoon. Instagram stopped loading properly for my iPad.
I hope that’s it for now.
Sandy, it sounds as if you had a good week with the kids. Enjoy the evening. I am doing a bit of laundry this afternoon too.
Barbie, I am sorry you had a stressful day. I am glad it is over.
Jackie, not only was the video interesting but I knew nothing about Robson Green as I only have seen him on Grantchester. I found out he sang in a duo and my goodness, he had a nice tenor voice. Your visit sounds lovely—so much can be discussed in a couple of hours.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Happy Saturday. It is very breezy but warm so washing on my rotary will be dry in no time. It is apparently our last dry day for some time so I am doing my best to finish garden chores. I took George on to the moors for half an hour and on the way back to the car park had an interesting conversation with a family who had been collecting crystals and came across a large area that had recently been dug out about 6’ deep. They weren’t local so I told them about an Australian mining company that is currently searching for lithium that is known to be in the ground on our moorland. One day it will be mined for batteries and our peace will be shattered but hopefully not in my lifetime!
Sandy, sounds like you were in for a fun night and hope you all had a great time.
Barbie, Annie has a very understanding vet so hopefully each visit will become easier.
Lin, have you ever watched the British drama Wire in the Blood? Robson Green played a rather dark psychologist but it was fun too. It seems I have an apple sauce dish to match yesterday’s teapot! It is from a pottery based in Torquay, Devon which isn’t far from me!
My laundry is going to take off so I must check if it’s dry.
Take care
Jackie 🥰

Hello, sunny but chilly today. Fall hasn’t drives on the calendar but we are having a taste of. It for sure.
Jackie, I have never watched any of that show, Wire in the Blood. I guess I just had an idea that it was frightening. I set an episode to stream a while ago. Yes, it scares the me for sure. Incredibly twisted people. Robson plays a psychologist but a very strange one! Did you watch it regularly. I like the apple sauce dish
I spoke with a friend last evening. We hadn’t spoken for a number of weeks. Oh my gosh, it was a lively conversation that lasted about an hour and a half. It was nice to catch up.
Sandy, glad you had a good time!
Barbie, how is your weekend going? Hello Annie.
Be happy.

😀 I started thinning my fancy front yard iris patch so I could give some to two friends. I'll finish pulling the rest of the them another day and then keep them separate from the ordinary ones in two other patches. One of the many great things about iris is that don't have to be planted deep so they are easy to pull up and replant. Annie was in the garage with me while I separated clumps of iris and helped by making a bit of a mess. It was easily cleaned with broom and dustpan.
🎵 I started making plans today with a line dancer in my neighbourhood for a line dance session for the two of us at the clubhouse.

Happy Sunday! Last day of pool but it is too cold for me at 60 degrees F. I will just say in an relax today and ride my bike. I need a day to myself.
Barbie, I love that all of you are into gardening, me not so much. I did buy a big mum plant from my church yesterday to put on the table on my balcony. Annie was just trying to help, funny girl. Are you going to be teaching in the clubhouse?
Lin, we are also into fall weather but of course this coming week when the pool is closed it is supposed to get to 80. It would be nice if they left it open another week but I doubt it.
Jackie, you have some interesting stories on the other side of the pond.
Have a great day and enjoy the good weather while you can.

😀 Sandy, If I did all the social things you did, I've have no time or interest in yard work. We bought the house I'm in now when the yard in the last house got to be too much to handle. The line dancing in the clubhouse will just be the one friend and me. it will be just like the dancing I do at home with my dog walking friend but not in my house or hers. We are texting about what dances to do and won't start for a few weeks because she is involved in projects around her house. I don't know if we'll invite my dog walking friend to join us.
😀 TV, I watch a lot of mysteries mostly set in the UK. I'm also reading another DCI Banks book set in Yorkshire. Another TV show I watch is "Escape to the Country" where city people are looking to buy a house that looks like one of the houses on the TV shows I'm watching. Nothing scary for me.

