Good Skeptic/Science Sites - For Health and Otherwise
I only have a few sites I visit regularly, so I welcome any additional links. The sites are not in any particular order. NOTE: HTML doesn't seem to work here, but I will make the links clickable if I can figure out how. The Skeptic's Dictionary http://skepdic.com A great place to start if you are new to skepticism.…

Funniest Fad Diets, 'Tips and Exercise routines
Hi, This group sounds like a great place to vent on all the stupid stuff that get says about weight loss/gain and diets. Looks like it does need a little revival, so though I would start this thread and see what interestingly DUMB diets are still getting circulated out there - if only to make me feel just a bit better…
Cincinnati Ghost Tour Experience
So my partner bought us tickets through Groupon to go on the Cincinnati Ghost Tour, which right away I kind of rolled my eyes at and figured it'd be fun if nothing else. We're both pretty hardcore skeptics and atheists but figured we could have a few drinks and take this tour and get a good laugh or 2. So the tour went…
Hi everyone
Just popping in to say hi. This group looks mostly dead, but this is probably the group that MFP needs most. There's so much b/s out there about nutrition that it is impossible to figure out what is real and what isn't. Lets kick this group into gear, eh?
Come out, come out, wherever you are!
Hi skeptics. Minx On a Stick has launched this discussion group for a reason which I fully support: Let skeptics come out as doubters, as people who think the Latest Easy Diet-Weight-Loss-Super-Fat-Blast-Exercise-Program is garbage. Let us come out as people who know eating moderately and eating well and doing sweaty…
She's herding cats!
Hi. Great idea starting this group--thanks. I don't typically join groups, have been using MFP since the end of January and have found the tools enough to support my efforts to get fit again. Didn't even bother putting up a profile or photo since I was using the site to do my own thing. It seems we skeptics often rely on…
Protein - How much is too Much
Every site I'm inclined to take notice of seem to recommend around 15% protein : 45% to 65 % Carbs : 25% to 35% fat. IIRC MFP set mine at 15%, 55% and 30% respectively. These values I suspect are on the assumption, correct in my case, that many engage in little or no exercise. Whenever the subject is raised on MFP most…
Reading Nutritional Studies, with Homer Simpson as Your Host
"People can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. Forfty percent of all people know that." - Homer Simpson From gnolls.org: "Always Be Skeptical Of Nutrition Headlines: Or, What 'Red Meat Consumption and Mortality' (Pan et.al.) Really Tells Us" http://tinyurl.com/88znusr I thought this was a well done (ha!)…
