Hello - starting again
Hello - my name is Cindy and I live in the Seattle area. I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for several years to help me track my calories and activities. I’ve always lost weight (and regained it) on my own. This is my first time joining a support group. My yoga studio and gym are closed. I’m feeling a bit isolated, so I’m…

Calm app
Several members have said they are using Calm. I downloaded the app and didn't realize you have to pay for it after the free 7 days. I'm ok with paying but was going to wait before logging in my cc info. Then I checked my spam folder.. and there was an offer for 40% off your first year. Just an fyi if you are interested in…

Hello a newbie here, looking for ideas
Hi, i am new to MFP, my doctor suggested it for me to help track my food, and give me some ways to see my progress. I have set some small goals, 20 pounds right now so I am not overwhelmed by the big picture. Any ideas you have that are helpful... i would love to hear them. I am happy to join this group. I wish you all a…

Favorite way to burn calories?
I like a lot of different things. I love my bike and ride nearly year round (I live in Chicago) unless there is snow on the ground or it's super cold - under 32 degrees, but I don't burn a ton of calories doing that as I don't go that far most days. But it brings me joy. I also enjoy walking if I'm with someone. Currently…

pulled muscle
Hi all.. you can tell I’m in the over 50 group.. pulled a back muscle getting out of bed. Not extreme but not strong enough to do major exercises like deadlifts. Taking it easy, no workouts and trying hard not to drown my sorrows by eating. Just needed to vent some of my self-pity 😕

50 in March
Finding it harder and harder to lose weight. Finding it easier and easier to pack on weight!! Ugh. Have about 50 pounds to lose. Looking for support and motivation.

Living in the past
I find myself saying "I used to... be fat, be fit, have successful career, be adventurous" The list goes on and on. They reflect both positive and negative times in my life. I'm tired of it. I'm 59, single no kids and living with a friend for both of our financial benefits. I realize I'm in a bit of a funk.. aka mildly…

50 and feeling frumpy
I have found a hugh correlation between how I eat and how I feel and look. Christmas day was an all-time low as I could only wear a baggy trousers and oversized polo shirt...am munching my way through a king size box of quality street as I write ✍ this...I am not looking to lose half my body weight but would be delighted…

what ever I think I want

Christmas dinners 🍽
If you celebrate Christmas 🎄 what are you having on the big day? I'm cooking prime rib roast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, and pumpkin pie plus one other dessert probably cookies. Yes, I'll be going over my calories that day!

Hello and thanks for letting me join!
Hello, I am here at the recommendation of my health coach. It looks like a great site and this looks like the sort of group I'd like to be part of. Thanks for letting me join. I wish everyone a good fitness journey! Carol

Holiday baking
I love baking. But I have little self control. In the past I would make up plates for family, friends and co-workers. Now with covid.. no parties or potlucks to attend. I'll hand some out to a few neighbors and drop off some (on their porch) to others. But it's a real temptation. Definitely not making as many this year.…

Meal Prep - do you do it?
Do you cook a few meals in one day, or cook every day? We make maybe 3 meals a week and have leftovers the other 3 or 4. Take out maybe once a week.

Goals for the next 3 weeks?
Only 21 days remaining in 2020. What are some goals you'd like to accomplish?

What do you do for your MENTAL health?
Looking for tips! It’s hard for me to do yoga or any meditative type activity - I find the stillness just makes my brain a bulletin board of post-it notes of “to-do’s”. I have about an hour in the morning where I have my coffee alone (before my eldercare duties begin) and about 90 min in the afternoon where i squeeze in a…

Monday FUNday!
How do start the week off in the right direction? Especially after a not so successful weekend?

Tell me something good about today!
Name a positive thing in your day. It can be MFP related or something that brought a smile to your face.

TGIF!! What's up for the weekend?
Do you work on the weekend? House stuff? Meet up with friends? Double workouts? Meal planning/prepping? What's up for this weekend?

New on here
I'm new to this group. I am going in for a revision on Dec 21. I'm going from a sleeve to a bypass. I had a sleeve in 2012. I drove to TX from Nashville for the surgery. I had no post treatment or anything. At that time I was on YouTube getting my advice and instruction. I lost 50 pounds, never met goal. I was 200# when I…

Please feel free to post your own discussions/questions
Hey everyone. I love posting questions, but I want you all to do the same. It's not my group... it's OUR group. Plus, I sometimes can't think of much. LOL xoxo
