5 weeks in now! This time, I'm down 16 pounds from where I started, almost to my previous "high weight". In the hang of logging my food, and used to the 5:30am boot camps. Energy levels are up - and I'm now at a point where I think I can start running (okay, jogging) again. As a bonus, this time around my husband is along…

My other favourite: beans. Really underrated and useful in terms of a high fibre, lower calorie option with protein. Try It to make brownies! https://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/no-flour-black-bean-brownies/

Your post doesn’t mention what this is? Currently trying to find ways to get rid of a jar of hemp protein (tastes awful, ruined a batch of black bean brownies)….

Swap the potato for a yam - it’s much lower calorie wise and has a lower glycemic index. Garlicky shrimp or brawn’s with broccoli (actually anything broccoli centric - lots of volume not a lot of calories), and get to know zoodles (zucchini noodles). A tip from a nutritionist back when I was a gestational diabetic: don’t…

Congrats! Height wise, starting point and goal are very similar to my own - wishing you much success and health as you begin the maintenance phase of your quest!

Congrats - you made great strides and perhaps part of the lesson/challenge is once at maintenance to keep an eye on things and if they start to move in an undesired direction to assess early on to make small changes.

Thank you - so far, so good. One week in, and one more to go before things start to just feel like a habit. The first two weeks are always the most tricky.

This is a great thread! I’m 5’3” (43 years old with a frozen shoulder) and generally MFP gives me a budget of 1200 plus exercise calories. As I’m just starting over again (starting weight 175) - I try to keep things “clean” - no booze and much lower carbs with an aim of having higher protein/fat in my diet. There are low…

These are tasty : http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2013/10/08/fudge-brownie-chocolate-protein-bars/

I love to bake and a scale was great at getting consistent results, as such it was a no brainer to use it with MFP. I love that I can accurately measure a recipe and services by sizes and know that the calorie counts are right.

Well done!

Seems ideal: SW 150 CW 143 (3.5 weeks in) GW 120 Height 5'3" Strategy: clean eating (40% or less carbs, 25%+ protein 25%+ fats), no alcohol, bootcamp 2-3 times per week, jogging 2 times per week, bike to work when possible)

Had GD with my first but not my second. Was around 130 and went to 165 with my first and was 140 and went to 170 with my second (two years later). First was a girl, second a boy. I'm 5'3" and 145 now - trying to get in good shape. In general, I would think about a low glycemic diet...staying away from the refined carbs,…
