I'm a vegetarian on a budget as well :) Actually, a freelance writer! LOL. My staples are peanut butter, double-fibre bread, dried beans, onions, garlic and canned tomatoes. Also, throw in some whole wheat pasta. You can do lots of things with all of these and you'll get plenty of fibre and protein.

Awesome, thanks!

I lost 12 pounds and now none of my pants fit :) That was in about 30 days, you can probably do it!

Potato, Leek and Carrot soup! Just dice the vegetables, boil them in broth and then blend them. You can top it with some yoghurt for extra flavour :)

Such a long commute is a killer - I feel for you. I think long hours like that lead to a desire for sugar more than anything else, because of the immediate satisfaction you feel from eating it. I think that the best thing you can do for yourself is put away a lot of healthy calories when you get up - think whole wheat…

How old are you? I ask because I was in a similar situation for a long time - dealing with high levels of stress, for example an anxiety disorder, really does take a toll. Personally, I couldn't put on a pound until I reached my mid-20s. I was very happy to see some squishy parts to myself! This year I turned 30, and my…

Here's my vegetarian food board - it isn't all health food, but it's all meatless, which helps sometimes. Oh wait, some isn't! I just substitute seasoned textured soy for the ground beef. LOL! http://www.pinterest.com/froggycakes/food/

It sounds like you might have a virus, or you have drastically changed your diet and your stomach is having a hard time adjusting.

Don't feel bad about yourself <3 You should let your friends and family know that you want to make healthier choices, however, so that they can get on board. It's a sweet thing to do to buy a meal for you - it's just as sweet to buy a meal that you feel good about eating. Just have a talk with the people around you! It may…

I did the same thing on Sunday - with an entire can of Pringles. Ugh! I was really upset with myself too, but I told myself I would make up for it in the coming days. And I have! Just a little more exercise, and one day of nutritional punishment. Not saying you should skip a meal, but there are plenty of ways to catch back…

It's probably hormonal, and unfortunately not related to growth - of course I'm assuming you're an adult! When I had to switch birth control pills, the same thing happened to me until I found the right kind again. Don't worry about your boobs. The smaller they are, the better they'll look as you age :)

Yes please!

go.
Ok, so check it. There's a breakfast place near me that makes blueberry muffins right? They're huge. I mean... easily as big as a cornish game hen. Then they cook it like french toast, serve it with two eggs, bacon, and a little of the ol breakfast potatoes. Oh my god. Me want.
:open_mouth:

That's pretty hardcore - good for you. I'm really particular about logging nutriional data, but as for calories burned I just leave it up to the estimator.

Nice! I'm on day 11 and have lost 2 pounds :) I love MFP, it really works for me!

hahahahhahah!!! Nice. Seriously though, on this topic - humans aren't all the same size and our bodies don't all have the same requirements. *Shrug* That is all.
Hi! Welcome back. I've been dreaming about this sandwich since you posted
Haha awesome!!

Um...hi! I started this thread and it's gone (unsurprisingly) a bit nuts. I don't think I prefer "cycles" since I've never dieted in my life and hardly need to now - I want to lose 5 pounds, big deal? Sandwiches were meant to be a lighthearted topic....

Yes I'm a believer in satisfying calories, not low-fat substitutes. For those who are wondering, my caloric goal isn't very high just because I am already quite small, with a very sedentary lifestyle. I am a writer, working from a reclining position. That means I need a lot fewer calories than someone on their feet all day…

Totally!

Sugar is at 21g! Nearly at half on that too ;) I think it's totally worth it :)

It must be triggered at under 1500 for men; it's 1000 for women
-
Thanks! That about sums up how I feel about it too :)

Powdered peanut butter? Interesting
-
Ah, good plan! I thought I might also spread it into a whole wheat tortilla :)

The best method for ignoring food is distraction. Turn your interest towards something else - reading, writing, working, something. -

My daily goal is 1200 calories, which is fine :) I use 4 tbs of peanut butter and 1 of nutella, so it's a nice, gooey thick sandwich on multigrain bread. And it's true; I don't feel hungry for hours and hours after eating one. The whole thing gives me a big boost of protein and fibre, so I think it's still a keeper. Just…
