    did this! thanks!
  • You've been free of cigarettes for 3 days, 17 hours, 14 minutes & 37 seconds

You have not smoked 74 cigarettes since then, and you have saved a total of $20.64.

I quit the last 2 winters, but as soon as it got nice out, I'd be outside doing yardwork and start smoking again. :-(
The 10 to 20 pounds I gained over the winter just fell off. So this time I am going quit with the help of MFP. If I can just maintain my weight without gaining, I think it will be easier to resist that 1st cigarette.
  • I smoked for 20 years. At least a pack a day, every day. For 2o years. I finally stopped about 2 months ago and have absolutely no desire to pick one up again. I can breath again.
  • have you all stopped naturally? I stopped in April for about 5 months but started again and back to 20 a day, I hate it and got to stop but have tried so many things and can't stop forever.....

I gradually stopped. When I decided to quit I had two packs left and said that was it. I weaned myself by smoking less and less each day. There are prescription pills as well.
  • Great job, everyone!

I started my quit with Chantix but had missed a few times and thought I could stay quit without taking it, so I only took it for 30 days.

    My stats:
I have now stopped smoking for 6 months, 4 weeks, 2 days, 20 hours, 8 minutes, 33 seconds. That translates into 2,979 cigarettes NOT smoked, for a savings of $595.95!

I can't believe it's almost 3,000 cigarettes not smoked. Wow!

    Keep up the hard work!

Hang in there and keep trying. I believe it's a mindset......and if I get cravings, I'm going to exercise instead, knowing it's the right choice. This group will help......

Ok, I just signed up with quitnet.com. You have no choice but to choose a "medication" so I said nicotine gum, but I don't want anything. I'm in shock that it says I will save $1779.38 per year.