Hello, Zoom classes today, some reading and that’s about all. Getting a few things together to call a bank to start the process of moving my last IRA. Need some information for the receiving bank yo use in facilitating the transfer.
Barbie I used to adore tall bearded Iris and had quite a few in my garden on the farm. Outstanding plants. And so many colors. Fantastic.
Sandy, some time to yourself. Yippee!
Jackie, I love British programming but I can only watch what I have for free. Cannot spend on multiple monthly subscriptions at this point. Plenty to watch but it can be frustrating to only have access to a few episodes or one season. I aways find something to watch. Tonight is a PBS evening. I don’t seem to get addicted to shows now. If I miss some, not a big deal. How is your weather now?
Be safe everyone.

Happy Monday! Chilly morning but supposed to warm up. I am going to let Cheryl and Marisa's dog out at noon and then later taking Robby to his karate class and the young ones will either go with me or with their parents while they play volleyball.
Nothing else going on so I wish you a good day.

Hi, it’s been a busy day. All mundane stuff but nice to get a few things accomplished.
A box in my closet slid off the stack and whacked me in the back. Sort of painful. I think I will curl up with a nice heating pad.
Hope everyone is well.

Happy Tuesday! A stay at home day for me and I am thinking of cleaning out my garage. I will let you know if I actually do it. lol
Not much else going on just spent some time disputing a charge that I must have accidently clicked for Amazon music. I had a good agent who helped cancel the subscription and give me a refund. I left him a nice review.
Have a good day no matter what you are doing.

Me again. Another day of chores and paperwork. I need to do some cooking soon. They thought we would get rain but that didn’t happen. Too dry to pull weeds. Although that is a dreaded chore.
Sandy? Wow, you got a live agent? That’s great. It takes me next to forever to get a live breathing customer service rep, I am usually stuck with bots…..that does not thrill me.
Jackie and Barbie, hope all is well. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Watching the Live YouTube program now.

🌻🎶 I successfully took the car to the Toyota dealer for the computer upgrade. It was easy and the people's were nice. Annie was left home for more than two hours. She greeted me like the videos of the dogs greeting their owner home again after two years away at war 🐾🌻

Good morning, although it’s not really with low cloud and rain! If this weather continues I will be switching to my Winter porridge for breakfast! I did manage a dry walk yesterday between showers but once we were home it was a stay in sort of day so housework! Much the same today as I continue to clear drawers full of old documents and letters. Seeing how well Barbie did with arranging to get her wood stove and chimney cleaned, I phoned the village blacksmith and made an appointment for next Tuesday to clean my two chimneys and replace glass in the multi fuel stove door. That leaves seeking estimates for work to tidy boundary hedges in October.
George’s procedures at the vet are tomorrow morning when I drop him off at 08:30 after a short walk. No food after midnight which isn’t a problem but he will miss his morning treats!
I am finding as I get older, I don’t enjoy dark dramas anymore so if trailers look even slightly creepy I don’t bother. Similar aged friends say the same and I’m sure if Wire in the Blood was produced today I wouldn’t go near it but 20 years ago we found the psychology fascinating. Too much going on in the real world now!!
Lin, I cancelled Netflix after lockdown because there were too many disturbing documentaries and dramas were much the same. I don’t miss any of it plus the cost was increasing but not the quality!
The rain is getting heavier so while George snoozes I won’t disturb him to walk anywhere.
Happy Wednesday.
Stay safe. Jackie 🥰

😀 Jackie, that video was hilarious and put Annie's antics in perspective for me. Right now she is under the table in front of my feet happily chewing on one of her older toys. Best wishes to George on his procedure.
😀 TV, I just heard about something on Netflix that I would enjoy but decided that I have enough to watch without adding another service to pay for. I have Amazon Prime, Acorn, Brit Box, and PBS Masterpiece. You Tube is free and I watch a lot of music and travel videos along with highlights of the Seattle Mariners baseball games and Jeopardy. I don't have time for more.
😀 On You Tube, I recently heard a song that I liked a lot that was new to me so I found several versions of the same song by different singers and groups and made a playlist of all them to listen to again and again.
😀 Son, John, called yesterday to say that he'd been approved for time off from his job so he and his new wife, Andrea, could come up here on September 19 and stay a few days. They have reservations at an airbnb so we all will have our privacy. He reminded me to have a list of chores for him to do when he's here.

