    Right now, reading Pandora's Star, by Peter F Hamilton. Great sci-fi set in the future. It's got action, sex, aliens. But no sex with aliens, thankfully haha.
    It's a good book, I've read it before. There's a sequel, Judas Unchained, thats next on my list.

    The Xanth series, by Piers Anthony. My girlfriend has the whole series, and I read the first book (A Spell for Chameleon) in a day. I'm on book two: The Source of Magic. They're a fun read; fantasy with magic and dragons and centaurs... I love it. :)

    I've not tried those yet, but want to.
    I read all of his Incarnations of Immortality series, which I thought was brilliant. The way the books all interlink is great.

    I just started The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I downloaded the sample on my Nook. I'm undecided whether I'm going to buy the full version or not.

    I'm reading _The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency_ series by Alexander McCall Smith. I'm on the 10th book. It's entertaining, light reading.

    I'm reading Shatter the Bones by Stuart Macbride - Another crime writer, set in Aberdeen, Scotland - very well written and descriptive - I really don't want to stop reading it!!

    I am reading Zero Day by David Baldacci, just finished Belong to Me by Marisa de los Santos.

    How is Zero Day? Isn't that a new series or a stand alone? I read all his Camel Club, Maxwell & King stuff but haven't looked to closely at this one yet.

    I just finished Catch Me by Tess Gerritsen, which comes out on Tuesday - love all her books. I'm listening to CJ Box's Free Fire. And currently I'm trying to catch up on my stack of magazines before picking up another book.

    I don't know if you have already read it but another book which I read a few months back that in a round about way led me to the Jon Ronson one is Paranormality: Why We See What Isn't There by Richard Wiseman ---- very very very interesting.

    Also reading an older edition of Contemporary Nutrition.

    I love it!!! I have been laughing all the way through. I can't wait to start the program. :love: :laugh:

    I am about 1/4 of the way into A Game of Thrones, but I put it aside for now until I finish the child rearing book.

    I don't know why, but the Heku series by T.M. Nielsen has grabbed my attention for the past week now. I'm on book 3, Encala. The series is extremely fast-paced with the characters...meaning...they're given almost no time to develop, and they transition way too easily between scenes. The Twilight undertones are blatantly obvious (the Heku are just vampires, but they claim they aren't; the whole love triangle deal with the main female character; the main female character attracts all the vampires, etc.). As corny and annoying as it is, I can't put these books down. :laugh:

    Just finished Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close -
    and saw the movie. The book was very good, the movie was OK, but did not really follow the book, and it was one of those super quiet movies at most times and I had to make sure not to make alot of noise crackling my popcorn bag. The lady behind us bawled through the whole thing, so I timed by bites to her sobs.
    So my recommendation - read the book.

    I have read the first one and loved it. It is my daughters set book at school at the moment, so may read it again and then go on with the rest of the series.

    Grew up on that series...loved it 'til book 8. Wizard's First Rule is one of the best, though. :)

    I am currently (and finally!) reading Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and loving every page of it.

    If anyone has any similar book recommendations for me to dig into, I'm all ears :wink: (Although I'll probably end up reading all 10+ books in this series first :laugh: )
    I started Uglies by Scott Westerfield yesterday. Not something I would normally choose, but I joined a Goodreads Bookclub and it is one of this months books. Really enjoying it so far...

    Love Uglies! I randomly picked it up one day at the book store at least 5 years ago based on the cover, and ended up addicted to the whole series. Scott Westerfeld is possibly my favorite YA writer (sorry, Francesca Lia Block... I know, I know. My adult self has betrayed you).

    I just started Hood by Stephen Lawhead (first of the King raven series about Robin Hood). I enjoy his books and love Robin Hood so this should be good too...