Happy Wednesday! A beautiful day with sunshine and temps in the 70's. I am meeting friends for an early dinner and probably some gambling. I did nothing yesterday and in fact stayed in my pajamas all day being lazy. lol We are trying to plan a cruise in February or March so I spent a lot of time on the computer.
Barbie, I agree the video is hysterical. Annie is not too bad chewing toys and remotes. lol Have a wonderful time with your son and bonus on the repairs. My SIL does repairs when he visits but he doesn't come often enough. lol
Jackie, I get Netflix for free with ads but I pay $11 with no ads because I hate ads. I have several shows I watch on Netflix besides movies. My kids let me use some of their streaming services which saves me money.
Lynn, I got a live agent because I use the Prime Store Card for purchases. I have their number on the back of my credit card so it is not like going through Amazon's service.
Time is getting away from me. Have a good day.

Hello, I watched that video. Hilarious! 😂🤣😂🤣
Sandy, I did sign up for one of those cards. I have seen several complaints about them. Glad you are having a good experience with it. And I hope you are enjoying yourself this evening.Barbie, great to hear the trip to the dealership went well. Wahoo! I called today and made an appointment to gave my car serviced for winter and to have the spark plugs replaced. If the technician sees anything else iffy, they will call immediately because they get to sell more service!
Jackie, I hope all goes well with George’s procedures tomorrow. 🤞🏻🤞🏻Good for getting some services scheduled.
Take care my friends

Happy Thursday! Meeting day. Another beautiful day weather wise. Had a great time with my friends at dinner and then we did some slot machines. I lost a little but not much, but had fun.
Lin, I have both a Visa Amazon Card and the Amazon Store Card. I have had no issues with the Amazon Store Card, it is like any other credit card but I think it gives me more perks, not sure. I should probably get an oil change before winter but I still have 40% oil life. Will probably do that in October. I just hate when they find a million other things to fix which I probably don't need.
Have great day ladies.

Almost Friday and about to go to bed. It has been a long day and dear George went from a happy dog running on the moors first thing to now, a sad little pooch feeling sorry for himself. The cyst has been removed and the area covered in a protective gauze. I have put a knitted vest on him, as much to keep warm as stop him scratching, and he has slept for a couple of hours this evening. He also had 7 loose teeth extracted so has a sore, dribbling mouth and that’s putting him off eating but I’m hoping he will bounce back in the morning.
Take care and stay safeJackie 🥰

Happy Friday! Poor George, not only surgery but teeth removed. He deserves some extra loving today. 7 teeth is a lot of teeth to remove. I guess he will be eating soft food from now on. Give him an extra hug from me.
Not much going on just doing laundry and playing catch up on my computer.
Have a great day.

It has been a day of keeping an eye on George but he is slowly recovering and painkillers are helping. Heavy rain showers kept us in first thing but as soon as the weather settled I took George in the car to an area he could walk quietly. He hadn’t t drunk any water since his operation at that point, nor eaten, so I thought some fresh air and exercise would help. It did and he eat some cooked chicken and is drinking water, thank goodness. The extracted teeth had been loose rather than rotten and a chart I was given shows there were also 5 missing that must have fallen out so I’m sure his mouth must have been sore. He is 13 so an age thing!
We have a post op visit with a nurse tomorrow then, if it is dry, I will take him on the moors.Happy Friday.

Happy Saturday! We had some rain during the night but sun is coming out now and supposed to get to 79 degrees F. I have my family zoom call and then Church later. Nothing exciting as of yet.
Jackie, glad George ate and drank something, he must be feeling a little better. So poor dog doesn't have many teeth left, did he lose his front teeth as well? I hope he continues to improve every day.
